UFC Rumorwatch: Lesnar’s Condition Not Improving, Next Opponents for Penn and Daley

From a recent post on Brock Lesnar‘s official Facebook page:

NEW UPDATE!! Brock has had more problems (we can’t say what they are) and he could be out all of this year if things don’t get better. Brock wants to thank all of his fans for their support and for the nice messages so thanks guys.

Though we’ve yet to see the official update that we were promised this week, let this be your advance warning that Lesnar won’t be returning this summer. In other unconfirmed news…

SI’s Josh Gross hears that Frankie Edgar will get the next shot at BJ Penn‘s lightweight belt in April, regardless of Gray Maynard‘s performance against Nate Diaz at UFC Fight Night 20 on Monday. Edgar (11-1, 6-1 UFC), most recently submitted Matt Veach at the TUF 10 finale, holds wins over Sean Sherk, Hermes Franca, and Tyson Griffin, and previously lost a decision to Maynard in April 2008.

— According to MMA Live host Jon Anik, a match between knockout artist Paul Daley and perennial top contender Josh Koscheck is being discussed for May or June. Between Daley’s recent destructions of Martin Kampmann and Dustin Hazelett, and Koscheck’s wins over Frank Trigg and Anthony Johnson, both guys have a lot of heat behind them right now. Feels like a #1 welterweight contender fight to us…

I like Frankie Edgar but I think its pretty messed up that Gray who beat Edgar 30-27 on all the judges scorecards is fighting Nate Diaz on a Fight Night card and Frankie Edgar is the next guy to fight BJ, which is freaking ridiculous anyways since Edgar is a small guy at 155, he's gonna get his ass kicked way worse than Diego.

The only thing you are first at is getting ass raped by a donkey so therefore you fail.

You can't say what Brock's problem is, so narturally it is assumed that - given that we know he had intestinal issues - he's crapping himself uncontrollably. You reap what you sow, Brockie. You wanna be a jerk as though you don't need goodwill, and the result is that when you're down people will stomp on you rather than help you up, loser. Try Depends. Hey, maybe they will sponsor you since Bud wouldn't.
  5. Red Baron Says:

    Thu, 01/07/10 - 08:16

Oh, and, Dear Brockworth, maybe your words to Mir after your last fight are approriate..."Ya wanna talk shit now?"

    Thu, 01/07/10 - 08:28

Daley v. Koscheck would be very nice, maybe they could fight with goggles on to ensure the eye poking doesn't take center stage in the fight. The lightweight division is like death row, Maynard getting snubbed is really just a stay of execution. I think it was more about scheduling than overlooking anybody, Edgar will get it first and then maybe Maynard next. I have a feeling that Diaz may beat Maynard on Monday. I would like to see Diaz vs. BJ too, I think it would be a good match. Without Brock in the picture, I find the heavyweight division is getting more interesting in a way.
  7. Lonny Says:

    Thu, 01/07/10 - 08:30

I'm going to guess that Brock had a serious case of diverticulitis, which can lead you to have your colon "re-sectioned" , which means that you are crapping in a bag until it heals. Pardon the pun but this is some serious sh!t.
  8. SmokinJoe86 Says:

    Thu, 01/07/10 - 08:41

Why do we have to guess? Why all the secrecy and shadiness? It's really starting to get on my nerves...

i remember hearing an interview with nate diaz awhile ago where i think he might of said he wasn't into fighting B.J. anyone know what im talkin about?
  10. iDestroy Says:

    Thu, 01/07/10 - 08:54

Sweet. My boy kos is gonna run through Daley, then he'll either beat hardy down or upset GSP on his way to the WW strap. I'm so sick of lesnar. I was tired of hearing about him before all this intestinal crap. Unless he dies or gets better I don't really care.
  11. Dubya Says:

    Thu, 01/07/10 - 08:58

@Get Off Me Dude.. can you get me some of that stuff you've been smoking? Good shit I presume based off your recent comments. Diaz vs.BJ?! Are you fucking serious man? Diaz got owned by Joe Daddy.. who in return got destroyed in one of the bloodiest debacles i have ever witnessed in the cage against BJ. Diaz vs. BJ would just be criminal. Also, it is going to take a miracle submission for Diaz to pull off a win against Maynard. Diaz got out wrestled by both Stevenson and Guida.. and in case you didn't know this.. Maynard is a standout wrestler and has won a majority of his fights with his wrestling alone. Stop being a Diaz nuthugger and get back to reality brother.
  12. Get Off Me Says:

    Thu, 01/07/10 - 09:14

@Dudya What can I say the 514 has got that good stuff. Diaz did get out wrestled by Stevenson and Guida, both were fight of the night if memory serves me correct(and it may not...) but which is a main reason I like Diaz. Name me another guy who finishes fights via Arabian death choke. Diaz is definitely not favoured to beat Maynard, I will not proclaim he will, I just got a feeling he may pull it off and as for BJ, nobody stands a chance right now at 155, it would be about match making more than anything and I think Diaz v. BJ would be a good fight, even if BJ hands Diaz a first class spank like all others before him at 155. What can I say, I like Nate Diaz, I like both brothers a ton and they put on great fights, if I'm huggin' their nuts that's just the way it goes I suppose. Don't get it twisted though, I'm not on a soap box saying Diaz will win the lightweight championship. We can re-visit this Diaz character on Tuesday when his fight with Maynard is history.
  13. jimbonics Says:

    Thu, 01/07/10 - 09:16

I guess I'll be the first to say it... I hope Brock never fights again.
  14. Lavacon Says:

    Thu, 01/07/10 - 09:18

Yeah, you are right.... Diaz lost 2 decisions to a couple of wrestlers who pretty much laid on him for 3 rounds. Neither one of them really hurt Diaz and at least he was going for a submission. I would love to see BJ against a l lanky BJJ artist who's not afraid to try using it. Don't even mention Florian, he didn't use a lick of BJJ in his loss. When these guys stop trying to brawl with Penn they will be better off.
  15. imakeutap Says:

    Thu, 01/07/10 - 09:26

@Dubya Diaz already beat Maynard so what makes it not believable. He was a standout wrestler back then as well. Just an off night, huh?
  16. Get Off Me Says:

    Thu, 01/07/10 - 09:28

@lavacon U rarely get owned in a fight on the night and yes I found the Guida v. Diaz fight to be a prime example of how hugging vs. active submission off the back wins everytime(I don't hate guida everyone), that's how the Sanchez v. Guida fight was closer than it should have been(exclude the head kick from Sanchez and it was almost a carbon copy of the Diaz v. Guida fight) but i digress. BJ would probably own Diaz on the ground(the prodigy) but I just think it would be a good little scrap anyway and isn't that what it's all about for us fans?
  17. agentsmith Says:

    Thu, 01/07/10 - 09:43

Since when does Brock have a Facebook page? I thought he always said he doesn't even own a computer. I smell a fake.

  20. Dubya Says:

    Thu, 01/07/10 - 10:09

@Get Off Me It's Dubya... not Dudya.. but i'm not sure if that was an intentional jab at me :) We will def revisit this on Tuesday my friend. But don't get me wrong.. I really like Diaz as a fighter. He is always entertaining and always brings it. I respect that. I just don't see him being a threat at 155 until he works on his wrestling. How many pure BJJ guys are holding belts right now? Same goes for Mir. I agree with you on the fact that both Diaz Bros are fun to watch for sure.
  21. That Guy Says:

    Thu, 01/07/10 - 10:14

Seconded. I hope we never see him fight again. Actually... I hope I never see him again, period
  22. Dubya Says:

    Thu, 01/07/10 - 10:21

@imakeutap Good point.. i forgot about his fights on The Ultimate Fighter! Seriously though.. who gets caught in a guillotine choke twice?? It can happen once to anybody.. but twice? If he does.. he deserves to sit on the sidelines while Franky Edgar fights for the title :) Maynard's standup was sharp against Huerta.. I don't see this going to the mat too much. We'll see though. None of these guys stand a chance against BJ anyway. Besides the Huerta fight.. all of Maynard's have been kinda boring to watch. Let's hope his fight against Diaz will be fun to watch at least.
  23. ChuckLiddellsMohawk Says:

    Thu, 01/07/10 - 10:22

As much as i like Frankie, he will get owned by BJ and in no way deserves a title shot yet, i would rather see Maynard vs BJ. Also think Daley will get overpowered by Kos, Daley vs Alves first please!
  24. Get Off Me Says:

    Thu, 01/07/10 - 10:26

@Dubya It was a jab for the nutthugger thing :) There are no real threats at lightweight, only match-ups that may be interesting. I also did know that Maynard was a great wrestler and that he lost to Diaz before, but I was saving that for later. Maynard has improved by leaps and bounds, he deserves respect after the Heurta fight and like I said he is favoured, it should be a good fight(FOTN, SOTN or KOTN most likely) and this would be the sixth, if i'm not wrong, FOTN or SOTN for Diaz in a row. Nice that we get a freebie too, enjoy the fights.
  25. SweetAfflictionShirt Says:

    Thu, 01/07/10 - 11:08

Bullshit. Give Maynard his due. This is supposed to be a sport.
  26. Lavacon Says:

    Thu, 01/07/10 - 11:23

I would love to see Nick Diaz vs. Penn @ 170 :-) Could be interesting..... or very one sided..... BJ could bring some of that Hawaii dank for them to enjoy after the battle :-)
  27. mckellion Says:

    Thu, 01/07/10 - 11:57

shame about brock tbh i would have liked to see him return. Dos santos is 1 to lookout for! i can see either him or Cain or Mir fighting for the belt in the future
  28. mckellion Says:

    Thu, 01/07/10 - 11:59

Also maynard should be up against BJ its shockin An semtex vs koshcheck will be amazin
  29. Peter Griffin Says:

    Thu, 01/07/10 - 12:00

I cant help but feel that Brock not getting better is kinda manifest destiny. Brock made the choice to be a dick and thus a lot of people don't like him and didn't want him to succeed.---DESTINY FULFILLED !RAWR!
  30. Robocop Didnt Tap Says:

    Thu, 01/07/10 - 01:13

There's only two logical ways to solve the problem that is BJ Penn in the UFC's 155# division. Solution A: Let his opponents enter the ring with one weapon of their choosing. Ballbats, shotguns, ICBMs, whatever. Solution B: 2 vs. 1. It didn't always work against the Undertaker, but it may just work here. With Gray Maynard laying on him and Frankie Edgar punching him, BJ might have to try hard for once.
  31. Sunburned Says:

    Thu, 01/07/10 - 01:57

Enough of Lesnar already, ugh. Who cares? We have the "Don't be a cock chestnar" line and the phallic tattoo jokes already.
  32. Sunburned Says:

    Thu, 01/07/10 - 01:58

Just saw Brandon "The joke" Vera in the banner above, maybe him and cock chestnar should fight. hahaha.

Dude did you not see kos get destroyed by GSP last time? He ran a train on him like a Jenna Jamison video and he's only gotten better since then. Sorry I know we all have dreams but I don't see this one happening buddy. I agree with you on Lesnar though. I never liked the guy. He's a giant meat head with no ground game except lay and pray and masturbation punches. Good bye and good ridance Brockie
