Tom Atencio Is a -160 Favorite Against Randy Hedderick

Betting odds have been posted for some of the key matchups at this Saturday’s Ultimate Chaos show (props to BloodyElbow for the tip), and oddsmakers have labeled Affliction VP/occasional fighter Tom Atencio as the favorite in his fight against Randy Hedderick, who is 4-3 as an amateur and will be making his pro debut against Atencio. Hedderick welcomes the attention that comes with fighting The T-Shirt Guy; in a recent Ultimate Chaos press release, he was quoted as saying:

“So many people have come up to me saying, ‘Beat his ass,’ and that’s what I’m going to try and do…I must admit, I do have a few Affliction T-shirts, but my girlfriend bought them for me. [Ed. note: SNAP.] I’m enjoying this and can’t wait to get in the cage with Tom. It’s an opportunity of a lifetime for me.”

So let’s peep those odds, shall we?

Bobby Lashley (-550) vs. Bob Sapp (+400)
Pedro Rizzo (-130) vs. Gilbert Yvel (even)
Din Thomas (-295) vs. Javier Vazquez (+235)
Chris Horodecki (-600) vs. William Sriyapai (+450)
Brett Cooper (-400) vs. Waachim Spiritwolf (+320)
Tom Atencio (-160) vs. Randy Hedderick (+130)

Notes: As expected, Sapp isn’t being given a chance in hell to win his fight against Bobby Lashley. We’re not sure why Chris Horodecki, who’s known primarily as a kickboxer, is such an immense favorite against four-time world Muay Thai champ William Sriyapai, who has won nine of his last ten MMA bouts; of the underdogs on this card, Sriyapai is the one to watch. We also don’t know why Din Thomas is facing a dude who has only fought twice since 2003. Vazquez’s record is decent, but let’s just say ring rust could be a problem.

Remember my words, Sapp taps from strikes. 1st round. You cant find a bigger pussy in Japan or US.

-600 for Horodecki popped out at me too. He's good, but is he that good? I dunno. Rizzo vs Yvel is a tough call. I'm going with Yvel. Lashley vs Sapp?....this is gonna be embarassing.

OBI "Lashley vs Sapp?....this is gonna be embarassing." I was thinking more train wreck than anything but yea.... not going to be pretty thats for sure! lol Pedro Rizzo vs. Gilbert Yvel - going to go with Yvel as well, I dont think that Rizzo has what it takes to win this anymore.

That shelf he is sitting on is worth about $10,000. I'm interested in seeing if Lashley can control Sapp. The fight could be pretty close even though Sapp is pretty much a joke.

i thought javier vazquez retired? Sherdog is always harping about him being a topshelf prospect who's body couldn't handle the work.

I'm gonna say the obvious. Why the hell isn't Atencio working on scoring these match-ups for an Affliction Promotion!??? with the limited outside the UFC talent, it seems as though he should be fighting not participating with any other promotion that's scoring these types of names over him

Forrest Griffin thinks Tom Atencio is a faggot for wearing jeans that cost over $200. -10 points.

@Endocat "i thought javier vazquez retired? Sherdog is always harping about him being a topshelf prospect who's body couldn't handle the work." Who on Sherdog has called Javier Vasquez a "prospect". The guys been in MMA for over 10 years. @Judo I'm Right "I'm gonna say the obvious. Affliction has an event about every 7 months, so why wouldn't they lone out fighters for other cards to fufill their contracts since this is probably going to be Affliction's last event.

Look at the records of the fighters that Sriyapai beat. I think they've got the odds right.
