Long before we knew the names Arianny and Brittney, or Chrissy and Vanessa, the UFC’s round-card holders were a revolving door of anonymous female talent, often clad in denim ass-shorts and bedazzled halter-tops. And dammit, we liked it that way.

This must-see highlight reel takes us through 20 years of UFC ring girl history, from the delightful trashiness of the ’90s to the uniformed polish of today. The only gripe I have is the conspicuous absence of Ali Sonoma. WTF, guys. You can’t whitewash history.

As we mentioned last week, UFC ring girls Arianny Celeste and Brittney Palmer scored the cover and a fantastic cheerleader-themed pictorial in the May 2013 issue of British FHM. We just discovered a bunch of the photos online via FHM’s Facebook page and HawtCelebs.com, and we’ve posted our favorites below. After making their debuts as guest Octagon girls in 2011 — see here and here — models Chrissy Blair (the blonde one) and Vanessa Hanson (the brunette) moved to Strikeforce, where they held round cards until that promotion’s collapse. Luckily, we haven’t seen the last of them. The UFC announced yesterday that Chrissy and Vanessa have been added to the UFC’s ring girl rotation, and will be in action at the TUF 17 Finale, April 13th in Las Vegas.

As announced at yesterday’s UFC on FUEL 8 pre-fight press conference, South Korean TV personality and pop singer SuJung Lee (aka Su Jung Lee, aka Lee Su Jung) will serve as a guest Octagon Girl at this weekend’s “Silva vs. Stann” event in Saitama, Japan, where she’ll be joined by the returning Azusa Nishigaki.

“It’s really nerve-wracking but also exciting to be chosen as a UFC ring girl,” SuJung said. “I want to show all the fans the charms of a Korean ring girl.”

Following their recent trend of using local ring girl talent for international events, the UFC hired a pair of Brazilian models to add eye candy to this weekend’s UFC on FX 7 card — Camila Rodrigues de Oliveira (who barely exists on the Internet, unfortunately) and Aline Franzoi, a 20-year-old from Guarulhos who hosts some sort of weird kids’ show called Hora Da Festa. We decided to round up some of Aline’s best photos, which we’ve arranged in the gallery after the jump. Enjoy, and see lots more of Aline on her Facebook page.

The UFC revealed yesterday that its UFC on FUEL 6: Franklin vs. Le event (November 10th; Macau, China) will actually feature two guest ring girls. Joining Kang Ye-bin in the Octagon Girl pit will be Jessica Cambensy, aka Jessica C., a Chinese-Filipina-American model who originally hails from Chicago, and is currently based in Los Angeles. After kicking off her career at the age of 15, Jessica rose to prominence as a lingerie model in Hong Kong, and has also appeared in a couple movies. As first reported by The Chosun Ilbo, Korean model/TV personality Kang Ye-bin has been selected as a guest Octagon girl for the UFC’s “Franklin vs. Le” event in Macau, China on November 10th. The adorable host of UFC Inside on Korea’s Super Action channel, Kang had this to say about her new appointment:

“I’m thrilled to be Korea’s first Octagon Girl. I’m just a little anxious whether I’ll be able to do a good job, but I’ll try my best and hopefully I can raise the spirits of our three Korean fighters in the UFC. I’d like to look sexier and hotter than Arianny Celeste.”

Since you can’t have one without the other, we proudly present Australian model Kahili Blundell, the other half of the UFC’s new “Smashes” ring girl duo. The 23-year-old blonde from Sydney was named RALPH Australian Swimwear Model of the Year 2011, spent two years cheerleading in the Australian National Rugby League, and hustles on the side as a certified make up and spray-tan artist. To our knowledge, she isn’t dating a UFC fighter like her co-worker is. Fightlinker gives us the heads-up that Australian models Kahili Blundell and Kristie Jane McKeon have been hired as ring girls for the UFC’s upcoming Australia vs. U.K. season of The Ultimate Fighter (aka “The Smashes“). As it turns out, Kristie McKeon is the girlfriend of Smashes coach Ross Pearson, which means that on-set hooting directed at the blonde fitness instructor will probably be kept to a minimum.

If you are in need a pick-me-up, then boy do we have some good news for you. Chances are, if you ordered tickets to UFC 149, you are a sad panda bordering on manic depressive at the moment. Every single main card fight has been changed from its original pairing, leaving us with a headlining battle for a belt that has no value outside of Narnia, where its gold could possibly be smelted into a dagger of some sort and used to smite an enemy with extreme righteousness.

But praise the Gods, an angel from on High has been sent to repair this weak, starving card as best as she can with only the power of her presence, like a stacked Mother Teresa if you will. That woman is former UFC ring girl Rachelle Leah, who will be making her triumphant return to the octagon at UFC 149. We last saw Ms. Leah at UFC 111, where she turned in perhaps the single greatest night of card carrying the sport has ever seen. Say what you want about her ability to pick ‘em, but if there’s one thing longtime UFC ring girl Arianny Celeste knows, it’s how to look good in front of a camera. On the last episode of The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil, Vitor Belfort out-scored Wanderlei Silva in a soccer-themed coaches’ challenge, and Gasparzinho celebrated by picking up ring girl Britney Palmer and carrying her away, kicking and screaming. Team Vitor set upon Britney like a pack of wild dogs. When the UFC’s local security crew finally dragged them off, nothing remained of Palmer but a tattered red bikini top — her shorts were devoured completely — and a pair of silicone breast-implants, picked clean of all flesh. Each member of Team Vitor received R$2,000 (approximately $980) for the win. See, this is the kind of shit you miss when you don’t watch.

Look, nobody looks good in a mugshot. But after spending all night partying, allegedly getting physical with an unnamed victim her boyfriend Praveen Chandra, then getting arrested, I’m actually surprised that Arianny Celeste looks as good as she does. It could have been a lot worse, is what I’m saying.

At long last, here’s Arianny Celeste’s mugshot from her domestic violence booking on Saturday morning. The UFC ring girl was released on $3,000 bail after about 12 hours in custody, got in a power-nap sometime during the day, and still showed up for the UFC 146 main card looking pretty damn presentable. And that’s why she’s had a steady job carrying round cards around the Octagon for over five years — other professional hot chicks simply cannot hang at that level.

Well ho-lee shit. It seems that if you do enough digging on any given ring girl, you will find out that she has done porn at one point in her life. According to a few unconfirmed sources from around the MMA blogosphere, it appears that Chandella Powell will be joining the ranks of Logan Stanton, Natasha Wicks, and Edith Labelle as a former UFC ring girl due to…get this…failing to disclose that she once appeared in a couple softcore porn photo shoots and videos under the name “Mariah Ashton.” What was originally passed off as a common bestiality flick was recently discovered to contain none other than the first ever African American UFC ring girl going “toe-to-toe” with another young starlet. How could you keep this from us, Carmen?

As we all know, Chandella was absent from the UFC’s FUEL TV debut last night, and hasn’t said a word on her Twitter account since Saturday. And since we also know that it is physically impossible for any woman, let alone a public figure, to ignore their Twitter for more than an hour or so, this can only mean that these rumors are unquestionably true. We are not going to provide links to any of the evidence against Ms. Powell, because if you haven’t searched the internet and found them yourself by this point I would be sorely disappointed, Potato Nation.

In news that will probably make you clench your fists in triumph, Playboy has confirmed that beloved UFC ring girl Brittney Palmer will appear in their March issue. A photo of Palmer was included on the “Next Month” page of the nudie mag’s current January/February issue, with the following teaser copy:

“The Canvas suits her. The UFC Octagon has always attracted delicate beauties, but no ring girl paints a prettier picture than pop artist Brittney Palmer. It’s a pictorial worth fighting for.”

Palmer will be the third UFC Octagon Girl to grace the pages of Playboy, following Rachelle Leah in 2008 and Arianny Celeste in 2010. And as long as they don’t airbrush her to death like Lindsay Lohan, this will definitely be one of the highlights of our year.

The unfamiliar face you may have seen doing laps around the Octagon on Saturday night was Vanessa Hanson, a 20-year-old model from Orange, California, who earned a guest ring girl spot at UFC 136 by winning Transworld Surf‘s 2011 US Open/UFC Model Search. Chrissy Hubbard (aka Chrissy Blair) has earned a shot as a guest Octagon Girl at UFC 133, after winning the annual Miss TransWorld Motocross modeling search.

The 22-year-old hails from Orlando, Florida, and recently graduated college with a degree in graphic design. She describes herself as a “laid back, friendly and goofy person.” Oh man, we have so much in common! (Except for the laid back and friendly part, and the part about graduating college.)

UFC 131 in Vancouver will have a guest Octagon Girl by the name of Leah Dizon according to Arianny Celeste on Facebook yesterday. Leah, a singer and model was born and raised in Las Vegas but now resides in Tokyo, Japan. [via babesofmma]
