UFC Dream-Fight Alert: Lyoto Machida vs. Brock Lesnar

Lyoto Machida UFC MMABrock Lesnar UFC MMA champion
(Foot-sweeps vs. hammer fists: Who ya got??)

UFC 120 (November 13, 2010; New York City) will be headlined by a heavyweight title fight between Lyoto Machida and Brock Lesnar, according to a report we just pulled out of our asses. Okay, maybe it’s too early to put a date on that matchup, but light-heavyweight #1 contender Machida is already looking ahead to bigger opponents — like, way bigger. As he tells Tatame:

"I don’t think about fighting at heavyweight division, but I think about a challenge, maybe against the heavyweight champion…My focus, for sure, is on my division now, later is later. Maybe a fight against Brock Lesnar. He’s a huge guy, showed himself very aggressive and strong, who knows if one day we can fight… I respect him as a fighter, he’s very strong, but I’m professional and I’d like to test myself.”

Ballsy, Lyoto. It’s hard to find a heavyweight who will call out Big Brock, let alone a 205′er. Since Lesnar would probably enjoy a 50-pound weight advantage on fight day (see also: Lesnar vs. Couture), this hypothetical matchup hearkens back to the "technique vs. size" matchups of the UFC’s early days — except Brock has plenty of technique himself when it comes to wrestling. If there was ever a reason to hope that Machida beats Rashad Evans next Saturday and keeps the belt for a while, this is it.

That being said, Lesnar takes this one by TKO.

YESSS!!! Keep over looking Rashad Evans, Keep doubting his skills, Keep hating Rashad... I LOVE being his only fan & the only guy with a smile on my face every time Rashad drops someone like 3rd period french class! Not too mention the $$$$ won off these clowns that keep picking Rashad as the "underdog" Keep it up...

"Bored Retards".........hti that nail on the head, Iron Clad! How about this one..GSP vs. 1997 Randy Couture. Ive got GSP by way of "Super Punch" with a x2 multipluer! Or better yet Uriah Faber vs. the 06' Dallas Cowboys, that one is a toss up.

He kinda does have little legs huh? I would venture to say those are my calves (208) on a guy who's close to 300. 7 kicks. Brock would CTFD. Chopped the Fuck Down.
keydogg- May 15, 2009 at 12:35 pm
That would be an interesting fight. I want to see if Brock can take some serious leg kicks from a really good striker. He seems to have chicken legs for some his size. A few good leg kicks and his wrestling skills will quickly diminish.

Maybe Machida should spend less time fantasizing about fights that will never happen and spend more time on not being boring........ Oh god I just nodded off typing this about Machida.
clutchy hopkins- May 15, 2009 at 10:42 am
yeah, mir v.s. machida would be much better to look forward to. lesnar is just blah

Fuck I hate Lesnar! Sooo fukken boring to watch, boring one dimensional fighter. He's the Shaq of MMA. "look at me, I'm huge and pounding on people in my weight class, yet, i somehow have a 50 pound advantage over them, and toss them about like school children. Face it, if Randy was the same size, fuck it, if anyone was the same size as Lesnar, they would absolutely fuck him up. Guy is a one trick pony, and as soon as other juiced up washouts from WWE start cashing in on MMA, you're gonna see him lose, repeatedly.

Epic battle between the merits of human urine and horse testosterone.

The really interesting fight would be Mir and Machida.
IronClad- May 15, 2009 at 9:50 am
haha this is absolutely re fuckin diculous. This is more rediculous than suggesting GSP vs Anderson Silva. My god what a bunch of bored retards that try to entertain these match ups.

Machida by unanimous at the very least.

Lesnar is big and strong, but let's face it... he ain't fast enough for the Dragon kids! Machidas striking 'could' put Brock away. Randy stunned him hard when he popped him in the nose, Machida is a very precise striker and can place shots where he needs them.

Rashad doesn't have a chance against Machida, he'll get frustrated and wade into Lyoto and get dealt with or out pointed by a large majority.

And lastly, Mir whooped Big Nog (not the outcome I wanted to see). So we should be talking about Mir vs Machida... which would be a much different story

by that time lesnar will be on WWE again.

Some weird submission.
Him and Nogueira just pulling off submissions by accident when doing simple things like trying to give people a handshake or a hug
mayhem- May 15, 2009 at 7:55 am
@C-Bus Allstar - thats a perfect descripton on how that fight would turn out.
BeastUnleashed- May 15, 2009 at 7:48 am
I got Machida by some weird submission.
C-Bus Allstar- May 15, 2009 at 7:41 am
I honestly don't think Machida could hit Lesner hard enough to knock him out. I see Lesner bullrushing Machida into the cage, Machida trying a judo throw and getting stopped dead in his tracks, when the throw fails, Lesner hits Machida in the face so hard that Machida's face collapses into his skull and fragments of his nose and cheek bones drive into his brain, killing him instantly.

Epic. But futile.

I agree with Dakyn. He showed great patience in the match with Chuck and he handled Forrest.
Dakyn- May 15, 2009 at 6:53 am
This is irrelevant because i don't see Machida beating Rashad. Call me crazy but over his last 3-4 fights Rashad has really sold me on his skills. I think he's legit and has more than a good chance against Machida.
biohazardone- May 15, 2009 at 6:49 am
I think this matchup would be VERY INTERESTING. I think Machida could take Brock.....i know, i know what you are going to say. Brock is way bigger and more powerfule than Machida but drummer is right on the money. You cant hit what you cant catch. I think Brock will spend most of the time hitting air if this fight were to ever happen. I would give this one to Machida by unanious decision. Machida would beat Brock on points alone.
Pride FC- May 15, 2009 at 6:48 am
Done correctly a Brock Fedor fight would be great business. They could build on the whole USA vs Russia thing (Even if Fedor technically hails from Ukraine), however to make money and pull in fans who maybe aren't aware of any other federation outside UFC, Dana White and co would need to acknowledge on tv that Fedor is a great fighter, and get Fedor over to the casual fan.

Cuz no matter what Dana and co say about Fedor, the man is a great fighter, and he would be a great addition to the UFC.

I wanna see Lesnar lose to Mir, then have a fight-back-to-contender fight again Cain, lose that one as well (preferably all by knee bar?)

Then the UFC will create a new SUPER heavy-weight division, and Lesnar will fight Shane Carwin... eh eh?
