UFC 98 Danavlog: The Final Preparations

With "Evans vs. Machida" signaling the end of a five-week UFC drought, the anticipation and nervous energy runs high in this video-blog-recap of Wednesday and Thursday. President White is in good spirits, checking out the new, heavier version of the UFC championship belt, cruising around in the ultimate guidomobile, and torching some poor schmuck who had the misfortune of showing up in a paisley shirt. ("You and the Revolution have a good day. Say hi to Apollonia for me.") Later, he presses palms at Thursday’s press conference, and has a very cordial phone conversation with Chuck Liddell, who’s his usual lucid self. Dana White has nothing to do with the UFC being entertaining.... he makes obvious decisions... and has the luck of people backing him with money. Throw aside his obvious lack of personal and professional skills... he is the Don King of MMA... controlling and manipulating. As fast as the sport is growing it would grow faster and with less opposition if Dana wasn't around.
As for him being a cool boss... sure... but there is a time and place to act certain ways. He is busy trying to appeal to the fans and fighters and be edgy.... he should handle business and let the fighters appeal to the fans. Dana is a fag and he 69's Brock Lesnar.

Ive never before been annoyed by Matt Serra until his loudmouth ass stole the thunder from Machida when he and White were talking before the press conference... I dont know if its enough to make me go for Hughes, but christ his new yawk squawking annoyed the hell outta me when all I wanted was to hear about the Dragon!

I don't really have an opinion of the Dana White that runs the UFC and is thought of as a bully businessman, loudmouth, success story, homophobe, misogynist, innovator.. whatever... he puts on entertaining fight shows that I usually watch and occasionally even pay for..

but the Dana White that is talking to a video camera while dialing/talking on his phone while driving his manual transmission Ferrarri... FUCK THAT GUY, he might kill me.

I would actually really like to see Liddell fight in Affliction. I think it is about the right amount of competition for him if he wants to continue fighting. I mean, yeah, hes old as fuck, but c'mon, if the man wants to fight, I'll watch. Whether he gets his shit kicked in or not, all his fights have been entertaining.
