You're examples of Lesnar, Jardine, Kongo, and Edgar are laughable. All of those guys were actively trying to defend themselves at all times. NONE of those guys got KNOCKED UNCONSCIOUS and FACEPLANTED LIMP INTO THE MAT. (ok Jardine might have but the fight was stopped)

It was a good stoppage, but that doesn't mean Fedor was unable to continue. Fedor went limp, and then he received two punches to the back of the head (illegal), and with all that, he was conscious the second after. So yeah, it was a good stoppage, but without the stoppage, maybe he could have continue.

At the end of the fight, Fedor had the chance to use his legendary ground and pound on Hendo, but Hendo escaped and KNOCKED OUT Fedor as the two scarmbled to their feet.
Did Hendo hit Fedor with two illegal blows to the back of the head? Yes. Was Herb Dean's decision stop the fight warranted? Yes. Would the fight have been stopped in Pride(where you have to kill your opponent to have the fight stopped)? No. Should this be the end of Fedor? No.
Fedor is one of the, if not most exciting MMA fighters around, even when he loses the fights are exciting and I think he still has something to offer the viewing audience.
I can only hope Hendo re-signs, like a fine wine this guy is getting better with age, sure he shoots himself with test every now and then, but he seems to be doing it right and above all else delivers exciting fights(polar opposite of Chael Sonnen) and so I have no problem turning a blind eye for the sake of entertainment in this case. While I do not think he could be 205 champ in the UFC(neither do I think anyone who's name is not Jon Jones) I do believe once Strikeforce dissolves, he would make a nice addition if Dana and Hendo could work it out. I think Hendo made big bucks on this fight(800kish), so a pay cut may be in store, but I do think if they are paying 250k for tito to show up, they could definitely offer Hendo the same if not more.

If refs are going to stop fights when a guy gets hurt by a punch like that then that means the Cheick Kongo vs Pat barry fight should have been stopped and Pat Barry should have won. It means that the Frankie Edgar vs Gray Maynard title fight should have been stopped in round 1 and Gray Maynard should have won. It means that the Brock Lesnar vs Shane Carwin fight should have been stopped in round 1 and Carwin should have won. In fact, there are a bunch of fights where a guy got his bell rung by a punch like Fedor did against Hendo and the fight was allowed to continue. The fight was stopped prematurely and Herb Dean should have let it go a little bit longer to see how Fedor could recover. IT WAS STOPPED EARLY AND IT RUINED THE FIGHT!
