Video: Fedor Sparring With 22-0 Pro Boxer to Prepare for Henderson

Fedor has been taking his training for his last kick at the cat upcoming tilt with Dan Henderson next weekend seriously, enlisting the help of several top-tier training partners like his brother Aleksander and professional boxer Denis Lebedov to prepare for the former PRIDE and current Strikeforce champion.

It’s surprising how well he handles himself against Lebedov, considering he knocked out Roy Jones Jr. two months ago. Sure, RJJ is getting up there in age, but so is Henderson, who will turn 40 in August.

“The Last Emperor” has apparently been taking his cardio and nutrition seriously as well as he appears to have dropped a few pounds judging by this Russian clothing commercial that was released this week.

Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Henderson takes place on July 30 at the Sears Center Arena in Hoffman States, Illinois. The main card will be broadcast live on Showtime starting at 10:00 pm ET.

This is a killer cast. Those fighters aren't bums and they are just as good as the UFC fighters. Now they're fixin' to be in the UFC, with a few exceptions (Daley, Hendo; although he may come back)

2 things:

Number one, the featured article thing has to go. I'm sick of that shirtless jackass staring at me.

Secondly, I can't find too much wrong with him sparring with a credible pro boxer, Aleksander, plus the muy thai training in Holland. He seems to be actively trying to improve, and he looks to be in good shape. I would say he weighs 210-215 in that commercial. This is alot better than him beating up on the local kids in Stary Oskol like has the last two or three fights. I'm pleased with what he's doing as far as preperation.

Boxing with a six and a half foot Aleks and a left handed boxer is not good sparring choices.

Fedor puts his lead right on a 22-1 pro boxer whenever he wants...Hmmmmm. "This is not looking good for Fedor." People need to open up their eyes to how Fedor fights and trains, people think he's like the Juggernaut or something. He should have been knocked out so many times at this point... Research Russian Martial Art (RMA) and you will understand the unconventionality of his foot work, guard, and head movement. GOOGLE IT.

Is that Kostya Tzsyu in Lebedov's corner, or am I just a racist who thinks that all Russians look the same? I don't expect my American brethren to know much about him, but Fat Belly Frank might get a kick out of it. For those that don't know, he is a Russian/Australian boxing legend who hit like a Goddamn freight train.

In the second round Fedor attempts just right power shots, which is, what everyone expects, just like Henderson. He should be a little bit less predictable.

Fedor looking pretty lean. Methinks a drop to lightheavy is in the works, whether the Sambo coach says so or not. He looks pretty good sparring here, and Jon Jones is BEGGING to be armbarred (see Matayushenko and Vera fights). I reckon Hendo is in trouble on the 30th. This fight is making my MMA Boner stand on end!

I thought he looked decent here, still fast. Lebedov is no joke.

However, he is hopping around a lot and not very efficient and his guard doesn't look good for boxing...and if you look on youtube, Fedor looks gassed and Lebedov starts picking him apart in the next round of sparring.
