Steroids in MMA
Which MMA Fighter Will Test Positive For Steroids Next?

Marquee Fighters Earn Nearly $1.2 million at UFC 92

The UFC handed out $1,561,000 in disclosed salaries and bonuses for Saturday’s "Ultimate 2008" card, with the fighters in the three main events taking home the lion’s share. Quinton Jackson came out on top, adding a $100,000 win bonus and $60,000 Knockout of the Night bonus to his $225,000 base salary, while Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira came in second place simply on the basis of his meaty quarter-million-to-show payout. Complete figures are below:

Quinton Jackson
: $385,000 (includes $100,000 win bonus, $60,000 Knockout of the Night bonus)
Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira: $250,000
Wanderlei Silva: $200,000
Rashad Evans: $190,000 (includes $65,000 win bonus, $60,000 Fight of the Night bonus)
Forrest Griffin: $160,000 (includes $60,000 Fight of the Night bonus)
Frank Mir: $90,000 (includes $45,000 win bonus)
Cheick Kongo: $90,000 (includes $45,000 win bonus)
Yushin Okami: $32,000 (includes $16,000 win bonus)
Antoni Hardonk: $28,000 (includes $14,000 win bonus)
CB Dollaway: $20,000 (includes $10,000 win bonus)

Matt Hamill: $20,000 (includes $10,000 win bonus)
Dean Lister: $19,000
Ryo Chonan: $18,000
Reese Andy: $15,000
Brad Blackburn: $14,000 (includes $7,000 win bonus)
Pat Barry: $10,000 (includes $5,000 win bonus)
Mustafa Al-Turk: $7,000
Mike Massenzio: $5,000
Mike Wessel: $4,000
Dan Evensen: $4,000

Underpaid: Matt Hamill, who somehow had a lower base salary than his opponent, Reese Andy. Between his high-profile fights and his participation in the UFC’s push to get MMA regulated in New York State, Hamill deserves more than what his TUF-guy sucker-contract is paying him.

Overpaid: It seems like the UFC was banking on Big Nog possibly being a long-reigning champion. Now it looks like his peak is long behind him, but he’s still being paid like an A-lister. Will they ask him to renegotiate?

Brock won't fall for the same move but I doubt that Mir will try it. Also, if you think Brock was "dominating" him you need to watch that fight again.[ I watch it all the time with a chaser of Kimbo getting KTFO] Mir set the trap and Brock walked right in, and it will happen again. Nobody thought Mir would beat Nog and look what happened.

also, why to the win bonuses fluctuate so much per fighter? does it go by the odds or part of their contract or just some arbitrary number dana likes that day?

It is calculated by the number of unborn fetuses Rampage kills that day.

i'm surprised rashad got so little as an undefeated title contender. if you take away the bonuses he doesn't have a very high base salary for the new champ.

Okami should also be getting more then a $16k base salary, maybe they can give him evensen's money.

i agree with the dude who said it looked like CB tapped. Also how the hell is CB Dolloway off that 7k and 14k contract already?
babcock- December 30, 2008 at 2:34 pm

Brock won't come at Mir in the same way this time but that's because he's improving at the moment. I really do want Frank to win but I'm not going to pretend that it'll be easy for him. But I think we all need to get behind him even if he can be a bit of a smug twat at times, he's still the lesser of two evils.

i want anyone in the world to be heavy weight champ other than brock lesnar but i don't see mir beating him, i did however see nog beating him. this is why i'm sad.
MC Obscene- December 30, 2008 at 11:21 am
Smoking crack when Mir already beat Lesnar.....hmmmmmm.....I think you need to check whats in your pipe dude! Mir will win and when he does I want you to come on here and admit that you are a fucking loser!
Lyquid- December 30, 2008 at 11:07 am
Go watch the Lesnar v Mir fight again and pin point besides the part where he was getting hammerfisted where he was getting owned. The punches that supposedly dropped mir didn't even land and he slipped. I'll go with mir again to beat Brock.
vrane- December 30, 2008 at 10:37 am
Hardonk should get more. He is entertaining.
Crap Factory- December 30, 2008 at 9:36 am
Mir was underpaid.
Armbreaker- December 30, 2008 at 9:24 am
Matt Hamill and Frank Mir are grossly underpaid. I didn't watch TUF this year, so I can't understand why so many people don't like Mir. He does a great job as commentator for the WEC events, and I admire the way he has come back after the horrific motorcycle accident. I don't know if Mir will beat Lesnar, but I will be cheering for him.
Phunnybonz- December 30, 2008 at 9:24 am
Damn it, clicking reply doesn't quote the comment being replied to....ahhh forget it...
Phunnybonz- December 30, 2008 at 9:19 am
LMAO!! He would own.

Lesnar TKO via Mir passing out from the excrutiating pain of having those cinderblock-sized hands shoved into his ass repeatedly.
Lone Wolf- December 30, 2008 at 8:25 am
Yes rooting for Lesner....even though I can't stand them both....but damn if he can do that to Randy....Franks in for a world of hurt....
Fenix- December 30, 2008 at 8:20 am
Mike Massenzio: $65,000 (includes $60,000 Submission of the Night bonus)
CB Dollaway: $10,000

There, FIXED! :)

Ben, can you PLEASE (because I don't know how) make a GIF. of this fuck (CB Tappaway) tapping out of that guillotine while Yves Lavign was on the other side of the action missing the tap? This is fucked up! I saw this again last night in HD, rewinding it over and over and Tappaway finally got away with it. Bastard!

Fenix- December 30, 2008 at 8:18 am
Congrats to Rampage! He deserves it!

Rashad and Mir = Underpaid.

BTW, "War Chest Cock"

Lone Wolf- December 30, 2008 at 8:15 am
Lesner by total domination....via total domination.....
What I - December 30, 2008 at 8:14 am
is, I am in fact not smoking crack. and we'll see. Just like no-one thought he had a chance against Lesnar the first go round and almost everyone picked Nog to dominate Mir before the fight. Mir picks Lesnar apart this time around...

Justin, Not jumping on any train, been riding this one fro awhile and got a little cash for calling the fight right the other night. I respect Mir for coming back from his accident....Not an easy thing to do.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed that Mir was getting his anus ripped out when he fought Lesnar. Lesnar is just to big and too fast. He was obviously taking his time with Herring and Randy. He's scary. I hate him, but he is scary.
Justin- December 30, 2008 at 8:05 am
Everybody's jumping on the Mir train. Let's see how long it takes for it to get derailed.
