Shameless Plug: Pre-Order ‘UFC Undisputed 2010′ at Walmart Gamecenter for a $10 Gift Card and Exclusive Fighter Content

UFC Undisputed 2010 PS3 video game cover Brock Lesnar

The latest installment in THQ’s UFC Undisputed franchise hits stores next week, and from all accounts, the 2010 edition beats the crap out of last year’s. Besides the new playable characters and improvements to the gameplay, the create-a-character and career mode functions have been nicely tuned-up. (You now have the ability to disrespect your opponents at weigh ins, for one thing.) And check this out: If you pre-order the game from Walmart Gamecenter, you’ll receive a $10 e-gift card as a token of their appreciation.

But that’s not the only reason to swing by Gamecenter today. While you’re there, take a look at their exclusive video feature with Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Forrest Griffin, and Todd Duffee giving their thoughts on the game, and the career mode tutorial with Black House manager Ed Soares. So do yourself (and us) a favor and click here

Video: New UFC Undisputed 2010 Promos

(Video courtesy THQ.com)

You’d think that, as a director for THQ’s latest promo spot for UFC Undisputed 2010 featuring Cain Velasquez, the last thing you would want to do would be to draw attention to the large script "Brown Pride" tattoo that is emblazoned across Mexican-American heavyweight’s chest. Apparently, that’s why you’re sitting at home surfing the Internet on a Tuesday night while the future Francis Ford Coppola is likely ballin’ around Cali making "Girls Gone Wild" videos on the regular.

Judging by his performance in the future TV spot, Velasquez isn’t going to be the token MMA fighter in a Sylvester Stallone movie any time soon.
THQ  also posted this Wikipedia-style fighting techniques video on their site, featuring Mark Laimon doing his monotone, uninspired best to explain  the differences between Greco-Roman versus freestyle wrestling as well as muay thai versus karate.

‘UFC Undisputed 2010′ Trailer Promises Kimbo Haymakers

(Props: Spike.com)

Saturday night’s Spike Video Game Awards crowned UFC Undisputed 2009 as the year’s Best Individual Sports Game, beating out such notable titles as Fight Night Round 4 and Wii Sports Resort. And while that’s not a huge accomplishment considering that the UFC and Spike are in bed together and the whole broadcast was basically just one big advertisement, the ceremony did offer a first look at next year’s installment of Undisputed.

We begin with a montage of UFC stars telling us what being a fighter does and doesn’t require. To be honest, it sounds like a very demanding profession. Tito Ortiz tries so hard to sell his line, God bless him. Though there isn’t much actual game-footage to judge, some minor improvements are on display: Anderson Silva switches from southpaw to orthodox stance. Frank Mir is held against the fence. And of course, Kimbo Slice joins the cast, swinging some wide-ass punches at a faceless opponent. UFC Undisputed 2010 is slated to hit stores on May 25th — what improvements would you like to see in the updated version?
