Video: ‘Chainsaw’ Charles McCarthy Interviews Kevin ‘Kimbo Slice’ Ferguson Like a Champ

(Video courtesy of YouTube/CageJunkies)

When fighters walk away from the sport, rarely do we see them gravitate towards the other side of the interview microphone, but the decision to do just that was a good one for “Chainsaw” Charles McCarthy. After stepping away from the sport in 2008, the former TUF 4 contestant announced that, in spite of his retirement he would be turning his focus to his American Top Team affiliated gym in Boyton Beach, Florida and would still be involved in MMA.

We haven’t heard from the 10-5 UFC veteran, who was at the wrong of a highlight-reel spinning back kick KO by David Loiseau much since then, but he recently joined up with a relatively new MMA website called “CageJunkies” (original, huh?) and has proven that he’s an adept reporter.

Case in point, in the interview he did recently with his former fellow ATT teammate Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson, McCarthy was smooth and comfortable and used his knowledge of the sport to put together an enjoyable Q&A in which Tags: ,,,,,

---accidentally mis-posted this earlier ---

I think Kimbo interviews well, and this was one of his better non-scripted interviews.

I know there’s not much love for Bird-Slice (that was funny), but he did come from the concrete jungle and did alright in his MMA fights given the limited amount training he was able to clock.

In his last fights, his athleticism started to show through.
Sure he was a money card for the syndicates, but I’d give him props for stepping in the cage.

It would be like one of you trying to beat me at Badminton…

Here's question, will Slice continue to fight MMA in smaller organizations? Surely it won't be the big cash as seen in the past. On the other hand in between his movies deals, there is no reason that both his cage and street game must stop.

So cool to see this here I'm a huge cage potato fan! Thanks for the comments! Also I know Kimbo's manager Icey Mike Imber loves this site.

Please make Kimbo go away. He is a joke and should not be in MMA.

I don't know which is worse, Captcha on CP or having to use your Facebook to comment on CageJunkies. Wouldn't you all love it if my picture was next to all of my comments?
