Turns Out Rampage will be Fighting in Japan After All

(And that’s why I invented Twitter, Mr. Rampage, so men everywhere could express their feelings.)

Though we reported earlier this week that it seemed as if Quinton “Rampage”  Jackson would not be getting his requested fight at UFC 144 in Japan, it turns out the former UFC light heavyweight champion will indeed be getting the wish he requested in the wake of his loss to Jon Jones at UFC 135. And though Stephan Bonnar was more than willing to face Page, the spot will be given to TUF 8 winner Ryan Bader instead.

Bader is coming off a first round knockout over Jason Brilz at UFC 139 that snapped a two fight losing streak to Jon Jones and Tito Ortiz at UFC 126 and UFC 132, respectively.

A win for either fighter could easily launch them back into the title mix, and given Rampage earns title shots almost as easy as Urijah Faber, if he is able to finish Bader impressively, I am going as far as to predict that he leapfrogs Rashad Evans for another crack at Jones.

UFC 144 goes down February 26th at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.

You know the deal, who you got for this one, Potato Nation?

I see jack off 3 times is still around whispering sweet nothing in everyones ear.
Why can't you do us all a favor and die while ass-raping sheenaphone.

Bader back in the title mix! cant see it happening no matter what happens against Page, and agree with deadPanda, Page finishes him by end of 2nd round

I have to agree with Carmen Valentina; I am not impressed by your performance DangadaDang.

I am wondering just how well Mr. Wonderful will fair when he steps up to the next level of talent. I'm with you 100% if its a PPV, then make it a real fight - not some ShameROCK vs. PORKtiz trilogy bullshit.
XENOPHON- November 25, 2011 at 9:04 pm
Jason Brilz always seemed to be a sacrificial UFC fluffer to me.

No hate, only that out of 7 fights, Brilz has now dropped his last 3 in a row. Something about him to me, was that he never really came across as a tough-mean tear your off guy. Surely he is no slouch, but the smiling or the nice guy (when he should act like Nice-Guy Eddie) is the wrong mix.
That said, I actually hope Zuffa gives him a pass on his 3rd strike. Now that Bellator is has the fix in with Viacom, I think we will see fewer UFC fighters getting discarded so fast. Brilz, I am sure he could get the "PINK SLIP", but I'd like to see what he can do knowing his ass is on da-chopping block....

None of these guys will have a title shot any time soon. There is way too much talent out there. It will be Rashad, A Silva, or Mr Wonderful before either of these jokers. They have already lost to jones in impressive fashion. Who wants to see either of these guys get owned on PPV? Not me. I want a real fight. (Not saying Rashad v Jones will be a real fight but at least it has an interesting story). These guys already lost so who cares?

I agree with XENO. Bader was thrown in the deep end too quickly, Rampage takes this one and makes it look easy.
Miles- November 25, 2011 at 6:52 pm
I suppose a win over Brilz after that performance against Nog deserves something, but he's several wins from title mix again imo. The losses were rough, lost to the same move twice as well
XENOPHON- November 25, 2011 at 6:41 pm
Keeping it real. Master-Bader got a breath of air during his recent win. I have to wonder. How Bader (who I don't dislike) and his mental fared after dropping 2 in row when touted as such a hot prospect?
Miles- November 25, 2011 at 6:02 pm
win for bader = keeps his job haha you have it so backwards
Miles- November 25, 2011 at 6:01 pm
Rampage leapfrogging Rashad? A win for Bader means he's in the title mix? Crazy talk.
XENOPHON- November 25, 2011 at 4:44 pm
Bader = Another UFC sprout that was grown too fast. I am taking Ramp-age although his striking game has surely dwindled in the year to smacking game.
Like Iskander Neptu, I think he summed up the gut feeling watch Tito dominate with ease. That was the first and last time I put cash on Bader. Sorry Tito, your the fan favorite to lose.
@NEW on!
@Irishwolfhound491...I vote you replace Joe Silva! Right, an excellent fight Bonnar-Rampage would be.
MrBlondeSL- November 25, 2011 at 3:54 pm
No way Rampage leapfrogs Rashad. Dana's already seen JBJ beat Page. He wants Rashad to have his chance, and if Rashad beats JBJ that would setup the perfect rematch between Page and Rashad.

Karma you fag you only agree with the Troll because he shares the same bridge you sleep under. Hell your fiance is probably a jarLe of strawberry jelly that you both share too
Deadpanda- November 25, 2011 at 1:44 pm
Well, I see Rampage rolling Bader. I'm calling a TKO in the late 2nd early 3rd. Bader isn't going to be threatening Rampage anywhere as Rampage's striking defense if still phenomenal and his sprawl was good enough for Bones, so we're going to see Rampage use his boxing & counter striking to time Bader out & finish.
Irishwolfhound491- November 25, 2011 at 11:25 am
I understand the logic behind this one but man Bonnar Rampage would have been such a sick fight...
TKRomeo- November 25, 2011 at 11:20 am
This is a good chance for Page to finally get a much needed KO on that glass chin of Baders.
newdeal- November 25, 2011 at 11:06 am
This match is actually brilliant. Rampage wants to retire but he also wants money, so they give him some easier guys from now on so he doesn't get hurt and he can therefore fight more times per year and make more money. Since he has no other skills he will fight until he has enough money he can retire (which will probably be a long time from now unless he has some smart money managers helping him out...which is unlikely given how he was already taken by Juanito)
Iskander Neptu- November 25, 2011 at 10:24 am
Bader... he looks very impressive with that He-Man chest and Peter Dinklage legs. But when TITO rolled over him so easy, the hype train really derailed for me.
Slow striker + underused grappling = Rampage UD.
And a rather boring fight to boot. Bad Joe Silva, bad!
Cup Cheick- November 25, 2011 at 10:20 am
How the hell did you gather he would be in the title mix???
Dagnut- November 25, 2011 at 9:51 am
Rampage is clearly out of the can tell by the fact he's fighting Bader...your logic is skewed me thinks
skeletor- November 25, 2011 at 9:31 am
Danga, keep your worthless opinions to yourself.
KarmaAteMyCat- November 25, 2011 at 9:27 am
I have to agree with the troll.
ThePeoplesTroll- November 25, 2011 at 9:11 am
i honestly think that rampage would lose to jones 9.5 times outta 10 because jones would just run away and pick page apart and page has no weapons to counter with
