Update: Jason Miller to Make UFC Return Against Aaron Simpson in July

A day after news broke that colorful middleweight star Jason “Mayhem” Miller had signed a new contract with the UFC, it has been confirmed that Miller will make his Octagon return at UFC 132: Cruz vs. Faber 2, July 2nd in Las Vegas.

Mayhem will be facing off against Aaron “A-Train” Simpson, who snapped a two-fight losing streak last month when he out-pointed Mario Miranda at UFC Fight Night 24. Simpson’s previous UFC accomplishments include a Fight of the Night bonus for his split-decision victory over Tom Lawlor, and a Knockout of the Night bonus for his TKO win over Tim McKenzie. A two-time All-American wrestler for Arizona State University, Simpson now operates Power MMA & Fitness in Gilbert, Arizona, alongside teammates Ryan Bader and CB Dollaway.

Said Mayhem about the matchup: “He always fights hard and I know that that night will be no different. Cant wait for my FOTN bonus.” And if there’s a Walkout of the Night award, he’ll probably pick that up too.

I know Simpson has power in his hands but he dosent have the overall striking savvy of Miller and wont be able to keep up with the work rate, and since Miller's glaring weakness is his wrestling(odd for a team quest product) Simpson has a clear path.
After 2 boring rounds of Simpson LnPing on Miller, he runs out of steam and gets subbed. After a lackluster re-debut hopefully he gets paired against a non top control specialist.

I don't know. Simpson always impresses me (but I didn't see the Lawlor fight) with his athleticism (for a non-equatorial body style - latitudism, I know, I'm guilty).

Miller is certainly not being fed some scrub. I think Simpson might break out from the pack soon but it's really too early to tell - so many badasses that still aren't nearly as bad as AS.

Palhares is a beast/man/bearmanpig for sure and YES Souza vs miller plz!I've wanted that fight to happen all year. I don't get why strikeforce didn't do it. Seems obvious for their rematch. I have been preaching Sanchez vs Diaz 2 since the day of buyout. Now I hear echoes. We will get this fight going, it is their deeessstaannnyy. You know how many times I watched the secret to get Noons vs Diaz 2! Fuck I was thinking miss Cleo was tryin to seduce me with those sweet chocolate cheeks....Miller can climb the ladder fast. I still want to see Mayhem fight Jacare again. We never got to see who was going to win the last time they fought, due to the fight being stopped.

Actually come to think of it, I'd like to see Rousimar Palhares fight Jacare. I see Jacare trying to keep him away w/ jabs and that little ball of ugly muscle running through one and clinching to drag it to the floor. That's where the fight would get interesting. Jacare is probably better technically, but theres no gi and Palhares has stubby thick limbs.

Lawlor got fuckin robbed blind in that fight he won the first 2 rounds, and the first round was an easy 10-8.
