Steroids in MMA
Which MMA Fighter Will Test Positive For Steroids Next?

[VIDEO] Full UFC 149 Press Conference From Calgary

(We’re sorry, Tom, but it’s just not the same. Photo courtesy of MMAMania.)

Just a couple of hours ago, the UFC held a press conference in Shaw Court, Alberta, Canada, to promote UFC 149: Jose Aldo vs. Some Guy (it’s a joke, take it easy), which is expected to transpire on July 21st from Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Surprisingly absent from the conference was that of UFC President Dana White, who was in turn replaced by Director of Operations for UFC Canada, Tom Wright. Also absent was a hearty supply of French fries and gravy for the fighters involved, which was a real shame in our opinion.

In the co-main event of the evening, the most hated wanted man in the middleweight division, Michael Bisping, will square off against hard nosed slugger Tim Boetsch. Also expected for UFC 149 will be Antonio Rodrigo’s Nogueria’s return to the octagon for the first time since Frank Mir went all Paul Harris on his arm, the difference between their UFC 140 scrap and the average Paul Harris fight being that Nog waited until after Mir broke his arm to tap, not the other way around. Anyway, Big Nog will be squaring off against the inconsistent but always dangerous Cheick Kongo, who is coming off a knockout loss at the hands of Mark Hunt at UFC 144.

Check out the full video and lineup below.

UFC 149 Lineup

  • Champ Jose Aldo vs. Erik Koch (for featherweight title)

Just ask Ben. He did the same to Fitch right after he lost to GSP, straight to the bottom of the card you go. I’m surprised Fitch didn’t get cut after the Hendricks ko.

that card is surprisingly stacked, i'm going to make a Vegas bet that every fight on the main card ends in a K.O. or T.K.O. The undercard is looking pretty damn exciting as well. Koch doesn't deserve the title shot, and has no clue what he's in for, Dana's feeding him to the lions. WAR ALDO

"Surprisingly absent from the conference was that of UFC president Dana White,"
That what? What of him was absent? His hair? His gentle manners and debonair wardrobe?
@kaboom82 - Dana has been praying for a reason to bump Fitch down to the prelims for some time. Why do you think Hendricks now gets the option to hang out for a few years and wait for a title shot? Because he is now the most beloved of all the UFC children. Dana holds one helluva grudge. Just ask Ben. He did the same to Fitch right after he lost to GSP, straight to the bottom of the card you go. I'm surprised Fitch didn't get cut after the Hendricks ko.

Aldo does not look ready yet but the guy just always brings it so I think this fight has the makings for a good war. Koch likes to stand so I can see them having some good exchanges. Like always though, I don't see Aldo losing this fight.

Check out what Aldo teammate Renan Barao said about the UFC offering him a fight with Urijah Faber

I feel like this Headline scrap really doesn't decide anything. If by chance, Koch beats Aldo (and we're talking, killed by a shark, chances), he'll have to immediatley rematch Aldo. It seems like every champion these days get a mulligan if they lose the first fight.

wow, Johny Hendricks not only has knock out power, he has knock-your-ass-down-to-the-prelims power. Impressive.
