UFC 90 was profoundly disappointing, and UFC 91 doesn’t offer much outside of Randy vs. Brock, but the UFC promises to make up for it and then some with “The Ultimate 2008,” their stacked-to-death year-end card (December 27th, Las Vegas). The official lineup for the event was announced yesterday with the additions of Matt Hamill, C.B. Dollaway, Cheick Kongo, and Yushin Okami. Here’s what we’ll be seeing…
Main card
Forrest Griffin vs. Rashad Evans (for light-heavyweight championship)
Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Frank Mir (for interim heavyweight championship)
CB Dollaway vs. Mike Massenzio (middleweights)
Wanderlei Silva vs. Quinton Jackson (light-heavyweights)
Cheick Kongo vs. Mustafa Al-Turk (heavyweights)
Undercard
Yushin Okami vs. Dean Lister (middleweights)
Antoni Hardonk vs. Mark Burch (heavyweights)
Matt Hamill vs. Reese Andy (light-heavyweights)
Ryo Chonan vs. Brad Blackburn (welterweights)
Dan Evensen vs. Pat Barry (heavyweights)
Why Dollaway vs. Massenzio gets a main card slot over Okami vs. Lister is anyone’s goddamned guess. But it’s hard to complain with those three headlining fights. Any early predictions? Remember, “The Ultimate 2008″ isn’t the only card the UFC is putting on in December — there’s also “Fight for the Troops” on December 10th in Fayetteville, North Carolina, and the TUF 8 finale on December 13th (location TBA). Both events will be aired on Spike.

commentshis real name must be bob.
look how reluctant record labels were to let itunes/etc sell music by the track...
until 'piracy' becomes a major issue (it never will for a market as limited as mma) ain't shit gonna change.
....but you still get a gold star.
Right idea wrong names. replace with Randy or Brock as Forrest and Rashad are LHW's not HW's
How can they have an interim HW title when they also have the HW champ (winner of Randy vs. Brock)? Boooooooooooooogusssssssss.
because who ever wins out of mir-nog gets a title shot at either forrest or rashad! then they will scrap the interim
anyone else think the hamill/andy fight is a really good matchup?
Yes, Okami is possibly the top contender at 185, but his fights are painful to watch.
I think that Mir definetly has the chance of beating Nog. if you go back to the two Pride FC fights that Nog had with Fedor, especially the second one, you can see how Fedor really tied Nog up on the ground and just had a great defense against Nog's submission attempts. Mir is skilled on the ground - maybe one of the best in all of MMA. He has the potential to tie Nog up on the ground and stuff his submissions.
If they keep it on their feet, Nog most certainly has the advantage. Mir's cardio is still questionable. Watch the vid of his fight with Brock. He was gassed in under two minutes! Nog's cardio and his iron jaw are not in question.
Nogueira vs. Mir - Nog by Submission 2nd Round
Silva vs. Rampage - Rampage by KO in the 1st
CB - loss by tapout, but he will act like he didn't tap
This event is the only one left this year worth paying to watch. I'd rather catch the randy n brock on free video clips online the next day than pay for the whole thing.
Too bad you can't buy and just watch one fight of your choice for like 10 bucks with pay per view. Pay per Match or buy the whole event , that would be innovated ( think that's the right word , sounds about right but looks funny to me = ). Plus then the ufc and other would really know who the big draws where with out having to look and guess from tv ratings
Ok, here ya go...
-Forrest Griffin vs. Rashad Evans (for light-heavyweight championship)
Forrest by exhaustive, bloody and frustrating decision.
- Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Frank Mir (for interim heavyweight championship)
Team Good beats Team Evil. Mir will come out strong early, but Nog will find the inner strength to KO Mir. That's right, KO; no submission.
- Wanderlei Silva vs. Quinton Jackson (light-heavyweights)
Wandy will channel his former "Ax Murdering" self and come back as the Wandy from the Pride FC days minus the stomps and soccer kicks. He will completely overwhelm Jackson and defeat him by KO...most likey knocking Rampage's head off his shoulders. Wandy will then test positive for steroids immediately after the fight.
Nog via Submission
Silva via KO
Al-Turk via TKO (GnP)
Okami via Boredom
Hamill via Hugging.
Not overly fussed about the other bouts - Isn't it weird how CB came runnerup in TUF but has fought more since the finale than Sadollah has since winning it...
Get a 145lb division up and running, another UFC Belt up for grabs.
5 title holders which mean every event should have a title match.
If Champions defend there titles 4 times a year thats 20 shows covered
with championship fights.....
Any Thoughts???
WAR SILVA!
Can't wait to see Nog and Mir roll.
Either way this card is STACKED and Im gonna order it fo sho! Man I really hope they find a fight for Anderson Silva for UFC91. I want order it but Kenflo vs Joe daddy as the co-main? Maybe if it was Huerta vs Joe daddy. Kenflo really killed it for me in his last fight and then the comments about Huerta greasing up.
