To be fair to Dana, his last “major announcment” was said in passing to a ESPN the Magazine interviewer. I and a few others grabbed it, posted it on Sherdog and it blew up into this huge deal.

Today, they posted a spot on the front of UFC.com. I think this will be much bigger.

I actually look for Couture to handle Lesnar in this fight. I believe it will be a wake-up jolt for Brock as he will probably be schooled by Randy. All together it makes for an intresting fight. Simply because, it will be the Heavyweight Champion defending his title against (not the #1 contender), and afterward we’ll still have no clear cut, undisputed champion in that class.

I figured Randy would get tooled by Silvia, and then figured Gonzaga would handle him. Now I actually think Lesnar can take him. When will I learn?

i like this fight, itll show brock what its like to be in there with someone who can easily beat him…and it gets randy ready for a fight against fedor, in which after such a layoff he probably wouldnt be ready for. hes gonna need to get ready for fedor against someone, why not a big strong young fighter?

I do NOT like this fight for either Brock or Randy. Brock is coming off a fight with Herring in which he was impressive, but not at Randy’s level. Brock needs a few more fights under his belt to even be considered in the same league as Randy.

NOW, if Brock wins (which is VERY possible) then it just deflates Randy’s already aging career more and the Fedor fight seems less likely. This fight is just not good for either because if Randy tries to take the fight to the ground Brock will over-power and out wrestle him and if Randy stands Brock will get eaten alive.

It just doesn’t make for an exciting fight in my mind.

if this actually happens, i would be very excited to see this match.
i hardly ever look forward to ufc heavywieght bouts but this would be huge.
if couture loses though, randy vs fedor might not be as marketable.
bc on paper, two fighters with winning streaks is much more appealing.

couture may be a strong wrestler, but brock is a stronger, thicker wrestler than anyone in the UFC. I def agree that it should be a 5 rounder. then if brock wins, have his next fight be against Nogueira to make an official heavyweight championship.

if that fight happens it should be a five rounder seem as the old man is still the title holder and i think for the record he’d lose against the musle mountain, sorry to say it but Brock really is the next big thing in the UFC. In his first two fights he knocked both men down with one punch, once it sinks in that no-one can stand with him he’ll knock every heavy weight inside two rounds….

See and I thought that it was about the UFC coming out with Action figures….
