MMA Video Tribute: 9 ‘Falling Tree’ Knockouts

UFC Quick Hits: Bisping, Mir, Rampage/Wandy, & More

- Michael Bisping has some kind words for Chris Leben in the above ESPN interview, calling the UFC 89 bout his toughest challenge to date.

- Frank Mir astutely summed up what it was like to fight Brock Lesnar, telling Sherdog the experience was “like getting hit by a car that’s moving very slowly and you can’t get out of the way. It bumps and knocks you over and is just overwhelmingly powerful. …I didn’t know where he was half the time. It really felt like I was underwater and somebody was beating the s—-t out of me. I was just drowning under him.” Check out MMA’s undisputed champ of metaphors.

- Sounds like we can forget about seeing Wanderlei Silva-Rampage Jackson tacked on to the UFC 91 card. Yahoo!’s Kevin Iole says it’s more likely that fight will appear on a Super Bowl weekend card, but almost certainly won’t happen in 2008. At least it will give Rampage more time to sort out his legal problems and get comfortable with his new team.

- TUF 6′s Ben Saunders will take on Brandon Wolff at the UFC’s Dec. 10 event for the troops at Fort Bragg in North Carolina. This is the fight that War Machine turned down, right around the same time he made idiotic comments about Evan Tanner. Saunders kept his mouth shut and agreed to fight whoever the UFC asked him to. Guess who still has a job.

I'm willing to wait on the Rampage vs. Silva fight. As long as we get the best both can offer, it should be an entertaining match.

Good for Mir to admit how much trouble he was in during that fight. I am so sick of hearing fighters who pull out a victory after getting pounded on saying "he hit me with a few shots, but I wasn't really hurt"

So let me get this straight, we get to see the Steelers play and Rampage/Silva in the same weekend? Fan-friggin-tastic. Steeler Nation, can I hear you? Here we go Steelers, here we go. Here we .. go.. Steel... uhh. . hello.... Steelers.... anybody? Go Silva!

And yeah, Mir is right... Lesnar is a quasi-real-mma-douche, but christ, he's all big n' shit. It would be like the time I was eight and wrestled my 6'4" aunt Helen. Except Lesnar probably smells less like canned salmon.

does anyone really wanna see wand fight rampage for a third time? give wandy his belt allready he'd kill forest.
  12. NINJA STICK Says:

    Wed, 09/24/08 - 10:20

Who really want to see Rampage getted flattened again, he's just lost his Title to Forest the pressure fighter who hasnt got one strike knock out power but will wear you down and pick you off.. stick the Spider in with the Axe Murderer and lets sit back and watch the fireworks... and for a better match up put Evans in with Rampage and give the winner aTitle shot.... And no Evan's has not done enough yet to warrent a Title fight, beating Chuck who had lost two of his last 3 fights and getting a draw with Tito dont cut the mustard with me!
  13. NINJA STICK Says:

    Wed, 09/24/08 - 11:37

SORRY ABOUT THE SPELLING.... ALL THE TRAINING I'VE HAD WITH "ROCKY" BLOCKING PUNCHES WITH MY HEAD HAS FINALLY TAKEN IT'S TOLL!!!!
  14. Zackary Adams Says:

    Wed, 09/24/08 - 12:06

I'm glad to hear Saunders take this fight. He's 10 times the fighter that War "Jon Koppenhaver" Machine is.
  15. Old, Bald and Irish Says:

bisping thinks that Leben will be his toughest challenge to date? No sh!t, sherlock.
  16. Vrax Says:

    Wed, 09/24/08 - 01:48

I think calling Leben his toughest challenge is an artful way to dis Rashad Evans, who was quite obviously the Count's toughest challenge, since he did beat Bisping and all. Leben, on the other hand? Well, he got choked unconscious by MW gate keeper Jason MacDonald, and then - oh then - he lost a decision to The Running Man himself, Kalib Starnes. Think about that one for a second. For all Leben's popularity he really has beaten no one, with his greatest UFC win being a decision over Patrick Cote. That said, I STill think Leben will beat Bisping, of whom I do not think highly at all.
  17. Chris Leben Says:

    Wed, 09/24/08 - 02:20

    Leben Smash!!!
  18. hooligun Says:

    Wed, 09/24/08 - 05:29

I like em both but I can't see bisping walking into lebens left and so bisping will beat him up. I like hendo a lot and think he showed a lot in his fight with Silva but being English myself I will be rooting for the count all the way. Hopefully by then he will have learned enough to beat Silva for the belt. Hey it could happen!
  19. bisping Says:

    Wed, 09/24/08 - 08:01

am counting down the days till i kick the shit out of leben and i will do u can COUNT on it
  20. BIG CHRIS Says:

    Leben by TKO Round 2....
