In case you missed it, here’s last night’s installment of Spike’s UFC Primetime hype-series, which opens in a Long Island Hooters, where Dan Hardy can somehow smell Georges St. Pierre‘s fear over the pungent aroma of hot wings and urinal cakes. Hardy has come out to New York early to get acclimated with the time zone and funny accents of the American East Coast. Acting as his spirit guide is former UFC welterweight champ Matt Serra, who is helping Hardy work on the positions that he’ll surely be placed in against GSP, and lending him some of his lovable underdog magic. Back in Montreal, we learn a little more about Tristar Gym trainer Firas Zahabi, his obsessive work ethic, and his cute wife. Nate Marquardt and Kenny Florian stop by to add some star power to St. Pierre’s camp. (Ferrum Ferro Acuitur, bro.) Our buddies Ariel Helwani and Randy Gordon interview Hardy about training with monks; turns out Hardy really is a martial artist, even if he doesn’t walk out to the Octagon in his pajamas. Part 2 is after the jump. Give it a look before it’s pulled…

commentsI am not sure what t-durden or TURDen or whatever his name is going on about, I guess you just have nothing to add to the topic so your looking for gay sayings.
I guess you and your buddy steampunk22 can search for gay things if that turns you fags on, but I am going to keep trying to find something meaningful to write about the fighters. I am sure gay stuff is more insightful to you 2 than fighters, whatever guys you can be immature gay morons if you want.
1. Lucky wild swings to the temple that connect can help you win... if you connect.
2. Trying to stop GSP's takedowns is difficult at best, and will lead to broken ribs and one hell of a long time off healing.
Matt Serra boasts about his big win, how he shocked the mma world. Oddly enough, he makes few comments or references to the rematch and how his training and gameplan worked out for him the second go around with GSP.
Yes, Hardy has a punchers chance... and that's about as far as it goes. Watching Primetime last night showed serious differences in training, and after seeing that, I think Hardy's being cocky because it's the only way he knows how to combat his own fears.
Understandably, all the pressure is on GSP to win and Hardy really has nothing to lose (other than recovery time). If Hardy feels GSP is overrated and underestimates his abilities, he's beyond cocky, he's just flat out stupid.
GSP was a striker before he was a grappler or submission artist, now he's just well versed in all aspects of mma. It's not that I hate or even dislike Hardy (I'm indifferent to him), but I'm a realist.
GSP better watch out. Dan Hardy can throw the leather. He only has to catch George with one of those bombs.
GSP will take Hardy down and mangle him. I like Hardy. He entertains me. But he's gonna catch a beating here.
Then George will be on his way to MW.
Couldn't finish Gono? I remember Hornbuckle KO'd the shit out of him with a headkick just a little bit ago.
Couldn't finish Davis? Ben Saunders just finished him with Knees.
Couldn't finish Swick? Paulo Thiago dropped him and submitted him with ease.
Does that mean their better than Dan Hardy? Maybe, I don't know. But it does mean one thing to ME. Dan Hardy isn't a knockout artist, he doesn't have the style to knock people out in the UFC. He is more of a grinder, who gets in good shots, disrupts peoples styles and gets the decision. That will not happen within 5 long rounds with GSP. That's about it.
He is not.
Hardy seems like a cool enough dude so I hope he does well. And because hope is really all Dan Hardy's got in this fight anywas.
Matt Serra teaching him Ju-Jitsu? talking about how if GSP stands with him he'll lose? That's just dumb. Hardy doesn't have the time to learn the stuff Matt Serra is trying to say, you can't learn Muscle Memory in a week. Oh and in my opinion if Alves fought Hardy, Hardy would get KTFO. He would start going for the takedown. Alves was a much superior/quicker striker than Hardy and look what GSP did to him. Before the Alves fight I was ready to see an upset, Alves was destroying people, not winning decisions like Hardy. And GSP comes in and just picks him apart standing, throws him down whenever he wants. That was him best fight in my opinion. That and Jon Fitch.
Oh and training with Florian/Marquart/Cote >>>>> Training with Matt Serra.
Cote alone brings all the standup/luck punchers training gsp needs. Add that in with Florians Muay Thai and Marquarts strength and size and GSP is ready.
I think the UFC should make Serra fight Hardy after this loss. Thatd be awesome.
No...no we are not. Swing and a miss UFC producers. Worst attempt at trying to create a story line.
Thats awesome! lol I was thinking the same thing. lol
"...scared, and hurting and suffering to be the best..." There's a lot of passion in that paragraph. What kind of a fucking description is that? That is by far the gayest phrase associated with this fight, that I've heard so far.
I suggest you skip the next episode. It sounds like watching teenage Hardy, prancing around the forest in Beijing stirred up some odd, repressed feelings inside you.
If Daley can prove against Koscheck that he can stop a good wrestlers takedowns then I'll back you on that one. As far as Thiago, he needs a few more fights
Paulo Thiago and Paul Daley come to mind...
you're a homo
Then you watch shows like this, and I see him as a young kid practicing his ass off, and working hard and just being scared and hurting, and suffering to be the best he can be, and I appreciate his effort.
BUT he is still to cocky.
Yes I know you have to be cocky to survive in a sport that everyone trains just as hard, has had just as much pain, and fear in their lives, but to be cocky, it makes no sense. To think after all you have learned, and all you know, and how really level the playing field is, that YOU above all others are the best in the world that takes major balls, and a bit of stupidity that comes with being a young dumbass.
And I think the future holds great things for hardy, but his time isn't now. I hope he doesn't give up after he loses to GSP, I hope he grows up.
Put away the mouth, and the mohawk, and just be himself.
3 years max and he will be as well spoken about as GSP is now, that is my prediction.
