From the Houston Chronicle, Jared Barnes talks with Tim Sylvia about the state of his career and the potential for WAMMA’s legitimacy. Sylvia is under the impression that he’ll be fighting on the second Affliction show in October, but won’t say who he might face. He also says that he’d eventually like a rematch with Fedor, presumably because it’s a great way to get paid without having to be in the ring very long. He also manages to talk a little smack about Ricco Rodriguez. Just proves that no matter how low you’re feeling, there’s always someone down there for you to kick.

I guess you can’t have ALL fights be entertaining. You need at least one fight to be boring on each card, and Timmy is an expert at that. That’s not cool how Tim talked shit about Ricco by the way… the guy must be going through a lot of shit right now (you know you’re a has-been loser and your life sucks ass if you make it on VH1). I don’t really see Affliction putting Sylvia against someone who’ll kick his ass (Barnett), they wanna keep marketing him as a top-10, so they’ll probably just feed Paul Buentello to him. Although it would be funny to see him get his ass kicked by Aleksander Emelianenko (assuming he doesn’t have hepatitis) …2 Emelianenko’s in a row, how embarrassing.
