Video: Countdown to UFC 140

(Meanwhile, back at the GQ press conference.)

In case you missed the full episode this week, we’ve got the entire UFC 140 countdown show for you right here.

Not sure if the production crew for the show has changed since the UFC has cut ties with SPIKE, but this episode has a much different feel than past editions, including new graphic and title sequences and a lot of slow motion shots .

Overall it’s a decent show.

One interesting factoid that came out of the episode is that Only Chuck Liddell in the past five years has successfully defended the UFC light heavyweight belt more than once. Jones has done it once and so has Machida.

Personally, I don’t feel that Lyoto deserves to be a 4 to 1 underdog, but I guess we’ll know come Saturday night.

Fuck it. I just watched Jones Rampage fight. If Jones throws those kicks against Machida hes gonna get his leg caught and taken down + Jones couldnt even keep Rampage on the ground until the end of the 4th round. Machida by submission.

Prior to the knockout Machida was all over Shogun. Dont bother responding to this post, just watch the fight. All I'm saying is this 'he beat him so he beats him' stuff is bullshit. We're talkin about a guy who knocked out Silva, Evans and Randy Couture. Dont really matter though. Jones aint that great he's just got great reach and gettin in close dont solve anything coz he's got great wrestling too. Jones by beatdown. Thank you.

john jones does not have an ego what he does have is talent. very intelligent and who in the world wants to get punched in his face in any fight. he knows his strengths and weaknesses in that octagon. he is dangerous because he studies along with training of his opponents. he avoids making the mistakes that most fighters make. sure we all love a good brawl hendo and shogun best fight period but the kid is methodical and dangerous. this again will be an interesting fight to see how both fighters will use their unorthodox styles and we may see some new moves bring it on!!!

yea, i don't see how a counter-striker like machida can actually hurt jones who himself utilizes his reach advantage so well. basically, like someone on here mentioned before, machida has a crane-kicker's chance of winning this fight. i like machida. i want him to win. but on paper, it's just not happening.

I just wanna see Jones get hurt... see how he recovers. Until he pulls a Frankie, then he's sold completely. Sadly, I don't think Lyoto has what it takes. What if Jone's chin is glass? No ones really popped him yet.

Lyoto slays Rashad, Rashad decisively beats Rampage, Rampage outpoints Machida. You cant go with the whole Shogun beat Lyoto and Jones beat Shogun. Lyoto has the best chance at beating Jones, so does Evans and Hendo. 3 Really tough challenges. Would also like to see a well trained Shogun rematch Jones or Hendo we know what happens with Shogun rematches. MMA is the most exiting sport.

betting lines are adjusted based on how people are putting money down as well. if you feel there is such a great disparity in the odds you should bet on machida because of the potential risk vs return.
