Though last night’s episode of UFC Primetime opened with BJ Penn expressing frustration about the way he was portrayed in episode 1, it didn’t show him actually quitting the production and storming off or anything. In fact, the supposed tension wasn’t reflected at all after the opening scene. Episode 2 took a closer look at Penn and St. Pierre’s training camps and families. We see Penn’s new daughter, and his new nephew — the fifth member of the Penn clan to be named "Jay Dee." Meanwhile up north, GSP’s grizzled black-belt father shows up to his training camp, and we get a small glimpse of the effect that the elder St. Pierre had on his son’s life. Notably, there was no Dana White whatsoever in this episode, which I guess means he has more important things to do than babysit the lightweight champ. The third and final episode of UFC Primetime: St. Pierre vs. Penn airs next Wednesday. Will BJ show up for it?

The barber shop scene was hilarious. GSP can't go 12 hours without beating off.
Thu, 01/22/09 - 07:51
I agree with Nate Marquardt.

Maybe the rumor of BJ quitting the show was started by DW to bring the ratings up and build even more buzz for this fight. Either way, BJ seemed genuinely pissed and a pissed BJ will wreck GSP. Btw, I disagree with what BJ said about size and strength not being important for martial arts and that skill, technique and a will to win are what you need to win. Fitch def has those 3 qualities that BJ mentioned, but still got overwhelmed by GSP because of size and strength

OHHH BEN your wordplay WAS amazing OH MY GOSH the way you use short confusing words and long sophisticated sentences makes me mellttt ;-) Not to sound gay but do you wanna go catch a movie sometime? I mean, if we do end up doing it, that's cool, too.
Thu, 01/22/09 - 08:00
Billy, you're ghay as hell son
Thu, 01/22/09 - 08:17
Anyway, back to talking about MMA... I think BJ taken time off was blow out of proportion. Ever fighter has there own way to prepare for a fight. Ever fighter is different and every style is different. I don't agree with taking 5 days off may be 2 or 3 at the most but hey he's the professional. I still want to see him get his ass beat by GSP though.
Thu, 01/22/09 - 08:26
Good vid. I think GSP is correct when he says that there is not a bad position that BJ can put him in. In the past year, GSP really showed that he's comfortable anywhere: BJJ, wrestling and stand & bang. BJ obviously prefers to fight on the ground, but he does have some wicked fists. This is gonna be a great fight.
Thu, 01/22/09 - 08:27
But hope it is a good fight, not just a one hitter quitter because we are all spending our hard earned money on all these PPVs. They need to talk up the under card fights more.
Thu, 01/22/09 - 08:31
Ooooooooooooohhhhhh GSP, did you hear that? BJ called you a little bitch! What do you have to say about that? "I am not impressed by your interview"
Thu, 01/22/09 - 08:44
damn, didn't know cerrone trained with GSP... can't wait for his WEC fight.
Thu, 01/22/09 - 08:46
Does anyone else get the feeling they are just hyping up a fight any real MMA mind knows is just gonna be a cake walk? Does noone else see this ending very quickly very decisively. With GAP just throttling Penn? I just don't really see this going past the first round
Thu, 01/22/09 - 08:49
GAP lol meant GSP

"Does anyone else get the feeling they are just hyping up a fight any real MMA mind knows is just gonna be a cake walk? Does noone else see this ending very quickly very decisively. With GAP just throttling Penn? I just don't really see this going past the first round" ************************ With comments like this, you should stay anonymous. I don't even know where to begin with your dumbass. "any real MMA mind" ... HAHAHAHAH when is the last time you had a fight? Wrestling with your uncle under the bed-sheets doesn't count.

"Btw, I disagree with what BJ said about size and strength not being important for martial arts and that skill, technique and a will to win are what you need to win. Fitch def has those 3 qualities that BJ mentioned, but still got overwhelmed by GSP because of size and strength" 1st of all fitch didn't get overwhelmed by gsp only because of size and strength, or are you implying that gsp isn't skilled and lacks technique? I Guess you also missed bj's 2 fights with hughes? Granted he lost the 2nd one but that wasn't due to being outmuscled, the 1st and 2nd rounds ouf that fight proves your statement wrong imo. Not to mention the success of kenny florian, lauzon, both diaz bro's, and a number of other fighters. I would put money that nate diaz would lose in a weight lifting competition to every fighter he's beaten sense the reality show. Strength offers an advantage, that is true, but technique, conditioning, and several other attributes rank much higher on the list than physical strength. I will most deffinitley agree though, if all other things are equal or close to it strength can be a deciding factor.
Thu, 01/22/09 - 09:09
if penns in shape he'll win, they probabally changed the show after bj complained this episode seemed extra favorable to penn.

With GAP just throttling Penn? I just don't really see this going past the first round" I consider myself a faily knowledgable and experienced fan and I honestly think it's more likely that bj walks through gsp than gsp walking through bj. My prediction is that if GSP wins it will be by smothering bj with wrestling and doing little damage, taking it by decision. Unless bj gasses, then he may get finished.
Thu, 01/22/09 - 09:10
b.j.'s fingernails eh?
Thu, 01/22/09 - 09:14
Penns got better jj and striking, GSP might out wrestle him tho.
Thu, 01/22/09 - 09:20
Maaannnnn penn is talking to much shit! That foo doesn't respect for shit. I hope GSP kicks his ass man! And then helps penn back on his feet after he gets his ass kicked sooo bad he can't stand up.. and you know what's bad ass about gsp? He's training with the BEST!
Thu, 01/22/09 - 09:20
GSP by tko in the third.
Thu, 01/22/09 - 09:23
I just can't wait to see them fight.....mostly because I can not stand hearing either of them speak. How can two bad ass fighters sound so annoying. One sounds like a fem and the other a thug. I'm not trying to hate, and i know for both it's a regional dialect, but PLEASE just shut up and hit one another very hard...in the mouth. BJ by sub 3rd round!
Thu, 01/22/09 - 09:25
Why don't we look at this realistically. BJ has fought in his last 5 fights a loss to GSP a loss to Hughes and wins over Sherk, Joe stevenson and Pulver... The people he has beaten aren't THAT good and not THAT big either, Pulver has gotten shitkicked his last like 1000 fights, stevenson just lost to Florian and Sherk is the new WBO boxing champ of the world. GSP on the other hand has lost to Serra (arguably by a fluke) and beaten Penn, Hughes x2, Serra, Fitch. The quality of wins are far better for GSP, to me its a no brainer that gsp will win, hes bigger, stronger and has grown much more then penn since their last fight.
Thu, 01/22/09 - 09:27
@ armfarmer I wasn't implying anything about GSP's skills and technique. You'd have to be a fool to not recognize it. All I was saying was that I disagree with BJ's point where he said that size and strength have nothing to do with martial arts. Fitch just gave an interview on another site where he said that GSP exposed holes in his game. He also said that he's bringing in strength and conditioning coaches to become a more complete fighter. Size and strength are part of the equation
Thu, 01/22/09 - 09:42
The more I watch these two guys train and the more I think about it, I'm starting to think that not only will GSP win, but that he'll stop BJ by TKO in the 3rd or 4th. I think that GSP is training with such high quality fighters (Marquardt and Jardine, for example) will make a huge difference in this fight.
Thu, 01/22/09 - 09:48
anyone know where i can watch this online?
Thu, 01/22/09 - 10:03
No matter who you're a fan of you must admit that GSP has shown himself to be much more classy throughout this whole thing that BJ could even pretend to be. No matter what BJ does in this fight, win or lose, I still won't have any respect for him as a person. And I hope most others won't either. As an athlete he is phenomenal and gifted but does that give him the right to be an a**? I personally don't think so.
Thu, 01/22/09 - 10:21
Training with the best is great, but BEING the best gives you a slightly bigger advantage ; ) I think bj will take this. As for the argument about who's beaten who recently.. Just looking and w's and l's on paper doesn't really tell the whole story. Bj has beaten hughes in less than a round, he's sent gsp to the hospital, the 2nd time around he dominated hughes for 2 rounds in every aspect.. even wrestling.. then eventually lost due to injury/gassing. Joe stevenson may not be the best in the world but he's a solid fighter and bj litteraly left him looking like a murder victim crying in his own pool of blood. Pulver's not what he once was, but bj manhandled him with little effort. Sherk is what like 25-3? With his only career losses coming from hughes, gsp (2 of the best welterweight champs ever), and penn. Sherk imo is a world class fighter and bj put him away easily. GSP got ktfo by matt serra, a mediocre lightweight, so I fail to see how you can completely count out bj. Granted it was a flukey win, but if serra can do it penn sure as hell can. Aside from that he has wins over serra (who doesn't even belong in the ring with him to begin with, plus bj has a win over), 2-1 against hughes whos past his prime and is one dimensional to begin with, dominated fitch (I'll be the first to admit, very impressive) but couldn't finish him. If you look at it deeper than just w's and l's, I don't think it's nearly as cut and dry. I don't see this being a cake walk for gsp. I'm calling bj ftw.
Thu, 01/22/09 - 10:26
lets be realistic..Penn is a great fighter, probably the greatest natural fighter in all of MMA with exception of Fedor. Hes def the top LW in the world and thats a given. But thats the LW divisions. He is stepping up into GSP's division. GSP will dominate which ever way this fight goes, Either to the ground or standing up, GSP has trained with top BJJ experts in the world. There is absolutely no way BJ stands a chance in there at 170 against a guy that has dominated the likes of Fitch, Hughes, Kos, Serra, and yes even penn.. Anyone who thinks that penn won their first fight is an insult to my intelligance( wait did i spell that right?) yeah gsp was clipped on the nose and it triggered a nose bleed.. Other than that gsp superior wrestling was able to take down penn at will and win a decision victory. Plus gsp wrestling, kickboxing, takedown defense, BJJ, strenght and size will be way to overwhelming for penn to stand a shot..GSP wins 9 out 10 fights. GSP Rear naked choke. Rd. 3 ( after he wears penn down and takes his back)
Thu, 01/22/09 - 10:28
Very well put 'ButItHurts'... Unfortunately what sells in the MMA world is not always what is best for the sport. When the exact opposite should be true. GSP by every sense of the word is a classy, respectable martial artist. He shows the true nature of what it means to be a public sports figure. Hard work, discipline, respect, maturity... this is the kind of person I want to see fight. Not some jack-ass saying hes 'going to kill'... and calling his opponent a 'bitch' and a 'quitter' for tapping. True fans will always apprechiate those who show respect for their oponents, no matter what. History will show who the better man is, win or lose.
Thu, 01/22/09 - 10:29
F'n Clownshoes: so you want em to stop talking and get straight to the fuckin, huh? you fuckin gay perv... armfarmer: cmon bro. no one read that shit.
Thu, 01/22/09 - 10:53
Step 1: Goldberg: "and HEEEERE WEEEE GOOOOO!" Step 2: GSP bull rushes and takes BJ down. Step 3: GSP pounds the shit out of BJ. Step 4: Goldberg: "IT'S ALLLLL OVER!" Step 5: GSP does a back flip.
Thu, 01/22/09 - 11:00
Gsp will keep penn at a distance at first, keeping him at bay with lick kicks, superman punch, figure out his timing, then jab and shoot for the take down..he then will continue to wear his ass out with little annoying punches and elbows from the guard, then take his back.. It will be yet another dominating win for the canadian once again. Sence the serra loss, tell me at any one point that gsp has been in a bad position. He is just one notch above everyone else in the division. Even natural lightweights that try to move up to 170lbs. Come on guys, this cant be hard to debate.. All of you penn lovers are supporting your dude and rooting him on to win... but theres a little voice in your head saying "fuck! Penn is gunna be eating his oats and banana protein shake through his ass!"
Thu, 01/22/09 - 11:03
"armfarmer: cmon bro. no one read that shit." Obviously someone did. Sorry I should have realized that reading 3 paragraphs is too strenuous for many readers hear. Didn't mean to hurt your brain. I don't know what I was thinking making valid points to back up my opinion. BJ IS GOING TO WHEN GSP SUX!! There is that more appropriate?
Thu, 01/22/09 - 11:39
"You tap out to strikes...you're a bitch"
Thu, 01/22/09 - 11:39
BJ by RNC in round 4.
Thu, 01/22/09 - 11:48
armfarmer: it's cagepotato, man. we're not gonna proofread your novel.
Thu, 01/22/09 - 11:48
haha "fedor a million ankles", nice name. This will be a great fight, I hope GSP throws Penn back to the LW division with another L on his record. Why does seem like most of the talent that comes from Canada has a French accent? We're not all french. Does anyone know where I can watch the entire episode?
Thu, 01/22/09 - 12:09
Whats up with GSPs trainer? "We have 2 relationships first I'm his training second were really good friends were very close"
Thu, 01/22/09 - 12:11
to creamy ca roll fitch didnt get overwhelmed by size and strength, maybe strength but in reality fitch is bigger than st.pierre so he actually had the size advantage
Thu, 01/22/09 - 12:17
um that would mean first its business training gsp, then outside of tri star, they are very close friends..
Thu, 01/22/09 - 12:25
People thought that GSP was going to avoid Serra's ground game (GSP/Serra 2) but GSP took it to him, destroying him in his element. And while Serra is not a perceived top challenge, his JJ was said to be better. I think GSP is going to take it to BJ to make a statement for BJ's comments and to rule out a debatable decision. Saying that BJ is a better striker than GSP is amusing. I look forward to that thought being busted and seeing a post-W back flip. Comparing opponents doesn't tell an accurate tale because what one does for a certain fighter, another would approach in their own way. Fights are made by styles and strengths. Unless BJ and GSP are carbon copies, it's all spec.
Thu, 01/22/09 - 12:25
i believe gsp has improved more since their last fight and he knows what it feels like to lose his belt when he is the favorite and i just dont see him losing it for a long time. i beleive that he will manhandle bj and he will punish him early and often and finish him in the closing moments of round 1 but thats just my opinion
Thu, 01/22/09 - 12:29
everytime they show penn they usually show him running hahahaha that doesnt make him look like a badass??? NOW GSP.....FUCKING BAD ASS RIGHT THERE MANG!
Thu, 01/22/09 - 12:38
Am I supposed to be honored when TUF Guy uses my handle to make it look like I wrote it so he can try to pick a fight with me? I'm not? Oh, ok.
Thu, 01/22/09 - 12:59
hey man..Liddell was KTFO, Yoshida was KTFO, Wanderlei was KTFO.... Serra did beat GSP but it was a (t)KO..big difference between a tko and sleeping straightlegged like the above list.... Can't wait for this fight.... :)
Thu, 01/22/09 - 02:31
"armfarmer: it's cagepotato, man. we're not gonna proofread your novel." Ok.. sorry I expected someone that comes to a website to read articles and discussions to read something. My bad. For the record, I'm not a bj penn fan. I never thought he was that good and I never liked him. I bet 2,000 dollars on matt hughes to beat him the 2nd time around because I thought it was impossible to win. I thought the 1st time was a fluke and he was going to get crushed. I won the bet but that fight and every fight he's had sense has gradually changed my mind. BJ is really good and to say he has 0 chance to beat a guy matt serra beat down is crazy.
Thu, 01/22/09 - 02:45
When GSP was training to fight Koscheck, he was in Albequerque with Greg Jackson's camp. Rashad Evans (lhw) had a lot of difficutly taking down St. Pierre, so I don't see BJ having an easier time. His sprawl defense is amongst the best in mma, and he's comfortable fighting from the ground. His ground and pound (a la Sherk) is dominating at times. As for the jiu jitsu aspect, they're both black belts, but GSP's verbal submission win over Hughes was pretty sweet (referring to the change up from one submission to another). It's the fight game, everyone loses at some point or another. You can learn from your mistakes (as GSP did with Hughes and Serra), or you can whine like a little b*tch like BJ does (Hughes, GSP, Pulver). Koscheck, Fitch, Hughes, Trigg were all solid wrestlers. Serra's a black belt in jiu jitsu and GSP took him to the ground at will, no fear. I've got a feeling BJ's not going to escape this fight unscathed, but at least he'll have his proof that he lost, lol.
Thu, 01/22/09 - 06:06
I don't think that matters that much I think bj is going to want to stand and bang and outstrike him. Maybe if he gets rocked or dropped then he may take it to the ground. I don't really see bj coming in with a wrestler game plan though and repeatedly trying to take him down. I think gsp will be the one looking for takedowns.
Thu, 01/22/09 - 06:14
I meant if gsp gets rocked or dropped then bj may take it to the ground, worded that poorly.
Thu, 01/22/09 - 09:56
Like someone mentioned before- it's one thing training with the best, and a completely different thing being the best. Then again, I'm really on the fence with this fight. It's going to be an absolute war!
Fri, 01/23/09 - 02:14
Anyone else hating BJ more and more as every second passes or is it just me?
Sun, 01/25/09 - 01:19
its pretty easy to say if bj is in shape he will win............dumbass in your mind he cant lose and if he loses it will of course be a result of the shape he is in because he just has not had the time!!!or maybe had a bad burger, better start thinkin cause you will need to explain why canadians are not making excuses for our fighters just backing them 110 percent and winning. oh ya good luck lol
