right or wrong who gives a fcuk? The problem is because he won't shut the fuck up he's creating a huge backlash against the UFC and along with that a lot of the mainstream credibility for the sport...outside of us, most people thing ufc=mma...and unfortunately Dana white thinks Dana=UFC.
I come from a boxing family and I am constantly having to defend mma, white makes it so hard being the face of the sport almost...when he's on my old man is like "who's this cunt who cares what he thinks?"....sums it up for me.

You wasted 5 mediocre points on a non-issue. He did not pay Hendo what Hendo asked for...so Hendo moved on. He said Kimbo sucked, and the only way he'd let him in would be through TUF....so Kimbo did TUF last season. You made a point about marginalizing competition but then jumped the fence and talked about fighter treatment ?? stick to one point, if the marginalizing of another competitor is expected then he's right for doing it, don't omit that by pointing out another negative that has no relevance to the point you just made.

He said he had a boner for signing Fedor...Fedor's people asked for too much, so it never happened, DW is actually very complimentary of Fedor. But the recurring issue here is that DW is a SALESMAN! He's not around to make you have fuzzy feelings about him. He's going to do what will in his eyes develop into a larger bottom line at the end of the year.

I'm not saying not to think he's a douche...go for it. Type up your multi-point forum posts on why his disparaging comments of your favorite fighters upsets you. I just think we're holding him to a set of standards that are not applicable for who he is and what he does.

I think Kimbo's alright. We need a full breadth of competition, not just top 3, top 5, or top 10 guys. A short list of popular guys not even top 20 would have names like: Wanderlei Silva, GZ Calvacante, Gonzaga, Jon Jones, Amir Sadollah, Clay Guida, Takanori Gomi, Rafael Asuncao and others. Obviously there are guys in that list that have way better skills than Kimbo, but, I'd pay to watch him keep the heavyweight gate for the next few years.

Dana was right - Kimbo sucks. He showed a little improvement in the Houston Alexander fight but he's still not anywhere near the hunt. Any top 10 guy would waste him I think. I like how the vid showed the never ending, week-after-week "will Kimbo come back" hype. That drove me nuts and made me feel this past season was the worst by far. It just insulted our intelligence.

1) There is no contradiction between being a good promoter and a douchebag.
2) When a promoter is dishonest, hyprocritical, and disparaging to fighters whom the fans respect enormously, it is a normal human response to feel sickened by that promoter.
3) You are correct in saying that Dana has done great things for the sport, but again, refer to 1.
4) Although hyping a fight and marginalizing competition is expected in the fight biz, Dana has crossed some lines; notably his treatment of Hendo, Fedor, Rampage, and infamously calling Randy a pussy.
5) What makes UFC great is their organizational discipline, relentless love for and promotion of the sport, as well as the great Joe Silva. It is dubious whether DW's attacks on the competition have done anything to support the UFC. For example, even though Dana has denigrated Fedor, his popularity has remained pretty much constant.

Oh my god Dana was talking shit about a guy that had no mma experience yet was main eventing every show his rival put on.. and was praised as "the best heaveyweight striker in mma" by their announcers.. and then when kimbo stepped up to actually go on his reality show for beginners and try to do things the right way he said that he respected him and that he had potential. Then he lost to a guy that had no business being on the show to begin with.. who also ran through every other fighter on the show just as easily as he did kimbo.. and you still gave him a fight in the ufc.. just like you do everyone else who loses on the show. How fucking dare you Dana White...

This video is retarded. The only fucked up thing at any point in the video was the way they kept hyping Kimbo to make a come back on TUF, but we don't even know if Dana had anything to do with that and even if he did.. it's still not really lieing or contradicting.

I'm only a few minutes in and honestly he really doesn't contradict himself and this video is pretty stupid. There is a massive difference between a lot of what he says. "Kimbo sucks at fighting" and "kimbo is a fighter we know he's gonna show up to fight" is not a contradiction. You can have the heart of a fighter and still suck dick at it, we've seen in plenty of times. "Ken Shamrock might beat him, Kimbo sucks" and "Kimbo is explosive and can absolutely catch Roy Nelson and ko him, this is the true test for Kimbo".. again not a contradiction and not untrue. "kimbo is a street fighter, he lost a street fight to Sean Gannon on youtube" and "Kimbo is ferocious, you've seen him on youtube, you know he comes to fight".. no contradiction. "Kimbo sucks" and "Kimbo has potential" no contradiction.

I have yet to hear a single contradiction or anything that wasn't absolutely true. Does he have a different attitude when talking about kimbo? Yes, as one would expect when comparing a guy that is A. fighting in every main event for a rival promotion or B. on your reality show for up and coming fighters. You'd have to be a real retard not to be able to see that there is nothing out of the ordinary going on here.. or you're just a biased Dana hater. No shortage of those around.

I dont blame the guy, Dana may contradict himself often but the motherfucker knows how to pump people up for events. He can talk out of his ass better than anyone ive seen. I still laugh everytime I see the videos about Dana talking about Kimbo BEFORE his entrance to the UFC though. What a cunt, in a good way. Keep it going I say. Its not like most people who watch UFC have ever seen these interviews. Theres a lot of people I know who come watch MMA with us, and dont know what the fuck there talking about. They just come to have some drinks and such. Coming up to me and saying things like " Oh man, howbout that Chuck Liddell eh." Oh and dont get me started about the girls who come along as well and just sit there texting informing us all this is boring every 15-30seconds. Id say out of 10-15 of us who come and hangout and watch UFC, theres 4-5 who know whats going on. At all.

Fuck sakes you guys, he's a promoter, he's just doing his job that doesn't make him a douche or a hypocrite. He's meant to be taken with a grain of salt. Its marketing, its advertising, its promotion.

Dana didn't get into this business to make any of us feel any better about promoters. He got into this to make a profit, let's not forget that. I personally love this sport, and love training. Dana has been responsible for making it that much more accessible to the mainstream population. The douche-baggery displayed by him once in a while, is omitted in my mind when I get to catch some top notch fights every couple months.

Some of us are a bit naive about it all, for our sake...I hope we don't take this same attitude to the used car lot.

In all honesty, I wasn't too keen on Slice entering the UFC as a internet sensation, and was pretty certain he wouldn't have a lot of success against competitive mixed martial artists.

In Elite XC, Slice was more of a brawler than fighter.

DW challenged Slice (re TUF) to put up or shut up, and Kimbo came to prove himself. What surprised me was Slice's humility and determination to succeed. I warmed to Slice throughout the season, and found myself wanting Slice to get his 2nd chance.

Post TUF, Slice didn't just up and walk away from MMA, he went training to get better, to be more prepared, well-rounded, and competitive himself. For this, he's earned my respect. Even if he loses all his fights, I'll still tune in to watch him.

Call DW what you will... maybe he ate crow, or maybe he's just using Slice for ratings and cash. Either way... I get to see fights. Some good, some bad, some horrible mismatches, and outright highway robbery decisions.

Long story short... love him or hate him... Dana White's put in a tremendous amount of effort to spread MMA to. Through diversification, expansion, cracking the mainstream media, and putting up serious competition to pro boxing... mma fans are getting to see more fights and ppv's than ever before, both in UFC and competing organizations trying to keep step.

He can't be blamed for bad judging or poor matchmaking (most of the time), but it seems to me he's ridiculed a lot by internet tough guys when they've never walked a mile in his shoes.

Speaking of Fergie Ferg, when is he gonna fight again? And against whom??

To be fair I think what he is trying to get across is, Kimbo wasn't a good fighter in EXC but he's a good now. That should about clear it all up for you guys.
