James Toney looked like a half-sucked milk dud Couture spit into a pile in the corner of the cage.

I had a hard time hating Toney, but only because he didn't speak English...I couldnt understand almost anything he said. I understood "Pris-es" but only because he had a visual aid that cued me to "Princess."

Frankie E has BJs number, and there's nothing BJ can do about it. BJ is a much more exciting fighter and it will be a shame watching GM and FE lay on eachother.

I would prefer to watch Nate Diaz and BJ go at it, but oh well. Those Diaz brothers may be dumb as shit, but at least they're exciting.

The people on here talking about Maynard coming in and beasting Edgar must be borderline retarded. Their first fight was a total LnP special. If you thought Edgar-Penn was boring, imagine how boring it will be to see Gray Maynard land 2 overhand rights and 2 takedowns a round while sitting in guard for at least 20 minutes of a 25 minute fight.

I have always like BJ Penn, so with that in mind I must reiterate the past two posts here.
BJ your corner-men and trainers did you a huge disservice last night.
They did nothing to help you prepare for this fight and even less to motivate you during the fight.
Now your camp needs to completely re-evaluate your entire preparation for every future fight. IMO some of them just need to be let go.

To BJ personally, you need to have a very hard look inside BJ Penn to find the courage to make drastic changes in your training, or retire with some dignity and admit to yourself that you are just not prepared to make the sacrifices that are required to be competitive in the "new era" UFC.
Your performance was lackluster at best, and disgraceful at worst.

I was enjoying the fights... And then Toney came out and I couldn't stop craving chocolate pudding.... Then Bj came out and I couldn't stop falling asleep.

Bj needs a whole new camp his corner sucked and his game plan sucked. When do you see someone get dominated on the feet in 10 rounds of fighting and still not try hard for takedowns. He could take frankie down and was far superior to hum on the ground, had he taken him down more it would have been a better night for bj. He's half descent as a striker but his jiujitsu is very good yet most fidgets he sounds the majority of the time trying to avoid goo g to the ground

BJ Penns corner...WTF?!? I thought the audio went out on the tv when they went to BJ's corner between rounds. It felt like they were afraid to tell him he was losing and he needed to start fucking fighting. Do you wanna lick blood off your gloves at the end of the night or dont you BJ???

So, here's what's gonna happen in the lightweight division:

Maynard will win a decision over Edgar, thus one of the most boring fighters in the UFC will be a title holder.

But he will not keep the belt for long. Dunham will submit Sherk, and then he might have to submit someone else before moving on to submitting Maynard for the title. Dunham will keep the title for a long time.

Also, during the fights last night, they showed some trailers for the new TUF show and Im starting to feel like UFC is really riding the shit talking train straight into Pro WrestlingVille. The last 2 cards were promoted mostly thru trash talk via Chael and then Toney and now you got this joker Kos talking about GSP to push the show. I dont mind the shit talking, and I agree that it can make for a more exciting build up to a fight but its gotta be based on something substantial, or atleast come from a maniac like Toney. It just seems forced coming from Koschek and being aimed at GSP, who has never shit in anyone's cereal.

Frankie could end up being a good champ for the UFC if he can stayed as motivated as he was against BJ last night. He showed a lot of heart and incredible pace. I give him a lot of credit for pushing the fight, even in the final seconds knowing he had the fight in the bag and not coasting. Im expecting BJ to announce his retirement after last night. I just dont see where BJ or Ken Flo can go from here.

Lauzon BEASTED last night!! One of the best MMA performances I have seen, albeit against a can. I would like to go back and watch the fight again to count how many transitions he hit during the last minute of the fight.

Im a huge Diaz fan but it was funny to see how quick he stopped hitting that taunt button after he got caught. He changed Marcus' nickname from "The Irish Hand Grenade" to "The Irish Head Grenade" tho. Dude looked like he had shrapnel in his dome.

Overall, a lackluster card, but you kinda expect a party to suck when you hear Lay Gaynards invited.

I don't see the sports as being in competition I've been watching boxing for 25 years mma about 12 and still get excited by both sports.

His excuse will almost certainly be what a lot of the comments from BJ fans on have already focused on - he just looked bored and unmotivated. He only knows how to beat less talented fighters, but refuses to learn anything beyond what he already knows. He looked bored and unmotivated because Edgar made him lose heart and look that way.

It wasn't the worst night of fights, but just not all that entertaining. The Co Main Event and Main Event ended up being kinda lackluster. Edgar looked good though, gotta give him lots of credit. I'm disappointed in Kenny for that performance. And Randy...Randy please, for the love of god. Never again in the nut huggers.

I am not excited about Edgar at all. He's won almost every fight by decision and does not have much in the way of knockout power, so I do not look forward to 5 rounds of lay and pray and girly punches that don't do much. They don't even seem to accumulate like Diaz's. I see him as the love child of Guida and Shields - crazy energy and speed but ultimately boring with little chance of a finish.

Outside of heavyweight, I am not excited about the title pictures at all. MW and LHW are on hold due to injury, WW is on hold due to the show. All we've got to look forward to is the HW and LW and the LW doesn't look all that interesting now.
