If you really can’t wait until the UFC 128: Shogun vs. Jones countdown show is on tomorrow night, we’ve got you covered with part one of the program above.

For those of you who can’t watch the video at work and want the Cliffs Notes version, here’s what “Bones” and “Shogun” had to say about their light heavyweight title fight Saturday night.

As always, Jones is cocky coming into the bout and he says he already feels that he’s the champion…you know, because he beat Brandon Vera and Ryan Bader.

“I feel that this is my time and my moment. Winning the belt and keeping the belt is completely different things. My goal will be to be the best champion that ever lived starting now. With or without the belt I already feel as if I’m the champion. We can strike with him, we can roll with him and we can wrestle with him. I’m confident and I think that’s what’s going to make this such a great fight.”

Shogun understands the pressure and experience of becoming a champ at a young age, but says he’s going to pull out all the stops to screech the Jones hype train to a halt.

“I was able to win the PRIDE Heavyweight Grand Prix belt when I was 23 years old. Jon Jones is kind of a similar story — a young guy beating everybody and rising to the top, but I’ll do everything in my power to not let him get a belt at 23 years old.”

We can strike with him, we can roll with him and we can wrestle with him. He doesn't even have his precious belt yet and he's already turning into Gollum.

entertained yes... just (IMO) It's very similar to Shane Carwin...

I mean... here comes this beast... this silent killer who just destroys everything in his path, works up a sweet highlight reel in no time at all... and boom, they put a mic in front of him and it's SO easy to hate the guy...

IF you're gonna be a cocky prick... do it right, like Josh Kosh or No Jail Chael...

As a fight fan, I am very entertained with Jon Jones' the fighter... as a level headed human being with an IQ above 70... I'm staring to hate Jon Jones the person. ya'dig?

I don't know why, but I'm really not all that turned off by Jones cockiness. As far as I'm concerned, about the only champion ever that has been able to seem confident yet not cocky is GSP, and even he has his moments. Jones is exciting, and he finishes fights. Are you not entertained, you guys?

@ Ric Flair
How could you hate him? This is one of those guys that comes along once in a few years.......

well, jones did say that anderson is his favorite fighter so I guess crazy striking abilities and a false sense of humility is what we should expect from him. I'm fine with a little bit of cockiness, just as long as he doesn't start treating his fights like an audition for the soul train dance line or start telling the fans that they are too stupid to appreciate his talents.

Really starting to hate Jones... not my cup of tea.

It doesn't help him that he's fighting my all-time fav fighter in Shogun.
