Tweet of the Day: Jon Jones Responds to Quinton Jackson’s Spying Claims

Jon Jones jumped on Twitter to respond to Quinton Jackson‘s claims that the UFC light heavyweight champ has employed a spy in Rampage’s camp to feed him gameplan and training secrets being used for their upcoming UFC 135 bout. According to Jones, Jackson’s assertions are BS and he doesn’t need to use dirty tactics to win the fight.

Your move, Quinton.

Wow,hate central. I love how everyone hates a guy trying to be humble and awards jerkoffs like rampage. He loses a fight and claims god told him to fast? He dryhumps reporters? Runs from the police? Lets keep in mind; to be a great fighter does not require someone to be modest, humble, or respectful. So when a guy tries to do so people hate on him for it. I'll be sure to let Jones know if he would like more fans then model himself after the famous rapist Mike Tyson, what a good guy.

There are pics going around Jon of Jones starring in a gay porno! I'm not even joking, it's definitely Jon Jones having sex with some black guy

It's from back before he started doing MMA, he probably needed the cash so he took to doing gay pornos

That's what this is all about, he paints those bible verses all over him so nobody will believe this story when it starts coming out; it's tough to compare the pics to as he is now because he's bulked and gained weight, but check out some of his older pics to compare

Hi my name is Jon Jones. I love MMA blah blah blah. Respect blah blah blah integrity blahhh. I once save some boy from cancer blah blah. God blah. Love blah.

WTF is wrong with this kid....I really hope Rampage Knocks that silly holier than thou BS out of him. F love.

I dont know about the rest of you but I cant wait until Jon Jones gets Matt Serra'd like GSP did. All this "I am above everyone" shit is annoying. Yes he is EXTREMELY athletic, Yes I am even a fan...but I still cant wait until he gets his block smashed and then see how he responds as a fighter and a man.
danomite- August 31, 2011 at 3:59 pm
you're right, and I give him credit for trying to set a good example, that's why I said I'm not gonna let his cockiness keep me from enjoying him. All I'm saying is that no matter how much he tells us how humble and respectful he is, his actions often times tell a different story. I can't speak for the other people on here who don't seem to like him very much but as long as he's not actively being a douche like Koscheck or Anderson I'm not going to let it bother me.
blaphtome- August 31, 2011 at 3:26 pm
Well done, you correctly policed my misuse of the word humility. Generosity, kindness, good will, whatever, you are correct; though it could be said that his attempt to hide the $$ in a handshake was about humility. As far as signing "Champ", I guess that could be in poor judgement but the reality is that almost every young fighter considers himself the "Champ". And, I would assert that if a young fighter doesn't believe that on some level, he has no business getting in a cage. It's easy to make judgements regarding a young fighter's behavior and rhetoric from the outside looking in, but the reality of getting in a cage and facing very dangerous pro athletes who want to literally destroy you can put people in funny places psychologically. Some do cartwheels and scream "yes", some do crazy shit in their monster trucks, some do drugs, some turn into a$$holes. Jon Jones, turns to his spirituality and his principals and yes it sounds douchey to most people when he talks about it, but lets not forget the reality of what those guys do. It's a pretty damn fearsome way to make a living, and at least attempting to be a good guy isn't the worst he could do.

Gotta love the JJ hate. He's young, well spoken, respectful, confident, & completely dominant/exciting in the cage. Can't have that. MMA fans need their darkies to be jive talkin' ghetto thugs who've been knocked out atleast a couple times so they know their place.

Jones denied Rampages accusations, explained his personal philosophy on fighting, then wished Quinton a safe camp.

"That nig... I mean, cocky fake douche. I hope he gets hung... I mean, KTFO!"

hate hate hate.
TIME_TRAVELER_FROM_THE_FUTURE- August 31, 2011 at 12:22 pm
I wish people would stop making excuses for the way he acts by saying "He's young, give him a break. He'll grow out of it."
He's 24 years old. There are 24 year olds who have commuter jobs, kids, a mortgage, pta meetings, 529 plans, IRAs, etc..
He's not 12, age is not an excuse.
P.S. When Fedor started dominating fights he was 24 too. Jones should use him as an example as to how to act.
djp1988- August 31, 2011 at 12:20 pm
@Chippa you make a good point. Rampage is definitely a huge dick, but it's obvious that his personality is wired that way. If was never in the UFC odds are he would be trying to use a woman's titties as earmuffs, but would have far less success. He's just "being 'Page" and being 'Page is being a giant asshole.

Jon Jones on the other hand tries to present himself as perfect, but is constantly having bad press spread about his attitude. He's appears two-faced and anybody who has dealt with the bitchy girl in high school will tell you, is so much worse. It appears that he's trying to trick people, but on such a big platform, you're going to find holes in his speech (how he starts off angry with his response, the whole bullshit with replica belts, etc.). Then he goes through and tries to cover it up with a "nice guy" act (the ending of his response, his talk of respect, etc.).

A lot of champions do get scrutiny, but most of it is for performance. GSP hasn't finished a fight in a while; a couple of UFC's ago, Anderson Silva made you waste a shit ton of money to dance around for 25 minutes, Brock Lesnar (who will always have a stigma being from pro wrestling people WANT to see him fail) can't take a punch.

Jon Jones differs, because he (so far) hasn't had a hole in his game, but he has cast himself as being a shady person, and the only person I've seen do that with any sort of success is Uncle Chael, and again, that's because he is a shameless shady asshole, versus one who wants to be perfect to everyone.

People are always going to find something to bitch about, but this seems a bit more plausible to me. In fairness though, Bones royally pissed me off about the whole replica belt thing, and that was my final nail in the coffin for him.

I'm pretty sure the parents who buy those belts for their kids work pretty fucking hard to pay for those God damn things, you fucking twat.
danomite- August 31, 2011 at 11:59 am
humility (n): the quality or condition of being humble'modest opinion about one's own importance
there's nothing humble about signing autographs "champ" before you have even won the belt. There's nothing humble about whining about being disrespected every time someone says something you don't like. Just look at this self-righteous bullshit he wrote in response to Rampage. He says shit like this all the time. The example you gave about giving a kid money to train isn't even an example of humility, it's an example of generosity.
SnackDaddy- August 31, 2011 at 11:36 am
Man, i don't know what you guys are smoking if you think Rampage is gonna drop Jones. Twenty bucks say Rampage won't even be able to hit Jones with a single power punch. Jones's reach advantage is just too much for Rampage and Rampage ain't the best boxer or the best counter striker to stand and bang with Jones. And i'd hate to imagine what would happen to Rampage if the fight goes to the ground. Basically, Jones has the advantage in every aspect of fighting in this match-up.
The best shot at Jones's belt right now are held by Silva, Machida and Rashad (in the particular order).
pietaster- August 31, 2011 at 9:53 am
I wonder how much he'll spin the religion thing if he gets blown up and then swarmed by someone like Rampage. Has he ever even been punched in the face? I hope Rampage is all over him. Probably not going to happen, but that would be awesome! It would probably ruin him and he just do the old GSP shuffle every fight.
blaphtome- August 31, 2011 at 8:25 am
Give the kid a break. There is nothing false about his humility. I've been present personally when he(privately) slapped a hand full of bills into a kids' hand who he didn't have enough $$ for dues at Jackson's. I've watched him roll and do light stuff with kids who were outta their minds excited to be "workin" with Jones. I'm too old to be a nutthugger so I'm not one of the people who would run up every time he was around the gym; but just from seeing his candid behavior and talking a couple of times, my feeling is that he is completely sincere. He's just too young to understand how it sounds to other people somtimes. Cut him some slack, in 5 yrs he'll look back and have to be a little embarrassed and that's punishment enough for this "offense" you're all whining about. Oh well, haters gonna hate.
tramadoc- August 31, 2011 at 6:54 am
For what it's worth, Jon Jones is not as likeable as some try and make him out to be. At an autograph session he refused to sign "imitation" UFC belts. He said that the fans were disrespecting him by asking him to sign them because they weren't real and they hadn't put in, and I quote, "The years of hard work that it takes to become a REAL champion." What a douche canoe.
Sloppyspray- August 31, 2011 at 6:51 am
I agree with Chipa on this one.

But, as a black man in America JJ will get no love unless he is hood. And when a black man is fighting another black man the more hood of the two will be the one cheered for. And clearly, Rampage is more hood than JJ.

AndyInflammatory- August 31, 2011 at 5:13 am
Rampage sure manhandled Shogun, Rashad, Griffin and Machida - can't wait to see the absolute thrashing he deals out to Jones.

Who's he knocked out lately BTW? Wandy? Marvin Eastman?

I'll have some of what you are smoking good sirs.
Clyde- August 31, 2011 at 5:09 am
In Jones' defence, it's probably very difficult to act humble when you're annihalating everyone who's set foot in front of you so far.
TIME_TRAVELER_FROM_THE_FUTURE- August 31, 2011 at 4:31 am
@SnackDaddy @SquidInk

I think you guys are missing the point.

Most people don't like him as a person, thus wish him to lose.
They know he's a good fighter, that's obvious.

There's little more annoying than a dumbass who thinks he's a genius. JJ can be categorized as one.
SquidInk- August 31, 2011 at 2:55 am
SnackDaddy beat me to it. If you are all bitching about the guy now, I'm gonna hate to read the comments when you see the results of his fight with 'Page.
SnackDaddy- August 31, 2011 at 12:37 am
False humility, dubiousness, shadiness, whatever adverbs you want to throw at John Jones won't change the fact that he is going to destroy Rampage come fight night. If you thought John Jones vs Rua was one-sided, this will be like gang rape for you. John Jones is going toss Rampage around like salad, (like worst than how Rory McDonald handled Nate Diaz). I'd be surprised if Rampage makes it out of the first round.
J-Dog- August 30, 2011 at 11:52 pm
Did Chippa say "all the greats" and "Lesnar" in the same sentence? With a record of 5-2, many would argue that Lesnar is not one of the greats. Plus if you could rewind the Carwin fight and replay it over and over in front of different judges, that fight would have probably been stopped at least 50% of the time at the end of the first round when Lesnar was getting the shit beaten out of him. In that case he'd be 4-3. He's no great.
Kaibo- August 30, 2011 at 11:15 pm
Chippa knows the score. +1
Chippa- August 30, 2011 at 10:24 pm
You guys have got to be kidding me! Why are y'all on here seriously ripping this kid apart? You really have issues because y'all do the same with the other greats; Anderson T'he BurgerKing' Silva, GSP, Fedor, Lesnar, Nick Diaz, etc all hate on them in the dry-spells in between their fights, but as soon as they go in that cage and win you come back on here to talk about how awesome they are.

Step outside of the box for a minute to look at the whole situation. You look at Jon Jones Vs. Rampage Jackson and you can honestly pick out Jon Jones as the immature one or asshole ? Rampage degrades female reportes, picks on all 85 lbs of poor Ariel Helwani, claims God told him to fasten before fights after losing, and has an O.J. Simpson car chase checked off his bucket list. You look at Jon Jones and he's saying all the right things, treats the sport as a privilege and not a stepping stone, and then you see Dana White with his arm around him in a Budweiser commercial and it just pisses y'all off.

Why the hell do y'all hate it when people having success ?! You like him better when he's getting DQ'd for illegally knocking out a retarded deaf guy THAN when he's a champion treating the sport with integrity. WTF! does that say about a lot of y'all?
