(“Fruit smoothies are on me tonight, buddy!”)
The UFC paid out a juicy $1,358,000 in disclosed salaries and bonuses for UFC 91, with the night’s headliners walking away with over half of that total. The numbers are below; keep in mind that they don’t include income from sponsorships, undisclosed “locker room bonuses” or pay-per-view percentages, or deductions due to expenses such as insurance and taxes. And here we go…
Brock Lesnar: $450,000 (includes $200,000 win bonus)
Randy Couture: $250,000
Gabriel Gonzaga: $110,000 (includes $55,000 win bonus)
Dustin Hazelett: $88,000 (includes $14,000 win bonus, $60,000 Submission of the Night bonus)
Kenny Florian: $80,000 (includes $40,000 win bonus)
Jeremy Stephens: $76,000 (includes $8,000 win bonus, $60,000 Knockout of the Night bonus)
Jorge Gurgel: $70,000 (includes $60,000 Fight of the Night Bonus)
Aaron Riley: $68,000 (includes $4,000 win bonus, $60,000 Fight of the Night bonus)
Demian Maia: $40,000 (includes $20,000 win bonus)
Joe Stevenson: $35,000
Nate Quarry: $25,000
Mark Bocek: $18,000 (includes $9,000 win bonus)
Matt Brown: $16,000 (includes $8,000 win bonus)
Tamdan McCrory: $10,000
Alvin Robinson: $7,000
Josh Hendricks: $8,000
Rafael dos Anjos: $4,000
Ryan Thomas: $3,000
Underpaid: The image of Rafael dos Anjos’s head being knocked clean off his shoulders will be replayed in SpikeTV specials and “Ultimate Knockouts” DVD compilations for years to come, so I really hope the guy can get some royalties out of it. In general, everyone getting less than $8,000 to show is being exploited, straight-up, no matter how badly their fights went. Three or four thousand dollars isn’t enough to make up for the sacrifice that the job requires.
Overpaid: Jorge Gurgel, by exactly $60,000. Scoring the Fight of the Night award will only encourage this doofus to keep brawling (and losing) instead of implementing effective gameplans. Before he joined the UFC, Gurgel was 9-1, with eight wins by submission and the other via strikes. In his seven UFC appearances, he’s achieved zero wins by stoppage. What happened to this guy? And can his $60k bonus instead be donated to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund?

commentsare you joking?(his student is racking up a highlight reel of submissions) when it went to the ground Jorge just moved his hips created space and got up.
One thing that cracks me up is that Dustin Hazelett (Dustin is Black Belt under Jorge Gurgel in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu) was on the main card and Jorge Grugel wasnt.... seems like JG would get the point ITS MMA not kickboxing.
... that's a good one. I've always wondered what gets into them after the fights. Sh*t, patting another dude on the a** in football is too much for me, I'd never do it. I was an amateur boxer for 16 years and NEVER did I kiss another opponent after a fight... I can't figure where these dudes get the urge to kiss.

Am I the only one that finds it odd that other men come online to comment on fighters' physique and overall attractiveness? Who cares if Hendricks looks like he is covered in kneecaps with tattoos drawn by a prepubescent/drunk MC Escher? Who cares if Gonazaga's back looks like a sasquatch's twat? I could care less if it were Clint Howard and Joseph Merrick fighting it out, as long as it was entertaining. Know what I’m saying' (upside down comma) dog?

I still don't see where I misused an apostrophe. Is it possible that your retarded?
And how long has Brock been getting paid 250k to fight!? I hope not since his first UFC fight!? He should have gotten 3k for his first just like the other suckers!
I think not.
Oh, and did you mean to put a comma after your oh like me? If so, then you are an idiot.
Seriously, when you pluralize things with an apostrophe, you could be correctly citing rocket science and still look like an idiot.
Just my two cent's. (Oh, yes i went there!)
YOu guys should be hiring private eyes's, calling Colombo...basically getting yourself engulfed in the real 300 lb gorilla in the room...er cage...YEA thats Lesnor and his OBVIOUS steriod use.
When you take into acount not only has no other heavyweight in MMA history been able to sport his weight and still be as ripped as GI JOE..or how he shared the stage and the road for years with WWE wrestlers bleeding roids and sometimes killing their family's..ala Chris Benoit.
Lesnor has never directly answered the question, instead he fire's back "I have never failed a drug test"...yea dickface, neither did the entire East German Olympic team for years..it can be done.......
No, instead I'm responding to your horrific argument that because you guys don't like a fighter choosing to strike instead of fight on the ground...yea, the whole "mixed" portion of MMA, that makes him not worthy of a hefty fight of the night purse...for pulling off a hell of a fight...
Dana wants to see two guys put everything in the cage...and sometimes when they do and its a back and forth battle for fifteen mins....that deserves FOTN....
So please ease off fighters that fight their hearts out using what strategy they choose, and somebody get me a hair sample from mr Cockface...any volunteers?
Why do you think that just because you wouldn't fight in a UFC event for $4,000 that anyone who does it being exploited? People have different utility functions.
