Steroids in MMA
Which MMA Fighter Will Test Positive For Steroids Next?

Video: MMA Live with Bjorn Rebney, Rashad Evans and Kenny Florian

(Video courtesy ESPN)

If you missed last night’s episode of MMA Live, not to worry, we got you covered, mang.

If you couldn’t be bothered to actually watch it and expect us to give you the pertinent stuff in a nutshell, we got you covered there, too.

Here’s what you missed:

- Kenny Florian says he would be interested in a fight with Jim Miller at UFC 129 in Toronto if his injured knee (which did not require surgery to repair a torn meniscus and ACL) heals in time.

- Bjorn Rebney says that the new Bellator deal with MTV will ensure that their events are not pre-empted if they go over their broadcast time, which will be the same each week.

- Rebney also said that despite his efforts the Strikeforce co-promoted Gilbert Melendez-Eddie Alvarez match-up is pretty much dead in the water at this point.

- Junior Dos Santos has been training his Muay Thai with Brandon Vera at Alliance in San Diego.

- Dos Santos has said that he is planning to keep his championship bout with UFC heavyweight champ Cain Velasquez (which is rumored to be slated for the April show in Toronto) standing.

- Both Rashad Evans and Ken-Flo believe that their teammate Georges St-Pierre will fight Jake Shields in Toronto.

Casa de los pan...Get with the program, GSP is a mixed martial artist just ask Koshcheck about only taking guys down and wrestling...the most dominant coolest and classiest guy in the game is GSP.

GSP vs Shields? I gotta say, fuck that noise. What happened to the good old days when you had to earn a title shot? Remember way back when, before Brock Lesnar, when a fighter had to work his way through a division?

You know, become a top-tenner and then a top-fiver, and finally, after enough victories, become the top contender. Like that.

Jake Shields was the champ of a different weight class in a lesser promotion. For reals, if we wanted to challenge the best Jake Shields there is at the peak of his game, give him a shot at the MW title.

If he survives a fight against Silva, only then will he be in a position to ask DFW permission to drop to WW in order to eventually challenge GSP for the belt.

A little common sense, Joe Silva. Milk that challenge of the champions thing a while. Let the fans fight it out online. Let him get destroyed by A. Silva, spend a while recovering, then allow him to be clobbered by GSP.

From there, GSP moves up a weight class to challenge MW, and Shields can fade into the background along with Jens Pulver and every other overrated douche who doesn't yet know his career is over. Just sayin'. Jeezus, sorry for the novel.

GSP vs shields...great. The only fight even worse than GSP or Sheilds vs Fitch again. GSP is about as exciting to watch as Dan Quinn mixing up mackeral, protein power and dirty water in a blender...

Wait, no...Dan Quinn is definitely more exciting... playboy.

GSP has no business being in the ring with Anderson Silva. The true Anderson Silva, the Anderson who first came to the UFC and walked through everyone, would kill GSP.

I stopped buying PPV cards with St. Pierre on them long ago...same with Penn. I'm not paying $50 to see GSP dry hump people all 5 rounds and for Penn to be utterly high on 'something', as he goes from looking like a killer to looking like he is thinking of what type of cereal he wants in the morning, instead of fighting.

If Belfort comes correct with his dynamite fast hands of old, that fight with Anderson might be over fairly fast. Silva may have more weapons, but the phenom has better ones.

Anyone else find it ironic/comedic that, right around the 13:50 mark, Stanky Leg Evans says Jim Miller isn't ready for a title fight 'cause he hasn't won in an impressive manner? Just saying.

Agreed. After what we saw in the Sonnen fight, i think its safe to say GSP could grind out a wresting win on silva.

Interesting they who know him best & work out with the ww champ...have no hesitation seeing him beat Silva. I am a huge Gsp fan and think it would be a close fight but mma style wrestling is likely the key to beating Silve and gsp is one of the best in the sport.

They should just have GSP fight Shields on NYE. Get it out of the way, so that he can start packing on some weight for a fight I actually want to see. Although, seeing Shields overrated ass handed to him will be nice.

If GSP is fighting Shields in TO...I am stoked,...we finally get to witness the mediocrity of Jakes stand-up, and he'll see that his ground game is just not up to snuff either. I predict a massacre of epic proportions.

Finally someone else said that they don't think GSP should put on extra weight if he fights Anderson Silva.

I might have missed it, I think I was doing something else last night, but can't quite remember.
