‘UFC on FOX’ GIF Party: The Fights They (Practically) Didn’t Want You To See

Knock it off, you two. We said “Gif Party”, not “Punch Face Party“!  (Props: Cagewriter/Tracy Lee)

It’s not everyday that we’re treated to “the biggest fight in the history of the sport”, and even rarer that a single gif covers the pre-fight warm up, the bout, the post-fight celebration, and the after party at Ghost Bar. That calls for a GIF party. Though the sole focus of last night’s UFC on FOX event yielded precious little in terms of motion-picture awesomeness, the fighters relegated to the dark corners of social media came through in spades.

Join us after the jump for an incredible collection of throws, slams, submissions, knock outs, spinning everythings, and even some good old fashioned mid-fight showboating.

(Thanks to Zombie Prophet, as usual, for the gifs)

BTW, on an odd note, before the main event, the UFC ring crew went into the octogon and spray painted the blood stains. They covered them up with the same color blue to match the mat and then used a heat gun to blow-dry them. Kinda weird but I guess that was for FOX.

I was at the event and DVR'ed the FOX show. Pretty mediocre crowd response until the Guida vs. Bendo fight. After I got home, I watched the Fox show and was truly disappointed at the 30+ minute build up to the main. Everyone in attendance had to sit for 45+ minutes with no action before JDS even walked to the octogan losing much of the crowd heat that was built (not to mention they stopped serving alcohol before the Guida/Bendo fight was even over). As everyone has said, that half-hour would have been better served showing the Guida/Bendo clash. It would have given the MMA noobs a true taste of what a UFC fight can be. Couple that with the quick JDS stoppage and you would have had the best of both worlds. A 15 minute adrenaline fest and then a 64 second TKO. I hate to say it on such a historic night for MMA, but the UFC & FOX dropped the ball on this one.

Is that a head-butt knock-out on the bottom clip of the first page?! No punch connected!?

Best card not to be televised. Such a shame they wasted 30 minutes of air time talking up the main event instead of airing Guida-Henderson.

gotta give guida some credit, it looked in that 5th gif down like he was about to land a knee to bendo's head and then pulled back at the last second and did that crazy roll out of it.
