It’s been a while since we’ve opened up the phone lines to the Potato Nation, so we figured we were about due for another call-in edition of The Bum Rush Radio Show before we close out the year.

Well, The Bum Rush Radio Show is finally back in your lives after a brief hiatus. Whether or not that’s a good thing remains to be seen. Our relationship with you is like Sid’s was with Nancy; you can’t live without us, but sometimes we drive you insane and we’re cool with that. We’ll hide the knives and the heroin and we’ll continue to get along just fine.

Anyway, our special guest this week is acclaimed Xtreme Couture head boxing coach Gil Martinez who is in the final stages of preparations for Gray Maynard’s championship rematch with Frankie Edgar. We talk to Gil about his thoughts on the bout and we find out what he thought about the Ortiz-Mayweather debacle.

Also on the show, we formally meet our new part-time staff member Jared “DangadaDang” Jones as he, Ben and Mike discuss the top news of the week, last week’s UFC 135 event, and the last UFC on Versus card coming up tomorrow.

There are a lot worse things you could spend 42 minutes doing today, so you may as well listen to The Bum Rush. Hell, you could make any menial task a bit more enjoyable if you do it WHILE listening to the show.

Anyway, hope everyone has a safe and relaxing Canada Day/4th of July weekend. Give this abridged version of The Bum Rush a listen and waste an hour of your Friday. We were supposed to have our favorite MMA interviewer Karyn Bryant on this episode, but a last-minute scheduling conflict pushed her appearance back until the next show in two weeks. Chris Coleman also tried his damndest to be on the show, but technology foiled his efforts.

The Bum Rush is back this week and the most notable change is ReX13 returned for his first show in months. On this episode the guys share their thoughts on the week’s news stories and give their predictions for this weekend’s UFC 131 show and next weekend’s Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum event. They also (begrudgingly) get into a brief discussion about “cuntygate” and an uncomfortable segment on ReX’s fascination with Tito Ortiz’s penis.

We’ve been off for a few weeks mainly due to logistical reasons, but we’re finally back with another episode of Ben’s mom’s favorite MMA podcast.

On this week’s episode weekend writer Seth Falvo joins us as we break down this weekend’s UFC 130 event and next weekend’s The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale. We also sit down with embattled former UFC welterweight contender Karo “The Heat” Parisyan, who talks about his heartbreaking loss to Ryan Ford at MMA Live 1 last week in Canada, his haters, his thoughts on the media and his plans for the future.

If you’re looking for something to do this afternoon to waste some time while you wait for Steve Carell’s final episode of The Office, The Royal Wedding or Cage Potato’s Banned Party, look no further than the latest episode of our massively popular (OK, mildly popular) podcast.

Well, apparently our Free CagePotato campaign finally broke through the seemingly impenetrable armor around Dana White’s heart that only a handful of people including Stephan Bonnar, Forrest Griffin and Chuck Liddell have been able to breach.

The Potato Nation has been asking for it, so tomorrow night we’re bringing back the interactive aspect of The Bum Rush Radio Show. The taping of episode 19 will start at 5:30 pm ET Wednesday.

The Bum Rush Radio Show is back for a 16th episode this week, and it’s a doozy.

On this edition of the podcast, the guys recap Saturday’s opening round event of the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix and break down next weekend’s UFC 127 card before welcoming CP fighter-blogger Ryan “The Big Deal” Jimmo and MMA icon Ricco Rodriguez.

Despite not having a special guest on this week’s episode, we still put out a well-rounded show featuring Ben, Mike and Chad’s thoughts on last weekend’s Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Cyborg show, breakdowns and predictions for Saturday night’s UFC 126 card and our take on the week’s top headlines.

Realizing that we forgot to touch on UFC 124 on last week’s episode of The Bum Rush, we put together a pretty decent little show for this week, which although it clocks in at just over 30 minutes, is packed from top to bottom with goodness.

In this episode, which could be argued is our pound-for-pound best, perennial Potato Nation favorite, Phil Baroni stops by to talk about a number of topics, including his upcoming UFC 125 bout with Brad Tavares, the fact that he’s one of the last old school brawlers and his thoughts on his American Kickboxing Academy teammate Josh Koscheck’s championship bout with Georges St-Pierre Saturday night.

Stefan Struve also checks in with the guys to discuss his online rivalry and UFC 124 heavyweight scrap with Sean McCorkle, how he got his start as a fighter, which fighter he looked up to growing up and much, much more.

One thing you didn’t hear on Wednesday was an exclusive interview we did with Jorge Rivera for this episode in which the UFC middleweight basically calls Chad an idiot for saying that a fighter doesn’t have to be exciting as long as he wins.

Well it’s been a while, but The Bum Rush Radio Show is finally back from a short hiatus. Unfortunately, because of the UFC Fan Expo and a handful of weddings all of us were guilted into attending, our free time was very sparse the last few weeks, but we’re ready to start pumping this thing out on the regular again.
