(Foot-sweeps vs. hammer fists: Who ya got??)
UFC 120 (November 13, 2010; New York City) will be headlined by a heavyweight title fight between Lyoto Machida and Brock Lesnar, according to a report we just pulled out of our asses. Okay, maybe it’s too early to put a date on that matchup, but light-heavyweight #1 contender Machida is already looking ahead to bigger opponents — like, way bigger. As he tells Tatame:
Ballsy, Lyoto. It’s hard to find a heavyweight who will call out Big Brock, let alone a 205′er. Since Lesnar would probably enjoy a 50-pound weight advantage on fight day (see also: Lesnar vs. Couture), this hypothetical matchup hearkens back to the "technique vs. size" matchups of the UFC’s early days — except Brock has plenty of technique himself when it comes to wrestling. If there was ever a reason to hope that Machida beats Rashad Evans next Saturday and keeps the belt for a while, this is it.
That being said, Lesnar takes this one by TKO.
