Video: Gary Shaw Talks Resurrection of EliteXC, Kimbo and the Possibility He May Start an MMA Promotion

(Video courtesy YouTube/

Just when we thought we’d heard the last of his creepy lecherous sweatpant-wearing ass when it came to MMA, Gary Shaw has wriggled his way into a new interview with Fight Hub TV and shared his thoughts on the return of EliteXC, Gina, Jake Shields, Kimbo and whether or not he sees himself back in the MMA business in the future.

Though he says he would never work for EliteXC again even if the new ownership group approached him (which they won’t), Shaw, who hints that somewhere down the road he may try his hand at starting a new MMA promotion of his own, says he still believes that an organization can come along to overtake the UFC.

Shaw also says that Kimbo would have a lucrative boxing career, too, so I’m not sure I put much stock into his opinions on anything related to MMA, especially not his view on how female fighters like to be congratulated after their fights.

Gary Shaw is the man. Get back into MMA Gary. Elite was the shit on CBS.

I agree with that fat sleazeball that Kimbo would be a bigger star if he boxed. I wonder how Kimbo would do in K-1?

Nope, fuckit, misanthropy has got the right track, I'm sure there are plenty of ex fighters not aligned with any bigger camps who would do a fantastic job and have the feel for the fight. I'm still gonna look into that accreditation thing though
fatbellyfrank- May 4, 2010 at 3:55 am
^^ sure they want untainted, but you need to have refs who have a feel for the dynamics and flow of the fight, ex fighters would fit the bill, but as David says accusations of bias would flow pretty freely. I would suggest guys who have trained in the disciplines, but didn't take the next step for whatever reason, are probably as good as any to target right now. Are there accreditation course available these guys could look at? I've thought about it myself, I'm too old these days for anything else, but I love the fights. I might have to look into this, I'll get back to you guys.

Mr_Misanthropy, indeed. I think the problem is fighters being biased. Imagine what would happen if say Forrest Griffin was a ref and he made a tuff Steve Mazzagatti call against somebody that was fighting a buddy from Extreme Couture. I think the Commission(s) want people "untainted" by the industry but in doing so, they hire Soccer Refs and Diesel Mechanics for MMA Fights. They succeed in finding untainted opinions and perspectives, but in doing so, they undermine the sport and actually hurt peoples careers.

Not to come out of left field- and not to sound doucheistic- but I was looking at the ol' Shlerpdog a moment ago, with which I have a love/hate relationship (they do own a certain fightfinder), and they were discoursing about the "officiating conundrum".

They were speaking about how Marc Ratner wants to cull officials from the ranks of fighters. I think this is a great idea. One of the better refs I have seen outside of the UFC is Troy Mandaloniz in ROTR. The event he got cut from in the UFC (which was a great fight) I remember had some lame ass Mazzagati (sp?)/ Latrine bullshit on it and I couldn't help thinking what a loss, Mandaloniz would have done a better job.

Anyway- good plan. I bet there are alot of the old fighters that kind of missed the gravy train that would make way better officials than all of these bottom-feeder parasite boxing commission leftovers that are fucking shit up these days. Fucking losers.

I think he should have to battle Coker to the death in a sealed Yamma Pit in front of Showtime executives to curry their favor and gain their blessing to run The World's Most Visible Failed MMA Organization. Winner proceeds to the championship bracket vs. Vadim Finkelstein's sweaty chest hairs on a live CBS telecast announced by Kermit the Frog and Fonzie Bear...waka waka waka...

Why is Shaw being dignified with an article in CP? he is a genuine bottom feeder that one, I heard he got knocked back by an ambulance chasing legal team because he couldn't meet their ethical standards ( last bit is BS but you get what I mean)

Wow, Gina can't get away from him fast enough! She must have mistaken him for Bam Margera's uncle, not the guy who signed her checks (and I must admit I did a double-take myself).

Who the hell would want to sign with Shaw anyway? Junie Browning? Kimbo's buddy Pimpbot 5000? Various TUF castoffs? Good luck with that.

Damn that's a creepy fat old bastard. Someone should poke him with a fork so his goo spills out
FightZen- May 3, 2010 at 6:32 pm
Haha... I remember seeing that live and thinking, "what a creepy bastard". Then I realized who it was, and thought, "what a creepy bastard"!
David_Banner- May 3, 2010 at 6:30 pm
..........LOL!! Gary would having a better shot at going after XArm with a new XLeg Promotion then doing anything serious involving MMA. Get lost Shaw, you ruined the Sport once but NEVER AGAIN.

I didn't catch a boob grab in that gif, but then again, viewing angle is sometimes the cause of grounded knees to the head (Rich Attonito), eye pokes (Josh Koscheck), referee stoppages (Dave Smith, Bellator XIV), and penis tattoos (Brock "The Cock" Lesnar).

Gary Shaw knows how to promote boxing and how to cop a feel with the left hand like a pro(on the way out kids....on the way out of the hug).

NO Love for you Kim Couture, GTFO!

I didn't listen to the Jobba The Shaw interview, but I'm pretty sure it sounded like this: OooojabooogiewooongaSkala.
