UFC Fan Expo Highlight Reel: The Legend of the Punch Machine

By now, you may have already seen that video going around of Pat Barry kicking the stuffing out of our punch-machine at the UFC Fan Expo. When KLM Vending dropped off the machine at our booth, they gave us strict orders to not let any drunken tough-guy idiot try to kick the bag. But when HD Barry drops by and starts rolling his shorts up, you’re pretty much helpless to do anything except smile nervously and move out of the way.

Of course, Pat wasn’t the only one who was drawn to the punch-machine at the CagePotato.com Fan Expo booth. As VH and ReX already explained, we had a thick crowd of participants and gawkers all weekend, many of whom turned into hooked rubes who couldn’t stop pleading for “one more turn” on the thing. And my God did they take it seriously. So here’s our video tribute to their efforts, edited by Break Media’s Matty Sumida and soundtracked by Fort Minor. Enjoy, and we hope to see you guys at the next one…

Is there video evidence of Goldstein doing it? IS THERE VIDEO EVIDENCE OF GOLDSTEIN DOING IT?!?!?!
Fried Taco- September 8, 2010 at 2:18 pm
Bah. Everyone dropped their guard when punching, they wouldn't last a second in the UFC.
DiazBrotherFromAnotherMother- September 8, 2010 at 2:12 pm
That thing was probably the best part of the expo lol, I definatley wanna see the highlights of people missing though
Loretta Cunt- September 8, 2010 at 1:48 pm

Loretta Cunt- September 8, 2010 at 1:47 pm
wtf wes sims punches harder than pat barry kicks?
boober- September 8, 2010 at 1:03 pm
I was expecting some more documented figures, we got Wes Sims and the big guy at the end, did Pat Barry's kicks get 999?
itsgalf- September 8, 2010 at 12:57 pm
too bad James Toney didn't get a shot at it
Mr_Misanthropy- September 8, 2010 at 11:59 am
That dude Kurt hits like a hungry bear tearing a tree open to get some honey. He hit all relaxed with hardly any wind-up, I'll bet he could break the bag off the machine if somebody got him riled up. He'd better hope this video doesn't get out, he'll have to license those paws as lethal weapons.
Mr_Misanthropy- September 8, 2010 at 11:54 am
I woulda popped a cap in that bitch ass machine's ass, y'know, just for smugly mocking me. Nawmsayin', playa?

@ArtVanderlay ;) Also, nice nick.
2DaDeath- September 8, 2010 at 10:43 am
That's was pretty intense for a highlight reel of an arcade machine, lol!

Next time you guys should show up with a classic Street Fighter II and record the madness that would surround that shit.

RwilsonR- September 8, 2010 at 10:10 am
I loved when the rent-a-cop wannabe Sgt. Al Powell hit the bag. His wind-up was great!

Also, you should have gotten Helwani to hit the bag. That would have been great to see!

props for putting it on vimeo, also.

steampunk22- September 8, 2010 at 9:40 am
LOL at Ben going bananas, bananas, B-A-N-A-N-.....

I'm sorry.

Good vid though. Definitely down to see the fails.

Although personally I'd like to see the booth handlers trifecta. Who had the highest amongst Viva, Rex and Goldstein?
bigpimp- September 8, 2010 at 9:12 am
hi from austria!
so the dude at the end of the vid punched harder than pat berry kicked?
he had the highest score as it seems. unbelievable

Ben, you need to post the interview of the 1 armed fighter. I'm pretty sure it has me standing in the backround looking like an idiot.

I got 863 with a left hook, everyone's lucky I didn't bust out the overhand right or I might have made everyone look bad.

Or atleast that's how I designed my fantasy world.

@Merlin
That's your "Get Off Me" moment of the video, love the brush off's from the pro's.

Great video, makes me want to watch a UFC event with Ben, just so I could be privy to his reactions to knockouts during the card, good energy.
KINGMADE- September 8, 2010 at 8:37 am
loled. BG sounded like Joe Rogan at the end.
NinJay- September 8, 2010 at 8:31 am
@1:26 BG begins to lose his shit.
SnallTrippin- September 8, 2010 at 8:19 am
Finally this is up..wish it was longer but I'll take what I can get. Kurt is a big boy.

EDIT- I actually like that Ft. Minor thing...or at least the chorus..
...I mean sure it's sorta silly, but a lot of stuff like that is..doesn't mean it's not ok sometimes.
Merlin- September 8, 2010 at 8:19 am
I like the part when Pat Berry kindly suggests to that bean pole to step back a bit.
El Famous Burrito- September 8, 2010 at 7:58 am
I'll settle for several hilarious misses and a shot of the screen in Mike Tyson's Punchout when you lose for the third time and they tell you to give up! Retire!

Make it happen, Viva.
Viva Hate- September 8, 2010 at 7:57 am
Because he said shit I missed it 3 times
itsgalf- September 8, 2010 at 7:56 am
how do you know he was trying to hit the punch machine? maybe he was just practicing his form
