UFC 142 GIF Party: The Finishes & Other Highlights

Brazilian fans are credited with being the most raucous audience in the world, and last night’s fighters gave them plenty to cheer about. Six of the nine bouts ended via knock out or submission*, with five of those stoppages coming in the first round.

Chokes, knees, and even a spinning wheel kick punctuated last night’s fights (*as did a controversial referee stoppage). Pop on in for a motion picture tribute to UFC 142.

palhares did let go when told by the ref, thats what he is supposed to do when he is not sure if the opponenet is tapping.

In my experience there is always a level of torque you can apply before causing ruptures. With that said, adrenaline being a part of it and all you may apply that pressure immediately, I won’t knock someone for cranking. Case in point: Mir vs. Big Nog 2: Frank cranks + breaks but lets go on the tap. Same thing with Mir/Hardonk. But Palhares simply doesn’t respond to tapping. He is reckless and should be fined after almost every submission win.

Palhares is a crazy-ass gorilla. He has to realize that when he heel hooks someone they are probably going to tap based on fear alone. I don’t know if he needs to put all that force on peoples legs, so fast.

Palhares doesn’t register the fact when someone taps you should let go. Again, lots of fighters out there…Not a lot of martial artists. Fuck You Rousimar. (Anyone else see he clearly held on to that late?)I wanna see that fool get knocked out again while complaining to the ref.

Is Mike Pyle wearing a wig? Fuck, maybe it’s just been that long since I saw him fight on TV, probably since the Hathaway fight (or maybe it was in straight-to-video Universal Solider film), but didn’t he have like a buzz cut? He kind of looks like a skinny Jimmy Breuer in that gif.
