Yeah the women’s “fight” was a total laugh riot. Even my wife was laughing hard at how pathetic it was. You’d think Kvokov had never been punched before, and when she did get punched one time she wanted no more of it. What a joke.

Besides the rather lackluster fights, the whole Strikeforce show seriously lacked a lot of polish. From terrible camera work to technical difficulties, it just screamed “2nd rate”. Good fights & fighters or not, they just don’t seem ready to put on a live show. It seemed like a big mess to me, and it had a hard time keeping my attention.

The Couture, Kvokov fight was bad for MMA. She didn’t even fight. They should have stopped it as soon as she turned her back. Did they not watch any tape on her? Has she ever been punched in the face before? She should never fight again, although CagePotato’s comments were hilarious.

It’s safe to say that Lina’s “hold up I got something in my eye” defence was utterly ineffective.

Anonymous…you might want to polish up your MMA history. Joe Riggs did not knock out Nick Diaz. He won by unanimous decision at UFC 57. Riggs was nothing more than a gatekeeper during his time in the UFC. He got an undeserved title shot with Matt Hughes and blew it by not making weight. I admit he’s an exciting fighter. But, he’s nowhere near the level of any of the top welterweights in the world. I do hope Strikeforce continues to grow and take over where EliteXC left off.

Yes i agree you do have to start somewhere. You can’t just jump into the UFC. I was harsh in jumping to that conclusion that they all suck. Obviously almost all the UFC fighters started in smaller shows like king of the cage, strikeforce, etc. After reading you responce and giving it some thought i believe you are right. I am just very spoiled by the more mainstream mma, namely, UFC & WEC.

I will say this though; Scott Smith gets beat down bad in UFC, hence why he isn’t on contract anymore. Kim is horrible fighter and i really wish more quality woman would jump into the fight scene besides Cyborg and Corrano. I really really want to see Cung Le jump into the ring with bigger named opponents because he is very exciting.

NinJay, I disagree completely. Luke Stewart got KO’d by Joe Riggs, who was a title contender who KOd Nick Diaz and fought Hughes not too long ago; no shame in that. And Luke is a young guy who I think is only 5-2 or 6-2 now, and won the first round pretty handily. Add the fact that he is a BJJ black belt and he can be a great fighter. Darren Uyenimora (probably sp error) is another young fighter with great BJJ credentials as well.

You have to start somewhere before you get to the UFC. Guys like Stewart, DU, and Cung Le all have long futures in my opinion.
