Which MMA Fighter Will Test Positive For Steroids Next?

UFC Quick Notes: Rampage, Sadollah, Lesnar + More

— The arraignment of Quinton Jackson (which was supposed to take place today) has been postponed pending further investigation. According to an Orange County District Attorney’s Office spokesperson, “The district attorney’s office is responsible for filing charges and that case is still under investigation based on some new evidence that has been discovered…The recommendations of the police are taken into consideration, but it could be more charges or less charges, depending on what the evidence reports.”

The Ultimate Fighter 7 winner Amir Sadollah will be back in the Octagon within the next couple months, against a yet-unnamed opponent. He’s moved from Virginia to Las Vegas to train with his old coach Forrest Griffin, and there’s no truth to the rumors of him dropping to welterweight.

— If his knee heals according to schedule, Matt Hughes should be settling his grudge with Matt Serra in January or February.

— The UFC is having a lot of trouble finding an opponent for Cain Velasquez. As Bloody Elbow’s Mchael Rome puts it, “[Velasquez] is very good, but he has no name value yet, so fighters don’t see any upside in facing him.”

Brock Lesnar is subjected to some pretty dumb questions by the New York Times‘s Freakonomics blog; our own Ben Fowlkes gets a shout-out.

Whaddaya mean Cain Velasquez isn't a big name? Just look at the photo, he's got Horshack from Welcome Back Kotter in his corner!!

No upside to facing Velasquez? I guess. Scared much? Don't use not a big name as an excuse to duck fights. If names mattered then nobody would fight, ever, because everybody has to start somewhere. We're creeping into boxing territory here.[Ducking up and comers, not defending titles, etc.]

Aright it just happened, like 5 minutes ago, I changed my mind about
Brock Lesnar. You can call those questions dumb, but the guy's answers
showed a lot about him. What impressed me the most is that he seems
to respect the sport, the other fighters, and has a realistic attitude about
where he fits into the UFC. So maybe Heath Herring did deserve the
taunting for fucking with him before the fight. Either way I don't think
I can hate on Brock anymore.

I had a dream that Werdum ko'd arlovsky. but the refs gave arlovsky a pro wrestling style three count but hitting their hands on the mat and he still couldn't get up. the worst part was that the feed went out just as the ko happened and no one in the arena saw it on the big screen and they all started booing and no one at home saw it either. Werdum left the cage, disgusted. arlovsky was still out of it.
then I woke up because I thought my doorbell rang, it was like 3 am.

How about Cain Velasquez against Brock Lesnar? I think Velasquez could take that stupid Ivan Drago look a like bastard...

"Q: Are there any gay U.F.C. fighters?

A: I don’t know."

It's nice to see that Jay Larkin snuck a question in there for Brock.
