Get Hype: ‘UFC 194 Embedded’ Is a Masterpiece of Buildup

(No, Jose, I WILL NOT CONTAIN MY EXCITEMENT!!!)

An eight city world media tour. Eleven months of anticipation. Countless interviews, insults, and face-to-face staredowns. A pair of injuries and a newly-established interim champion. It has been a long road to get to the biggest featherweight title fight in the history of the sport, but this weekend, Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor will finally do battle.

But before they do, how about one last video to send your anticipation levels through the damn roof?

[VIDEO] Oh, This? Just Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo Talking Smack on Fox Sports Live

A mere…four months out from their featherweight title tilt at UFC 189, Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor are already being given the insult-laden media tour treatment. They’ve already received their own Embedded series, lobbed steroid accusations at each other in various interviews, and most recently, engaged in a bilingual bro-down on Fox Sports Live. It’s kind of unprecedented, really.

You can check out the entire cringeworthy interview above, which features such highlights as McGregor claiming to be aroused by the “beautiful aroma” of fear that Aldo is secreting (gross), or Aldo comparing Mcgregor to Scooby Doo (lol!). Honestly, it’s pretty difficult to watch two guys throw shade at one another when a translator is involved, but McGregor is the kind of cat who could sell a ketchup popsicle to a woman in white gloves, ya dig?

Meanwhile…Demetrious Johnson sits at home playing Xbox and wondering when the damn camera crews are going to arrive already. :(

After the jump: The first three (or as McGregor would say, “tree”) episodes of the aforementioned Embedded series.

Screengrab of the Day: Mickey Rourke Is Slowly Turning Into Your Aunt

(Looks like Andy Serkis just found himself out of a job for the Lord of the Rings reboot. Props: r/MMA)

If you’ve been watching the excellent UFC 184 Embedded series thus far, chances are that you’ve been thoroughly entertained by the-GOOD GOD WHAT IS THAT THING BEFORE ME.

Captured by r/MMA user lrkr486, the Gollum-esque looking creature pictured above is apparently Expendables star Mickey Rourke, who we can assure you definitely isn’t, as one commenter suggested, “on the heels of a three week crack binge.” It’s more like an eight to ten week binge for sure.

Rourke told the cameras in episode 2 of Embedded that he met Ellenberger while training for a fight in Russia (which, LOL) around the same time Jake was training for a fight of his own, and the two have become buddies in the time since. That being the case, perhaps now’s the time for Ellenberger to gather Rourke’s other closest friends around and hold an intervention for whatever the Hell is happening to

After the Jump:  The first 3 episodes of UFC Embedded, via the UFC’s Youtube channel.
