Video: BJ Penn Discusses Hawaiian Tsunami Threat on CNN

(1:44 — "You ever been involved in anything like this before, BJ, besides the havoc that you wreak?")

If you’ve been near a TV or radio anytime today, you probably heard about the massive 8.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Chile early this morning, which triggered tsunami warnings in Hawaii. Thankfully, Hawaii seems to have dodged a bullet, wave-wise, but CNN was following the situation closely this afternoon, aided by local correspondent (and UFC lightweight champion) BJ Penn, who provided the cable news channel with a live video feed from his website and helped describe the scene on the ground; video of his segment is above. Now BJ is gonna try and be an on-scene reporter to generate hits for his site. Lame. I stopped caring about anything BJ had to say when he kept runnin’ his mouth before GSP/Penn II.

It's not how hard Hawaii can hit, it's how hard it can get hit and keep going. My guess is that Hawaii throws in the towel at the end of Round 4.

BJ was a little bit honked off that he couldn't jump backwards out of the tsunami.

I'm loving the fact that the Tsunami Museum is at risk of being taken out by this tsunami.

Great. Now BJ is gonna try and be an on-scene reporter to generate hits for his site. Lame. I stopped caring about anything BJ had to say when he kept runnin' his mouth before GSP/Penn II.

I wonder... is he gonna have his mommy get on the air and vouch for the risk that this tsunami represents to BJ's health, career and well being as a fighter?

BJ promised to take the CNN report to the death, but they cut him off instead.
