Video: Mike Swick is in Trouble; Anderson Taught Erick Silva Seagal’s Kick of Doom

Well, it’s safe to say the UFC better have an ambulance running outside the venue for Mike Swick at UFC 134.

According to this training video posted by Tatame, his opponent for the August 27 Silva vs. Okami event in Rio de Janeiro, Erick Silva has been working diligently at perfecting the purported Steven Seagal-created kick Silva used to nearly decapitate Vitor Belfort at UFC 126 in February. Although you can barely make it out, especially if you don’t understand Portuguese, the UFC newcomer can be heard on the video telling his pad-holders, “If do right, no can defend.”

A more accurate truth has never been uttered.

RIP Mike Swick. We hardly knew you.

If you're looking for legitimacy in NY, Royce Gracie is likely the name you want to drop from association. HE, and the way he fought in the early no-holds-barred days, are what the curmudgeons in NY are fixated on.
In short, blame the Gracies for no MMA in NY.
swick is gonna superman punch the shit out of that bitch

MMA is still looking for credibility (think New York) and because of that we need to keep Seagull's name out of it. Royce Gracie used the same kick back in his day, albeit without knocking anyone out. Did Seagull teach it to him too?

the big question mark is the state of Swick's health. I really think Anderson Silva's super kick only works against people who stand there waiting for him to do it, ala Vitor Belfort. No WAY would he have got that on Chael, on Henderson, on any high class non-brazllian. Maybe on Couture because he's old and slow. But seriously guys, anything can happen in a fight, and we're tying coincidence together pretty severely here. Machida was going to beat couture anyway, Silva was going to beat Belfort. This guy is a nobody and Mike Swick doesn't seem like a moron, surely he'll, i don't know, put his elbows closer together? I mean Bas said it best on insidemma, there's a way to block a front kick to the face, and vitor didn't do it. Just like Rogers could've trapped and rolled out of the mount with Rogers, but chose just to let himself lose. fighting is 100% mental and if you mentally fuck your opponent up with your dancing so badly that you can land a front kick, good on you. I just don't see a no-reputation guy doing it just by having the same name

@Goat Seagal is a legit Aikido master with a high end pedigree, even ran an Aikikai affiliated dojo in Japan which was fairly impressive for a round eye, at least back then. All of this MMA stuff seems kind of silly though

Silva looks like he's barely trying to hit the bag in the first minute of the video but the sound it makes when he's connecting is so loud. he's pretty good.

Is it me, or is the fact that Steven fuckin' Seagal (the same stupid karate guy from my film-going youth) has been linked to the current P4P best fighter in the world, Anderson Silva? Is that not totally insane? Is this not the most ridiculous and silly happenstance EVER?

Please, someone tell me it's not.
