(Props: MMA Weekly)

Weigh-ins for The Ultimate Fighter 8 finale went down earlier today at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, and every fighter successfully made weight — except for Wilson Gouveia, who came in four pounds heavy for his middleweight tilt against Jason MacDonald. Way to set a good example for the new guys, Will. Full results are below…

Efrain Escudero (156) vs. Phillipe Nover (155)
Ryan Bader (205) vs. Vinicius Magalhaes (205)
Kevin Burns (171) vs. Anthony Johnson (171)
Wilson Gouveia (189) vs. Jason MacDonald (184)
Junie Browning (156) vs. Dave Kaplan (156)

Shane Primm (202) vs. Krzysztof Soszynski (205)
Jules Bruchez (205) vs. Eliot Marshall (203)
Kyle Kingsbury (205) vs. Tom Lawlor (204)
Shane Nelson (156) vs. George Roop (153)
Roli Delgado (155) vs. John Polakowski (152)

Update from "Gouveia did not make weight and for safety reasons, the Nevada State Athletic Commission won’t allow him to make a second weight cutting attempt. The bout will go on at a catch weight of 189 pounds, and Gouveia will forfeit 20% of his purse to MacDonald." Weigh-in photos are here.

isnt it a little early to call nover the next anderson silva though if he hasnt even beaten nover yet?
Aaron- December 13, 2008 at 5:30 pm
@ B2thaRad: All Junie gets is breaks. I'm hoping we either see something brilliant from him to help understand why he is still around, or he gets beaten off (in the words of DW). I'm starting to think he is a black sheep relative of someone important in the UFC.

He had to lose four lbs. Maybe they thought that was too much to lose in such a short time.
jaileer- December 13, 2008 at 4:47 pm
what th fuck is "safety reasons?" Everyone gets a second shot at making weight. If he's so fucked up that he can't get 2 hours to shed 4 pounds, should he really be fighting?

Missing weight is one thing, but if the commision wouldn't give him his second shot, i'll give him a pass. The percentage of fighters missing weight the frst time is higher than you non-fighting tuf noobs understand.

I'd like to be the first to say that this group of ultimate fighters by far have the worst nicknames!

Anyone know if there is a stream for this event? Maybe Sopcast? Where I live, I can't get it.
B2thaRad- December 13, 2008 at 2:50 pm
For the love of God give Junie a break already. The guy fucked up. I am sure all of you are so fucking perfect and have never looked like an ass in your entire lives. Couture himself has said that Junie has done everything he and his coaches have asked of him and has been no problem at extreme couture. It is possible to change you know.
Poopy Pooperton- December 13, 2008 at 2:24 pm
This is absurd that Junie is on the main card and Ksos is not. For all the great things you've done for the sport Dana, why the FUCK are you back pedaling now? I can only hope Junie gets destroyed tonight so we won't have to see him again, but from what i saw of Kapplan on the show I don't think my hopes will be fulfilled.

wtf is jules even at this event as a fighter??
emil- December 13, 2008 at 11:38 am
Exactly what does "catch weight" mean?
Can you weigh in at 250 pounds if your supposed to be at 155, and just go with it? If MacDonald would refuse to fight Gouveia, would he had the right to do so?
Someone who's expert on this that can enlighten me with some answers?
TheDonkey- December 13, 2008 at 11:06 am
I'm tired of hearing about Junie. He got his ass kicked so i'm not sure why he's fighting.
CB- December 13, 2008 at 10:34 am
@ tyler

Agreed. A fucking pretzel! Um, like fresh from the oven...with salt and a little spicy brown mustard. Goddamn I'm hungry now.
tyler- December 13, 2008 at 9:49 am
Wilson Gouveia is an unprofessional fuck.I hope The Athlete Jason MacDonald twists him into a fucking pretzel!

@ Hesh to Steel:

I don't watch it. Stopped this season after seeing Junie act like an drunken, immature idiot for the first time.

I think it's a shame that Dana puts on a show that puts MMA in such a bad light. If a new fan tunes into the show and sees guys pissing fruit, do you think they will be eager to tune into anything else associated with MMA?

At least give the guys something to do in the house besides drink. I think that would solve 90% of the bullshit that goes down in the house.

It's really good to see Dana rewarding the biggest idiot on the show. Not only is he fighting tonight, but he's on the main card. Note to future TUF hopefuls: Get drunk, be an ass, break glass on people, start fights, talk yourself up, look less than impressive in the cage, and you will be rewarded.

"Payday Says:

I hope tonight is the last time we ever have to see Junie, and even the Ultimate Fighter show for that matter. "

If you don't like the show, you always have the power to just not watch it. Novel concept, I know.
