Video: Fedor Emelianenko vs. Brett Rogers in Strikeforce
Here's the video of last night's Strikeforce main event on CBS for those of you who, like me, relied on your DVR to record the entirety of last night's event, only to become enraged when the recording cut out early in the first round. Or if you just couldn't tear yourself away from another gripping episode of "America's Most Wanted," that's cool too. Who knows? One of these days you might see your neighbor on there. Then won't you be glad you missed things like awesome fights and the weddings of family members in order to stay home and stare at fugitives on TV.

Brett sucks and fedor struggled... not sayin anything just an observation.
yerdoneson Says:
that finish is the same as the pacquiao-hatton fight...lazy left coming out, fedor goes right down the pipe with the right.
decent showing by rogers though, i especially liked when he ended up mounted on fedor ass-backward
831 Son Says:
I agree. Rogers did pretty well, but like he said himself, he should have thrown alot more punches. Fedor looked like he was struggling more with the Arlovski fight than he was in this fight, but of course, he always comes through.
P.S. Jake Shields is a pussy bitch.
BigBear145 Says:
yea but u can see what fedor was referring to in his post fight interview... brett telographs his punches... and fedor saw it, timed it, and knocked him out.
Lunk Says:
that son of a bitch owes me $400.
Im gonna get a big picture of Rogers and show it to my son every night, and explain "This is the bad man who stole our Christmas this year."
One Two Says:
rookie mistake gotta extend the recording a half hour.
Love that you can hear the punch land it's like they were in a quiet japan Arena
One of my favorite knock outs ever!
BigBear145 Says:
you bet on brett... you should take a picture of ur self and explain how his dad is a dumbass.
TheArtof8Limbs Says:
inevitable end for this fight. i personally thought an armbar or kimura was going to finish it...but very impressive by the emperor...add this to the highlight reel fedor
btw: CAN WE PLEASE TALK ABOUT FRANK SHAMROCK HAVING BRACES? HAHAHA
busted_cranium Says:
A few more punches while he was on the ground and Fedor would have been FeDUR. If Rogers didn't gas on that flurry it would have been a very different ending to that fight.
Tai-Pan Says:
Yes and if only Arlovski hadn't thrown that knee... sigh...
@Lunk: I feel bad for your kid, having retarded parents is tough.
McMonkeyBoy Says:
Im sorry but fedor struggled? Whutt? He was caught by a flurried punch in the beginning and then regained control everytime it looked like Rogers had him and then he sent a Dan Henderson to Bisping style delivery punch at Rogers jaw, fell forward and knew it was over. That was a really entertaining fight.
skeletor Says:
He's still the man. I don't know what I was worried bout. i put $1000 on Fedor, for some reason it didn't pan out
skeletor Says:
Fuck that I think i won the Power ball!
RustyShackleford Says:
No doubt Rogers hurt Fedor. Do you think they'll have a rematch?
RaWrBoOm Says:
LMAO
K.E.G. Won the power ball
BigBear145 Says:
Mcmonkeyboy, Fedor was on his back getting beat up, he didnt look great in the first. but Brett had no indurance and telographs his punches... if u didnt see fedor in trouble that fight... i dont know what u were watchin
SiDeBuRnZ Says:
Is he died?
ReDx Says:
You should know better after the past few years of WEC shows. I always record at least 2 shows past the end time. Even EliteXC shows were doing it last year. UFC is the only that seems to be able to manage their time slot.
denver_rolling Says:
honestly, I thought Brett looked great, way better than I thought. I think if that guy works on his cardio he could have definitely taken teh Fed out. Hope there is a rematch, it was crazy seeing Fedor get owned and pounded on the ground.
Nippletwist Says:
bwahaha somebody needs to call a waahmbulance for grim, that post fight interview was retarded
fedor is a super freak he took such hard shots when he was on his back and didn't even look hurt and every time he touched rogers with a punch it almost dropped him
where does strikeforce find these retard announcers? they have annoying voices, small vocabularies, dumb analogys and seem to know very little about the sport. and that post-fight interviewer too, guy could barely form a sentence. wtf, you're hiring a guy and his only job is to speak, why not hire a journalist or something? who are these fucktards?
AkilleeZ Says:
I can't believe people are saying Fedor struggled.
He took some good licks to the face, yes, especially while he was on the ground. Did he ever show signs of being hurt, though? NO. Did he ever show signs of losing his cool? NO. Did he ever stop defending himself? NO. He recovered quickly, and continued to dominate.
That said, Brett Rogers fought well. There's only so much you can do against Fedor. He could fight Fedor 1000 times with 1000 different game plans and I would be surprised if he won a single match.
se7ensenses Says:
I wonder how the ratings were for the fight? I'm curious to see them compared to the infamous Griffin vs. Bonnar numbers.
Goog Says:
I was never a Fedor fan, but he gained a point with me last night. I was really hoping Rogers wouldn't be the guy that beats him. He'd be the next Buster Douglas... overhyped and shoved in people's faces until the next fight where he'd lose and go to the back of the line again. And he got a bit cocky for my liking. But the best part was them calling Rogers the "knockout artist" and calling that his best weapon.... only to have it go the other way and he got KTFO. An armbar would've just had people saying Fedor got lucky and didn't match power with Rogers. So I love that the undefeated KO artist got KO'd for his first loss.
Wyatt Says:
There is an option on your DVR to end the recording time later, get with the times man!
MoshuDragon Says:
That's it? The EA MMA game preview showed them running head first at each other, trading perfect blows, performing Rampage-esque slams on one another. I'm disappointed.
510koaLa Says:
rogers went in at 8 today(sams club)
and yes shields is indeed a "pussy bitch"
Muay Thai KICK Says:
I'm with AkilleeZ on this one...
Rogers landed one straight early that busted his nose, and that was IT. Even when he had him mounted and tried to ground and pound, not a single one really connected. Then he almost got caught in an arm bar.
I think because of the fact that Fedor didn't just eat him alive for the whole fight people are quick to say he struggled or he got hurt by Rogers... Not in the least bit.
Overhand Murderballs Says:
@ J Drews & AkilleeZ
Thank god!!! At least a couple people actually WATCHED the fight.
Rogers is blessed that FEDOR is such an honorable sportsman, because T.L.E. could have put him to sleep with a hand gesture, took a dump on his chest, and then jumped in the crowd an sodomized his wife. That would have been a real reason to get upset.
TrouserSnout Says:
WOW...sounds like a jump of Fedor's nuts bandwagon is starting here....LOL....Yes Fedor won...with a nasty knockout...but if you say that Fedor didn't struggle just a bit, your are fuckin blind.
KenFlo Says:
Fedor struggled..??? Haha...thats funny I remember Grimm being the one struggling. In fact, I remember him struggling to get up after Fedor put that jig to sleep. Next, please.
itsgalf Says:
I'm appalled at the Russian Translator though - Fedor wasn't saying that at all. What he was actually saying:
"I'd like to thank God, my wife, M-1 Global, Strikeforce, Brett Rogers...but most of all, I'd like to thank my Sweater of Absolute Victory for once again pulling me through the fight. Goodnight"
Machineboi Says:
Ken FLO
Who the fuck yall callin a JIG bitch ????..Tough white boys on the internet LMAO!!!
And stop dick riding, Fedor did struggle he was in alot of pain at the end of the fight and took a nasty beating in the first round. That was HIS BLOOD ALL OVER THE RING. Its sad I like fedor as a fighter but his fans suck pig cock
just some dong Says:
It's funny how this was supposed to be Fedor's big "coming out" here in the states, fighting on broadcast TV, yet anyone who DVR'd the fight didn't get to see him. Well done.
Overhand Murderballs Says:
I don't know about the "jig" part... but in regards to the "BLOOD ALL OVER THE RING" Everyone knows that Fedor is a bleeder. Rogers could have stepped in the ring with marshmallows for hands and Fedor would have leaked all the same. One decent jab, and Two solid punches (that landed) from the mount do not add up to a "Nasty Beating" The cage did play to Fedor's disadvantage especially when he was about take Roger's arm as a Trophy. Without the cage Roger's would have a first round loss.
Savageleto Says:
@Machineboi Says: And stop dick riding, Fedor did struggle he was in alot of pain at the end of the fight and took a nasty beating in the first round. That was HIS BLOOD ALL OVER THE RING. Its sad I like fedor as a fighter but his fans suck pig cock///
I do not understand where you saw a Nasty beating in the first round...
With the jab that opened the PRE-existing cut on Fedor's nose-- It clearly did not faze Fedor in the least.
Comon man... You have to bear witness correctly now...
MoshuDragon Says:
@just some dong
I blame Shields.
Bloodlust Says:
Thought each guy up'd his stock in this fight. Rogers defended Fedor's takedowns better than I thought he would, and when they were grappling he did a good job of avoiding a few subs, particularly a few aggressive kimura attempts by Fedor. He also took a nice left hook from Fedor early on that would have ended it for more than a few.
Fedor showed again that he can win at any time and looked good in all aspects of his game. His hands were quick and powerful, his takedowns relentless, and his sub game aggressive. Good show overall for Strikeforce.
Muay Thai KICK Says:
First off, KenFlo you are an idiot.
That aside, if you watch the fight, nowhere do you really see Fedor struggle. He knocked/threw Rogers down multiple times, then made his head spin with that overhand.
I'm not taking anything away from Rogers, and I'm not saying that Fedor got an easy victory, but I do have a hard time seeing where in fact Fedor "struggled" during the fight.
Bovice Says:
@Bloodlust
I agree 100%.
SinCityMMA Says:
What's the point in speculating whether or not Fedor struggled? That's like saying Lesnar struggled because Mir caught him a few times in the stand-up which made Lesnar turtle up and immediately shoot for the takedown.
I mean does Fedor need to step into the cage and not take a single strike or reversal on the ground to meet your expectations?
At the end of the night. Lesnar still bashed Mir's face in and guess what .. at the end of the night Fedor still knocked a 10-0 fighter, who probably the night of the fight outweighed him by nearly 40lbs into the next decade with a PERFECTLY timed right hand. Give credit where it's due. We saw a much improved Brett Rogers and we saw Fedor doing what he does best. Regardless of any adversity be it skill-set, experience, or size of his opponent, he finds a way to win.
RasTrent Says:
People act like Fedor should lose cred because he didn't walk in there and knock Brett cold with 1 punch in the opening 10 seconds. You can't expect him to walk through every opponent, everytime out. Nobody will do that. I saw IMO no point in this fight where Fedor was in trouble. People that said he was hurt and in danger when he was taking shots to the face and head when he was on his back must not have seen many Fedor fights. It ain't his first time at the rodeo, so to speak. Hell, he was on his back taking harder shots than that against Hong Man-Choi before he tapped him with an arm bar from hell. Brett looked better than I expected, but Fedor was never hurt, in trouble, etc.
tallkitchenbags Says:
rogers needs to tie his pants up, rookie!!!!!
Da Spied Her Says:
The only time I saw Fedor struggling was with the mechanics of how to fight in the cage. And it looks to me like he figured it out pretty quick.
Chiggs Says:
Lunk, thats some fuckin funny shit right there!!!
