Exclusive: Randy Couture Discusses ‘Expendables’ Role, UFC 118 Fight Against James Toney

Randy Couture Discusses The Expendables, UFC 118 Fight With Ja – Watch more Funny Videos
(Randy is one of those strong, soft-spoken types, and unfortunately my camera didn’t do a great job of picking up his audio, especially near the beginning. I recommend listening to this with headphones, at a decent volume.)

UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture was in New York yesterday doing press for his supporting role in The Expendables, and I got a chance to point my Flip cam at him for about 10 minutes and ask stupid questions. Couture revealed the secret behind Sylvester Stallone’s cartoonish forearms, weighed in on which member of the The Expendables is the toughest S.O.B. in real life, and explained why this movie was important to his budding movie career.

Of course, we also discussed his upcoming UFC 118 fight against James Toney. The Natural gives his thoughts on Toney’s off-the-wall trash talk, whether or not the match is a "freak show," and how he’s been preparing for Toney’s boxing skills. Some transcribed highlights are after the jump…

Josh Barnett Threatens Geronimo Dos Santos With Sodomy

(Props: fighthub)

Heads-up: Impact FC’s first heel-tastic fight card goes down this Saturday at the Brisbane Entertainment Center, headlined by Josh Barnett (25-5) vs. Geronimo "Mondragon" Dos Santos (18-9). In the above video interview, Barnett predicts that Dos Santos will make a big thud when he hits the mat, and says he’ll "anally rape [Dos Santos] if possible." Would you expect anything less from The Greatest Sportsman in MMA?

Barnett is on a five-fight win streak, and most recently submitted Mighty Mo at DREAM.13. Dos Santos snapped a two-fight losing skid in May when he knocked out Fabio Jamantha at a Combat Fight event in Brazil. This weekend’s Impact event marks the first time that Mondragon will compete outside of his home country. The current lineup of "Impact FC: The Uprising – Brisbane" is below:

Josh Barnett vs. Geronimo Dos Santos
Karo Parisyan vs. Luis "Besouro" Dutra Jr
Carlos Newton vs. Brian Ebersole
Joaquim Ferreira vs. Sokoudjou
Jeff Monson vs. Brad Morris
Bira Lima vs. Felise Leniu
Jai Bradney vs. Thiago "Minu" Meller

After the jump: Three videos of Geronimo Dos Santos in action, including his beat-down of Zuluzinho…

Exclusive Interview: Clay Guida Discusses UFC 117 Fight Against Rafael Dos Anjos

Sal Mora talks w UFC Lightweight Clay Guida for CagePotato.com – Watch more Funny Videos

After suffering tough losses against Diego Sanchez and Kenny Florian last year, Clay Guida came back with a renewed fire this March and choked out Shannon Gugerty — his first submission victory in three-and-a-half years. With momentum back on his side, the Carpenter looks to keep the ball rolling next month at UFC 117 (August 7th, Oakland), where he’ll take on Rafael Dos Anjos, who is riding three straight victories against Rob Emerson, Kyle Bradley, and Terry Etim. In this exclusive interview filmed by Sal Mora at Jackson’s MMA in Albuquerque, Guida tells us what the fight against Dos Anjos means to him, and explains the advantages he’ll have in the cage. He also weighs in on UFC 117′s Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen main event; unsurprisingly, Clay likes the hard-nosed wrestler’s chances.

When asked which loss he’d go back and avenge if he could, Guida said that he doesn’t like to look back at the past. However:

"I think the Diego Sanchez fight kinda spoke for itself. I think he won three minutes of the fight, maybe four. I think I controlled the rest of the fight. So that’s one of those [fights] that would have maybe put me in line for title contention. And it would also be one of the greatest fights again…Diego’s a buddy of mine, I hope the best for him, and our time will come again, maybe. If not, who cares, I [plan to] just keep winning."

Exclusive Video: Jon Jones Discusses Upcoming Fight With Vladimir Matyushenko, MMA in NY, Freakishly Long Arms + More

CagePotato Exclusive Video Interview w/UFC Star Jon Jones – Watch more Funny Videos

Coming off his devastation of Brandon Vera in March, fast-rising UFC star Jon Jones will take on veteran Vladimir Matyushenko at UFC On Versus 2 (August 1st, San Diego). It may not be an obvious step up in competition, but in this exclusive video interview — shot by our friend Sal Mora at Jackson’s MMA in Albuquerque — Jones calls Matyushenko a "solid step sideways," and assures us that he’s not looking past the Janitor. Of course, another impressive win would put the 22-year-old directly into the 205-pound title mix, which suits him just fine, since there’s nobody in the division he doesn’t think he can beat:

"I’m really confident in myself, and I’m big on faith. I just believe if I study for any opponent — his interviews, his fights, his footwork, his timing — I think I’ll figure out that opponent. It’s like doing your homework…you know yourself, you know your opponent, and there’s really nothing to worry about."

As a native of Endicott, New York, Jones weighed in on the MMA regulation efforts in New York State"That would mean so much to me, competing in New York…it would be a dream come true, and something that I believe in my heart will happen one day. I would love to fight for a title in Madison Square Garden."

Bones also discussed his current preparations with trainer Greg Jackson, explained how his 84.5" reach helps him in his daily life, and told us what line of work he might be in if he wasn’t fighting. Enjoy.

We sent our friend "Skanky" Remington Reed to track down Lawlor at his gym in Orlando, The Jungle MMA & Fitness, and discuss how he copes with tough losses, the method behind his memorable cage entrances, the runaway success of his "Lawlormania" t-shirt, his weather-based prediction for Machida vs. Rua II, and the question everyone else has been afraid to ask: Between him and Seth Petruzelli, who’s gayer? Enjoy…

Exclusive: King Mo on Reppin’ the South, Talking Trash With Mousasi + More

LayzieTheSavage with King Mo Lawal – Watch more Funny Videos

While he was at Reign Training Center checking in with Jason Miller, LayzieTheSavage also bumped into Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal, who will be competing for Strikeforce’s light-heavyweight title at the Nashville show on 4/17. Mo has been calling out Gegard Mousasi since he put away Mike Whitehead in December, and now has an opportunity to prove the doubters wrong and get his belt. If that seems like a tall order, Lawal would like to point out that he’s used to being an underdog, and feels he has advantages in power, athleticism, hunger — and he’s a little bit smarter too. When asked what he’ll do to celebrate a victory next Saturday, King Mo gives an appropriately confident response: "I don’t celebrate victories…I expect to win, so what’s to celebrate?"

In this exclusive video interview, Miller gives his thoughts on his "country boy" opponent, and why he’ll enjoy smashing Stout in the dude’s hometown. Video Interview: Joanne Spracklen of ‘MMA Girls’ Gets Personal

When we last interviewed her two years ago, Joanne Spracklen of MMAGirls.net was an up-and-coming video-blogger known for her UFC predictions and jiu-jitsu tutorials, and CagePotato.com was just a struggling MMA blog with a very small audience. Now, Joanne rubs elbows with UFC stars, sponsors female fighters, and acts in movies, while CagePotato…well, not much has changed for us, actually. But after we featured her as one of the 12 Hottest Women in MMA last month, Joanne offered to answer a new set of questions, for old time’s sake.

In this brand-new video interview, Joanne tries to seduce her way into a higher placement on our Hottest Women list, discusses her "lurker" role in Never Back Down, explains why she’s never dated an MMA fighter, and does a pretty solid impression of a vapid L.A. resident. For more of Joanne, follow her on MySpace, Facebook, and Twitter!
