Video of the Day: The Chuck Liddell/Adriana Lima Super Bowl Commercial Has Arrived

(Our boy Chucky shows up around the 1 minute mark.)

Between you, me, and the wall, I had a doozy of a dream last night, Potato Nation. Get this: a corn fed harvest mouse, a hooker, a nun, a Flemish peasant woman, whips, chains, whistles, yo-yo’s, a circus midget, my grandmother riding by on a bicycle giving me the finger, and a duck.

You think that’s crazy? Well it pales in comparison to the Super Bowl ad Kia managed to dream up, which features supermodel Adriana Lima, former UFC Light Heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell, Motley Crue performing “Kickstart My Heart,” a legion of bikini-clad women, a magical dwarf (so close!!), and a cowboy riding a giant rhinoceros. Check out the video above, even if it isn’t related to MMA whatsoever. Did we mention it has Adriana Lima in a skimpy outfit? Yeah, that’s what we thought.

Super Bowl Exclusive: Ex-NY Giant Matt Mitrione Gives His Picks For This Weekend [VIDEO]

(“Who says you can’t face-mask? Well the commissioner is an idiot.”)

If there is an MMA fighter who is qualified to give us some analysis on Sunday’s Super Bowl XLV match-ups, it’s Matt Mitrione.

A standout defensive tackle at Purdue University, Mitrione made the New York Giants as a walk-on. He spent four years in the NFL with the Giants and the Minnesota Vikings before trading in his gridiron aspirations for his dream to one day fight in the Octagon, which he again made a reality through determination and hard work in spite of the odds stacked against him.

Although the brunt of his time these days is split between his new gym in Indianapolis and at home with his family, ‘Meathead’ still follows the sport that he first fell in love with as a boy.

In this exclusive video breakdown he did for us through his main sponsor, our friends at Hayabusa, Mitrione details which team he thinks will take the trophy on Sunday.

Check it out after the jump.

UFC 109 Participants Make Super Bowl Predictions…Sort Of

You may not know this if you are not an American, or if you are a shut-in who reads nothing but MMA news and advice columns on the internet, but the Super Bowl is this Sunday.  It’s the one weekend where even non-football fans pretend to be interested in the game so they can gain access to a bunch of high-calorie snacks that they did not prepare.  Statistically, it’s also a great weekend to get a DUI, be involved in a domestic violence situation, or throw up.  Bonus points if you hit the trifecta.

But if you’re looking for expert predictions on Sunday’s game, don’t ask a bunch of MMA fighters.  Many of them can’t be bothered with pro sports that don’t involve sanctioned face-punching, and others are Brazilian or British or some other damn thing, which means they are barely even aware of the existence of the NFL.  Still, watching Demian Maia do his best to understand the situation is charming in a way.  Watching Frank Trigg pretend that he’s co-hosting the pre-game show definitely is not.

Instead of trying to figure out who will win, you should probably focus your energy on deciding what to do this Sunday while your UFC 109 hangover is wearing off.  To that end, our friends at Holy Taco have devised a helpful flowchart for you to consult.  And if you need help getting pumped for some serious binge eating, the boys at Greg Jackson’s gym have got you covered after the jump.

Video: Gina Carano is to Bruce Lee as will.i.am is to Bob Dylan

This is a Pepsi commercial that will air during the Super Bowl.  From the looks of it, the goal is to show that each generation continues doing things that previous generations before them did, like drinking Pepsi!

Gina Carano comes in around the 0:18 mark, right after Bruce Lee.  Before you get too worked up about the comparison, remember that this fun little SAT analogy game started by going from Bob Dylan to will.i.am, as if to prove that this generation is more superficial than every other one.  Still, MMA fighter in a Super Bowl ad.  Hooray.
