With Sonnengate taking the piss out of the fact that there’s a UFC event this weekend, a lot of us (myself included) forgot that he UFC 119 countdown show was on last night.
If you happened to miss it and you were looking for something to do at work today instead of finishing up putting the new cover sheets on your TPS reports, we got you covered.
We won’t spoil it for you, but the first thing that becomes clear in the latest episode is that they have switched up the format which gives the show a David Fincher movie feel to it.
I’m a fan of the new style, but then again the frenetic pace and non-stop jittery transitions seem to mimic my ADHD-controlled thought pattens, so it could just be me.
A few notes on the show after the jump:
• Cro Cop is PISSED at Mir’s disrespect and is looking to kick his head off into the third row.
• Ryan Bader thinks beating Lil’ Nog will lead to a title shot in one or two more fights
• Frank Mir has still not gotten over losing to Brock Lesnar
• Mir says he isn’t afraid to stand with Mirko and that he "wants a piece of Cro Cop’s anatomy"
• Sean Sherk isn’t going to pass the torch to Evan Dunham willingly

comments2. Come on dog, you can diss the wayans, but why you gotta dog Malcom X?
3. @ destinationblood - I have always liked Mir too. I'm kind of ashamed to say that here in front of everyone, but you gave me strength.
4. I'm gettin carried away with the numbering thing.
5. I went waaaaay to far.
Then it's been a slow downhill trend and as much as id love for crocop to start throwing combo's with a kick at the end I don't know if he has it. As he's said he's only 36 but he's had over 100 fights when you count his kickboxing, boxing and mma records. Countless injuries and years of strain to the body. Id hate to feel how his body probably does every morning.
Im still going to try and put money on him haha. I can't not.
I 2nd the motion.
2) How EITHER of those guys is considered a Main Event-worthy fight is beyond me. Seriously, this is one of the weakest main events I've seen in a looong time (on a PPV - Fight Nights are intended to feature lesser fights)
3) Bader deserves a title shot next year. I say if he wins this, put him in a fight with Jon Jones to determine the next shot at the title.
Malcom Mir?
Frank X?
Frank King?
Don Mir?
Damon Mir?
Frank Wayans?
something like that
agree 100%
I hope CroCop remembers to actually string more than one strike together and finishes Mir. I haven't seen a decent flurry of strikes out of him in years. Remember when he had Aleks pinned in the corner of the ring and tee'd off on him? That is the CroCop I want to see fight Mir!
