If this goes 5 rounds it will be a sorry sight indeed. Overeem was knackered after the Werdum fight and he didn't get taken down as far as I remember. If this goes to the ground with brock on top, I can't see that Overeem (or anyone for that matter) can take that for too long. Brock may gas if the fight is going against him, but if he's just in top position raining down the old masturbation punches, I don't see him losing too much steam over the course of 5 rounds or less.
Equally, if Brock can't get him down quickly, I can't imagine he's improved his striking enough to have any real chance there.
If overeem wins I'll say it would be in the first or second round. If brock gets it, I'd probably say round 3.

Until Brock "Bud Im Wiser now" Lesnar develops some tolerance for big blows to the chin (not looking for a manhole to jump into like against Carwin & Cain) and actually hires a real boxing coach aka freddie roach ect he will never attain his potential. Brock does have a good chin, he's never been knocked out cold. He just does not have the tolerance to take those heavy punches, its more psychological than anything.

I believe Brock has a solid gas tank, but lets not forget that Reem may be the most powerful opponent Brock has or will have faced. If Brock gets an early takedown he will not be able to handle reem and hold him so easily, this is not Frank Mir folks. Now depending on how tired Reem gets in later rounds(if they come) is where Brock's best chances are. Look for the knee during the shot, and watch out for that guillotine Reem likes so much.

Have to agree with Karma—Brock’s probably got a gas tank. Also agree with everyone that the Reem’s standup is deadly, especially for a man like Lesnar who hates being hit. There are so many unknowns in this fight—is Brock healthy? Did he lose 30lbs of muscle? Has he learned to stand in the pocket and trade? Does Overeem have an answer for world class wrestling? Is the Reem ready for a man his own size/strength? All things considered, the odds are in Alistair’s favor, but I could also see a healthy, improved Lesnar hammer fisting his way to a TKO.

Whats with the skepticism about Brock's Anaerobic base? Dudes got one of the best tanks in mma.. Thats a fact. for a striker to be effective he needs to be close enough to hit someone. Once your close enough to hit someone your close enough to be taken down. I agree Lesnar will need to weather the storm and may get Ko'd in the first couple of minutes. If that doesn't happen Lesnar will get a take down and gnp Overeem in the same fashion he gnp'd Mir the second fight. The problem with putting money on this fight is it probably will take 1 good punch to end the fight in Overeeem's favor.

I actually disagree. I'm usually a big Lesnar hater. His experience with strikers has been a negative one sure, Cain beat him down, Carwin beat him up pretty soundly but for the ending. That being said, I think Lesnar will have learned a lot from these fights. When he fought Mir, he focused on fundamentals, and beat him to a pulp. One thing is for certain, Overeem doesn't have the gastank for five rounds based on the Werdum fight and that is not something you can just change in a few months. I believe Lesnar does ... IF ... he doesn't get punched.
