Though UFC 108 had a lot of great finishes and battles to choose from, the recipients of the traditional end-of-night bonuses should come as no suprise. Picking up the $50,000 bumps are:
– Knockout of the Night: Paul "Semtex" Daley, for the IED he detonated on Dustin Hazelett.
– Submission of the Night: Cole Miller, for his inverted triangle on Dan Lauzon; I know it’s early, but I’m sure we’ll be seeing that one on "Best of 2010" lists.
– Fight of the Night: Sam Stout and Joe Lauzon. After suffering through Lauzon’s takedowns and elbows in the opening minutes, Stout put on the striking performance of his life en route to a lopsided decision.
Other notes on the evening…
— The long-delayed showdown between the victorious Rashad Evans and Quinton "B.A. Baracus" Jackson is tentatively scheduled for May.
— Dana White named Jon Fitch and Josh Koscheck as possible next opponents for Paul Daley; Semtex would also welcome a match with Thiago Alves. After the event, Daley apologized again for his victory celebration: "It’s not very honorable to stand over a guy after you just knocked him out and shoot him in the head with a pretend gun. That’s just not cool. Then to wind his coach up a little bit by laughing, it’s not a cool thing to do but you know when you’re full of adrenaline you do stupid things."
— 41-year-old Boxing champ James Toney tracked DW down to the post-event press conference and heckled him about getting a shot in the UFC. Though Toney didn’t mention which fighter he’d like to take on, he still guaranteed that it would be "the biggest fight ever, period, biggest event, period, anywhere." Toney vowed that he’d show up at White’s house next if they didn’t work something out. White seems to actually be considering this.

Ha ha. Ah, that is totally something Mcsweeny would say.
