UFC 96 Video Promo: Rampage Is Having a Meltdown Trying to Compute That In His Brain Right Now

(Props: BloodyElbow)

Well, we’re nine days away from the most-anticipated [Columbus, Ohio-based] UFC card in history since last March. No, the lineup isn’t exactly knocking anybody’s dick off. But people bitched about UFC 95, and that turned out to be insane from top to bottom, so who really knows? Above is the extended promo clip for the night’s two main events. Quinton Jackson says Keith Jardine‘s chin is suspect, and vows that somebody’s gonna pay for making him go back to the chilly U.K. to train. Jardine says he an overall better fighter that Jackson, and plans on testing his spirit.

Meanwhile, both Gabriel Gonzaga and Shane Carwin take pride in the fact that they finish fights. The undefeated Carwin still hasn’t been out of the first round in his career, which is both a good thing (can anybody make it to the second bell against this guy?) and potentially a bad thing (will he gas out if it goes to rounds two and three?). But now that Carwin is training with Greg Jackson’s camp, he’ll be able to draw from the wisdom of guys like Keith Jardine, Nate Marquardt, Rashad Evans, and GSP, and the brilliant gameplans of the team’s namesake. Deal with that, Team Link.

— Quinton Jackson is not Lyoto Machida‘s biggest fan: "I mean, he’s good, he’s undefeated, but he’s boring. If I was the promoter of a show I wouldn’t have guys like that fighting on my show.” And so the trash-talk for an eventual face-off begins…

— Sore as hell from his three-round burner against Troy Mandaloniz last Saturday, Rampage’s Wolfslair teammate Paul Kelly is dropping to lightweight.

— Keith Jardine’s friendship with Rashad Evans would prevent him from fighting "Sugar" for the UFC light-heavyweight title. If it comes to that. Which it won’t.

I like how Jardine is speaking in front of a pyramid made out of beer kegs... that is some pretty serious trainning!!!

@ Ruger

your out of your fukin dome if you think GSP could even stand a chance against Silva, GSP might have beat the 155 champ but Silva, He's knocking out 205 ers

Can rampage really handle yet another meltdown?
Dmonicideals- February 26, 2009 at 4:42 pm
The only reason Jackson wouldn't have Lyoto in his promotion is because he would get his ass kicked all day on the main event of every one of his cards.
Dmonicideals- February 26, 2009 at 4:41 pm
the anonymous 1st is a fucking idiot.

Rampage: "Im ina state of mind where it don't matter"

Thats the same way he was when he was plowing his truck into pregnant women. Jardine is gonna have to watch himself

In the Rampage Fighting Championships talented undefeated fighters coming off a highlight real KO need not apply, too boring.

@No Love For Nate

Nothing against him, I just can't see him beating Silva. Not that I think its possible, I just don't think he will. It would be awesome if he could finish him like he did Wilson but I feel like GSP is at a whole other level than Nate is right now so hes the best shot.

eventually jachson is going to find Lyoto so boring that Lyoto will put him to sleep, with a right hand. ain't nobody gonna beat that guy for a while.

Jardine could barely handle an emaciated Brandon Vera...If Rampage doesn't win this fight I'll kiss my brother's ass and call it gravy!

I am going to buy UFC 96. Go Jardine and Carwin! I hope Keith gets more than $10,000 to show.

Hey, why no love for Nate?
Ruger- February 26, 2009 at 2:12 pm
Carwin vs. Lesner would be awesome, just to see two guys of that size fight. But I think the Jackson Camps only chance at all 5 titles is if GSP fights Silva.
Aj's gay lover!- February 26, 2009 at 2:00 pm
Jardine is a homo like my boyfriend AJ.....I love you sweety, daddy is coming in with the vasoline. I put some on the tip of my dick.
Whoa!- February 26, 2009 at 1:58 pm
The Jackson Camp is crazy. They could have all the belts with Kenflo, GSP, Nate, Evans and Carwin. Scary shit. That would make an awesome magazine cover.

man, keith jardine is so full of shit. about 4 months ago, i recognized him as he was leaving a restaurant and i waved at him. he looked kinda confused, but he waved back. i approached him and started talking to him. i told him i was a fan and introduced myself. he shook my hand and told me appreciated the support. we talked about his win against brandon vera and he said that he thought it was a close fight. he said he didn;t know who he was fighting next. i asked him if i could get a picture of him and he was cool with that. after this, he shook my hand again and i wished him good luck on his next fight. as i walked into the restaurant, it finally hit me. this guy calls himself the dean of mean. he wasn't fucking mean at all. he was actually very nice. like vice of nice. yea, so keith jardine isn't as mean as he thinks he is.
Jay K.- February 26, 2009 at 1:49 pm
I dunno, his fight against Chuck was more like Jardine vs. The Ghost of Chuck Lidell.

Still though, you're right, he does have a ridiculously high bar set compared to the others in the Jackson camp. Isn't K-Flo working out with them right now to prep for BJ (if he ever gets around to defending the belt)? Would be pretty crazy if 3/5 belts were all in one camp.

I like Jardine ;_;
Me- February 26, 2009 at 1:47 pm
Where did all the Gonzaga hype come from? I said it before, look at his UFC debut. He hasn't fought anybody worthy of note and won. Cro-cop no longer counts as his decline has been steeper than his rise, his fight with Gonzaga only heralded the truth of it.
In Jardine's Defense- February 26, 2009 at 1:41 pm
True, he does seem to be lagging behind the rest of the camp. But those guys are also ridiculously athletic fighters.

Anyone could look like shit when they're being compared to Georges. I mean, George just made one of the best P4P fighters in the world look like shit.

A lot of people shit on Jardine, but he always puts on pretty good shows. Who knows, he might beat Rampage the same way he beat Liddell.
Jay K.- February 26, 2009 at 1:35 pm
Does anybody else get the feeling that Jardine is like the unpopular kid in high school when it comes to team Jackson? His training probably incorporates the "me too" exercise where he tries to catch up to GSP, Rashad and Marquardt as they are desperately trying to ditch him. I mean, he just doesn't seem to anywhere near the same skills as anyone else in that camp.
Dave W- February 26, 2009 at 1:31 pm
anyway, carwin already seems like he could be a potential threat to any heavyweight. but with jackson coaching him? he could even be scarier. especially if he tweaks his nipples.
