Thiago Alves got a chubby monkey off his back and made weight by squeaking just under the wire at 171 this afternoon. Good to see some people can put down the fork when the pressure is on (yeah, that was a shot at you, Gina). The only UFC 90 fighter not to make weight today was Josh Burkman, who weighed in two pounds over at 173 for his preliminary bout with Pete Sell. The sad irony is that the former middleweight Sell was the fighter people were expecting to have trouble making the cut. He hit 170 right on the button for what Goldstein expects to be UFC 90′s worst bout. Sure is off to a hell of a start.
Before today’s weigh-in, Matt Hughes spoke to fans and answered some questions, as he’s known to do. When asked about the Randy Couture/Brock Lesnar bout coming up at UFC 91, Hughes sided with Lesnar, saying: “The younger, stronger, better wrestler right now is going to win.”
He also said he’s voting for John McCain, for those of you who were wondering. Weird, I know. Full weigh-in results after the jump.

That being said, Obama and his cronies will not be good for this country. You think this economic crisis was caused by George Bush and the republicans? Because republicans like lending money to poor people to buy houses. Please do some research about how this crisis was started. It started under Bill Clinton and since then the democrats have blocked every attempt to regulate Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac. When the loans didn't get paid back people destroyed their own credit and lost the house they should've never bought.
I like the money that I work hard for.

i dont think the burkman-sell fight will be boring pete sell has heavy hands and hes not afraid to let them fly but we could see burkman backpedaling alot or attempting alot of failed takedowns either way i think pete sell is a very exciting fighter his war against scott smith and nate quarry (the 2nd one) were super good fights and super good finishes sure he got kod in both fights but atleast he fights like a man and gives ppl what they came 2 see im going with drago by tko round 2 3:56 secs thats what im hoping for cause i fucking hate burkman what kind of name is the peoples warrior when u fight like a bitch
