Tim Sylvia Is Just Another Rung on Mariusz Pudzianowski’s Ladder

Insulting Quote of the Day comes to us courtesy of Mariusz Pudzianowski, who just signed a contract to fight Tim Sylvia at a May 21st event in Worcester, Massachusetts, which is being put on by a shadowy Korean promoter called "Moosin":

The five-time World’s Strongest Man winner also revealed that he should be fighting former Olympic judoka Pawel Nastula in September this year. “Listen, I’m not afraid of anyone. I have my next fight on May 7th and another two weeks later, if everything goes as planned I’ll face Pawel in September. I do it step by step.”

Step by step, huh? So to clarify, on the spectrum of MMA competition it goes random Polish first-timer, 1-0 fat guy, Tim Sylvia (after a two week layoff!), and finally, a 1-4 PRIDE veteran. This is the company you’re keeping, Tim. Part of us hopes Sylvia smashes Mariusz so he can regain some measure of self-respect. In the meantime, we’d be content if he just stopped harassing Andrei Arlovski‘s ex-girlfriend.

^^ That warning being: Tribal tattoos can make you look more muscular, especially if you already have a muscular physique (see left image). Just remember that too much of a good thing is not a good thing: The more ink you have, the more it hides the definition of your muscles. This is why inked bodybuilders often opt for small, simple looking tribal designs. Also, keep in mind that getting a tattoo will not magically transform fat into muscle. In other words, tattoos can enhance a muscular appearance, but cannot actually create one. When you combine an overdose on tribal tattoos with an already soft physique, the results can be tragic (see right image).

I wanna see Timmy receive a few of those leg kicks from the strong man. Absolutely no technique in them, but damn, they look like they could snap a tree in half. Timmy seems to be easily intimidated. And this is the guy to do it. If it is not leg kicks, he may just simply grab Big Tim by the neck and crank away until Sylvia says Uncle or his neck snaps!!

This will be the fight that puts Timmy over the edge, literally. It will be the straw that breaks the camel's back.....or should I say Tim's back

Oh holy crap, Timmay could get knocked out by a couple shots of Nyquil, but to fight a Kyokushinkai Karate practitioner? Let's not forget that Mariusz is the kind of guy who could eat a Humvee and shit Mini Coopers, and let's assume that he's getting more training to effectively transition from Strongman competitions to MMA (and not be a Hong Man Choi-level freakshow). Mariusz is gonna smack Timmay around so hard his ancestors will feel it.

@ dazed, I think its a pretty safe bet that sylvia won't be contemplating philosophical concepts like mortality or suicide.

In fact I'd assume that he's never even been bothered to grasp the concept of shame.

Much as I would like to see Tim come out in fighting shape and slap a knee bar on Overeem's white brother, I think he will most likely get pummeled. That beating he took from Fedor really damaged his psyche.

If you scroll back far enough in Tim's Twitter (like I did last night for some unfathomable reason), he posts something like "for all those who say I suck" and then posts a Bettendorf address. I originally thought "wow, he's giving out his home address??" but it was actually the MFS gym.

Read his Twitter if you want to find a way to kill brain cells, it's the mundane ramblings of a very simple man.

Tim Sylvia might actually kill himself after this fight. Seriously I could see it happening. When your career goes this downhill, blowing your head off might not seem too bad. I mean going from Fedor what 2 years ago? to fighting Veteran Strongman MMA rookies. The sad thing is that I see 'The Maniac" losing.

Rumor has it this card could also feature Houston Alexander vs Seth Petruzelli, Butterbean is actually booking the fights. There was a quick blurb about the event in a Boston paper a few weeks ago that caught my eye, a number of former UFC guys are rumored but it is really a shady event so far.

I hope this event makes it though because I would have to shell out the cash to watch this fight.
