(Subscribe to CagePotato on YouTube!)

Pat Barry and Rose Namajunas are currently vacationing in Rose’s ancestral homeland of Lithuania, and because they’re awesome, they sent us this video postcard featuring some lake-frolicing. (Nice gator-crawl, Rose!) As usual, there is a cameo appearance by a bunch of potatoes. To see more of their adventures, be sure to follow them on twitter @HYPEORDIE and @RoseNamajunas.

Watch This: The Emotional Aftermath of Rose Namajunas vs. Tecia Torres

(Props: Invicta Fighting Championships via @ekc)

It’s agitating, it gets under my skin. I know that there’s stuff that I could have done, but in the end I wouldn’t take it back for nothin’ because I felt like I was fighting for my life…but that’s the price that you pay if you don’t finish it, and I didn’t finish it. And after this fight I realized like, you only got you and that’s it, and…if you go to decision, it’s gonna be luck. You’re rolling the dice with the judges, and I’m not gonna let that happen again.”

So says a crestfallen Rose Namajunas, following her tough decision loss to Tecia Torres at Invicta FC 6. Though her stellar performance wasn’t enough to convince the judges to give her the win, Namajunas vs. Torres was easily one of the greatest WMMA fights of 2013. Hell, we were just proud to be part of her sports bra.

The latest “All Angles” video from Invicta manages to recap a night’s worth of emotional content into four minutes of behind-the-scenes gold, including the tense moments before the fight, highlights from the battle itself, Rose’s bummed-out post-fight monologue, and finally some incredible footage of Torres breaking down in tears while talking to her mom on the phone afterwards.

Watch it. Seriously.

In Case You Missed It: “Cyborg” Smashes Coenen, Torres Edges Out “Thug” Rose at Invicta FC 6 [VIDEOS]

(Cris Cyborg vs. Marloes Coenen II. Video via FancyMojo420)

As was written so aptly this past weekend on these pages, the women folk on Saturday’s Invicta FC 6 card were some bad mofo’s. Most of the attention was given to the main event title fight (above) rematch between “Cris Cyborg” Santos and Marloes Coenen but we’ve got much love for everyone else on the card as well, especially our very own “Thug” Rose Namajunas.

For the second time in her career, Coenen showed that she can last longer than most women against Santos, but once again, she took a bad beating and a loss at the hands of the “Cyborg.” Namajunas faced the tough Tecia Torres and lost a hard-fought decision that got the main card off to an explosive start.

Both bouts were entertaining and give enough argument on their own that women’s MMA deserves our collective attention. Check out the main event above and Namajunas vs. Torres after the jump and see what we mean.

Invicta FC 6: Some of These Other Chicks Are Hella Scary Too Tho

I love Leslie Smith, but there’s no way I’m not using this kickface.    PhotoProps: Esther Lin / Invicta FC

Invicta continues to impress with good matchmaking and stellar action in its latest card, and for the first time, Invicta is available widely through pay per view, leaving behind any old issues with UStream. Apparently this is the first all-female MMA pay per view, so it’s a historic night, and the fights delivered, as usual.

Since I’ve already effectively spoiled the main event for you, why not follow along as I talk out loud about how cool the show was and which ladies be scary.

CagePotato’s Professional Gangsta “Thug” Rose Namajunas was glorious in defeat last night, putting on a highly entertaining bout with Tecia Torres that was an early pick for Fight of the Night.  Namajunas looked for a flying armbar, but I guess Torres had heard something about it.

Also, Thug Rose gives zero fucks about your stupid resets, Big John:

Invicta FC 6 THUGBLOG: How Is Rose Namajunas Like a Honey Badger? Let Her Count the Ways…

(Ew, and she eats snakes??” / Photo by Jade Kimmel for WMMARoundup)

By Rose Namajunas

Back in my amateur days, Kaitlin Young once told me I reminded her of a honey badger. We’ve all seen that fabulous video of the Crazy Nastyass Honey Badger and if you haven’t you need to!

I was very honored to be associated with such a creature being a nature/animal lover and especially coming from such a talented fighter like Kaitlin Young. I definitely saw what she was getting at. However, thinking back on it there are a lot more similarities between the honey badger and I than I was aware of at the time.

The honey badger at first glance doesn’t look like much and can be very easily underestimated. Its small stature being very misleading is something I relate to all too well. Even those who are somewhat aware still have no idea. They can’t! There isn’t enough imagination one can have that can fathom my capabilities. I don’t exactly look like Brock Lesnar or anything!

The honey badger is strong, tireless, and impenetrable. However, I don’t believe its strength or endurance comes from physical ability more than it comes from its “don’t give a ____” mentality. It is the honey badger state of mind that allows it to attack any animal regardless of size or whatever disadvantage it faces. To this day I have always been matched up with people who have either a size advantage or are more experienced. I rise to any challenge and conquer. While others are surprised, to me it is what I deal with daily in practice. I stand my ground and fight, breaking the limitations others have placed on me.

Video: Pat Barry Armbarred His Doppelganger at a Colorado BJJ Tournament Over the Weekend [SCANNERS.GIF]

Compliments of “HD’s” Facebook Page, here’s a video of kickboxing powerhouse — and now, submission savant — Pat Barry competing and winning at the 4th Annual Colorado State Championships — Brazilian Jiu Jitsu & Submission Grappling last Saturday. We cannot emphasize enough that we are not trolling here.

In fact, the only thing more beautiful than the armbar Barry is able to secure starting at the 4:05 mark is that it came following at least two eyes pokes and roughly three minutes of positional dominance by his opponent, who eerily resembled…Pat Barry. #HEADSPLOSIONGIF

While it wasn’t exactly as flashy an armbar as the one Barry’s girlfriend, Rose Namajunas, pulled off in her last fight, it’s great to see that Barry’s ground game is beginning to evolve to the level of his striking game nonetheless. His newly-displayed ground skills will surely be put to the test when he faces off against Shawn Jordan at UFC 161 in June, so let’s hope he’s up to the challenge. Not that we have a dog in this fight or anything.

Barry’s next match would be an altogether different story, unfortunately. We wish we could tell you that Barry fought the good fight, and that he secured a silver medal with his effort. We wish we could tell you that — but the Colorado BJJ scene is no fairytale world.

Video after the jump.

The 25 Most Essential MMA Twitter Feeds: 2013 Edition

(Despite what your grandmother thinks, Twitter is not a euphemism and does not warrant a squirt of Dawn in your mouth.)

By Jason Moles

Back in 2010, the brain trust at CagePotato HQ compiled a list of the 25 most essential MMA Twitter feeds to follow. Boy, do we sure know how to pick ‘em. Miguel Torres, Kimbo Slice, Mayhem Miller, Reed Harris, Shane Carwin, and Strikeforce have all since faded out of relevance or gone off the deep end. Wait, Reed does what now? Are you sure? Nevermind — we’re back with an updated list of who you should really be following on Twitter, and this time we’ve actually put some thought into it instead of blindly tossing darts at our screen while simultaneously using a Shakeweight. Please note, this is 2013 and if you don’t already know you should be following Dana White, Arianny Celeste, or Ariel Helwani, you’re probably the reason Jon Jones is defending his title against Chael Sonnen this Saturday at UFC 159. Speaking of the gangster from West Linn…

twitter.com/sonnench

Bio: “Godfather of integrity; dual masters in dominance and modesty; once outboxed Hemingway; & author of this year’s bestseller, available NOW on Amazon”

If you thought Sonnen refused to break kayfabe only when the cameras were rolling, you must not have been paying attention because his gimmick is boundless. The People’s Champion maximizes his 140-character limit with every emasculating jab at his opponents, peers, and detractors in the MMA media. The American Gangster is the only man on Twitter to follow absolutely no one, not even his own mother.

Sample Tweet: “15 – the number of letters in the word hydropneumatics as well as Chael beats Jones. #4/27/13″
