Steroids in MMA
Which MMA Fighter Will Test Positive For Steroids Next?

Video of the Day: GSP Continues to Make the Rest of Us Look Like Weaklings

(Video courtesy of YouTube/officialGSP)

Just when you think bench pressing 120 percent of your bodyweight and doing suicide sets of heavy squats without puking was a major gym accomplishment, GSP has to come along and make you rethink how in shape you really are.

The video above further illustrates the fact that working out is a past time for most of us and for St-Pierre it’s a career he takes more seriously than most fighters competing today.

One thing most of us have over Georges is that no matter how in shape we may be, we would never wear a pair of manties like he does. Seriously, dude. Get a pair of board shorts.

Jesus Frijoles- April 19, 2011 at 1:27 pm
Man o man, that looks like a good way to fuck up a rotator cuff to me.
Fedor Penn- April 19, 2011 at 10:27 am
Impressive but swinging you legs up like that adds upwards momentum and makes it easier. I can't let GSP do anything without criticizing it, sorry.
omunto- April 19, 2011 at 7:48 am
Likewise anytime I see crossfit videos where a guy is doing inverted burpies or crazy hand stand pushups, I know I can't do them but that doesnt mean I want to suck him off just cause he can.
omunto- April 19, 2011 at 7:45 am
jesus christ, at what point did I say I could do these or that I am even 1/1000th of the physical specimen that top athletes are??? I was merely pointing out that this video didn't make me think "Wow this guys amazing!" probably because its something that we see done on a (semi) regular basis.

Your telling me that if you watch a wide receiver miss a pass in the nfl you dont clown on the guy? You don't say "wow he kinda sucks" or "man he should be able to catch that no problem"? You say that not because you think you could do better but because you would expect that from him as a top athlete.

Fuck man, didn't know we had so many gymnast fans in Cagepotato.

I am not impressed...
I can do 100's of those with just one arm.
LOKI- April 19, 2011 at 5:53 am
Meh...didnt Vince Vaughn's fat ass do something similar in Old School?
chokeu2- April 19, 2011 at 4:49 am
Wow, there are some seriously critical people here. Did ya'll stop to consider that these muscle ups are probably but one exercise set done as part of an entire workout? I am not a GSP fan, but I respect the guys athletic prowess and ability. Do this exercise as part of a full on workout and see if you say the same, or even do it well as he did it. It may have been "sloppy" compared to what a gymnast does; but then again, a gymnast would get their little asses kicked in MMA. Although they'd be able to do one helluva a muscle up to an iron cross while getting their ass kicked.

If I looked like that I would wear nothing but a thong all day long. (no homo)
SnackDaddy- April 18, 2011 at 10:34 pm
For the life of me, i suck at doing pull-ups. I can do 40 to 50 push-ups in a set but will struggle with a single pull-up, so i'm impressed by this.
PERPATRAITOR- April 18, 2011 at 10:12 pm
Gsp is strong as fuck. I can't don these because my dick is waayy too heavy.
t_iggs- April 18, 2011 at 8:57 pm
What I believe to be the most impressive part of this video, is the fact that GSP grunts in perfect english.
NorthSouthDudesOnly- April 18, 2011 at 8:43 pm
Ric Flair, you're an idiot. You went really far out of your way to try and be funny while being wrong.
Most people aren't impressed because it was a giant build up to GSP doing only a fraction of what many other top athletes can do. It would be impressive if we were given some sort of context, some reason why he only did this amount.
Ric Flair- April 18, 2011 at 8:27 pm
IF you're NOT impressed by this, it can only be because your mother has a $2,000.oo-A-Day crack-cocaine habit, and in her every day quest to gain such an absurd amount of crack-cocaine, you have undoubtably witnessed all there is to see in the "holy fuckin' shit I can't believe what I'm seeing right now" fields/categories...

my hats off to you worldly gents!
Paysayten- April 18, 2011 at 8:13 pm
If muscle ups were a predictor of MMA prowess then the crossfit nasty girls would be able to thrash GSP: __
booyah219- April 18, 2011 at 7:56 pm
Not impressed. Vince Vaughn can do that while puffin on a cig.
TheHulkSmash- April 18, 2011 at 7:56 pm
I'm on the "that's not that hard" bandwagon. Muscle ups are kind of hard, but not if your a top level athlete. And not if you're jumping into them, you're supposed to start hanging with feet off the ground. And not if you have a friendly black guy with his hand on your butt as you go up. Gymnasts can seriously do a 10 set of those (without all the cheating) and be totally fine.
Smitty- April 18, 2011 at 7:42 pm
@ReX15 & Pen Fifteen
With Karate he'll kick your ass.
PERPATRAITOR- April 18, 2011 at 7:07 pm
Be cooler if he was doing some weighted pistol squats. people can rarely do them. Let alone with weights. I can :). Search my channel on YouTube @ jallen2283. GSP can probably do pistol squats easy.
smiledriver- April 18, 2011 at 6:40 pm
Whatevs, pluralise sometime if you want to impress me.
RwilsonR- April 18, 2011 at 6:37 pm
In defense of omunto, I was a little underwhelmed with the video given the build-up by CP. Omunto doesn't need to be able to do it himself to give a half-hearted "meh" to this if he wants to. Sure, it's impressive, but GSP is an impressive athlete. He is already two levels above pretty much everyone else in this sport in both ability and training dedication. This didn't have me thinking he is pushing it to another level still.
jfjjfjff- April 18, 2011 at 6:07 pm
lols @ omunto. please post a video of you attempting your first one... i need a good laugh.
kungfunes- April 18, 2011 at 5:15 pm
Congratz GSP you are the new and improved BJ Penn...

BJ Penn - The video was posted in May 2007, but it looks older based on his hair..
ccman- April 18, 2011 at 4:15 pm
Actually i can do those forever. push ups, any of the strength/balance vs. body weight style stuff. even as i close in on 40. I still do them with an L press in the middle.

Now do not ask me to do a damn single bench press without a nut rolling accross the floor! But I always could and apparently it is a balance more than anythin thing which is what makes it very hard for most. Even if they are much stronger than I am.
dim mak- April 18, 2011 at 3:55 pm
yeah, O-Ring muscle ups are fucking tough--for those of you who aren't impressed, try one the next time you're at the gym.
