Steroids in MMA
Which MMA Fighter Will Test Positive For Steroids Next?

Video: Nick Diaz Ain’t Scared of GSP, Homie

(Video courtesy of IronForgesIron)

Nick Diaz has quickly become one of the most polarizing figures perhaps behind only Chael Sonnen in the sheer even number of fans and haters, but it looks like some facets of the Stockton native’s act may be more calculated than we thought.

While making a rare media appearance on HDNet’s Inside MMA last night Diaz told hosts Kenny Rice and Bas Rutten that his callout of UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre wasn’t a spur of the moment decision he made after beating BJ Penn at UFC 137. He explained that he was pretty sure he’d get his previously promised title shot if he chose his words carefully for his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan and that he was happy that St-Pierre took the bait.

“You don’t always come off the way that you want to or look the way you want to [in interviews]. I go out there and just act up and become the evil villain and I’m calling guys out and stuff,” Diaz explained. “It seems to have worked. I’m getting the fights I want. I can’t complain right now at this point.”

Complaining is pretty much what Nick Diaz does all the time, but again, it gets him what he wants, be it a reaction, more money or bigger fights.

Now that he finally got the fight with St-Pierre that he’s been calling for for a few years, Diaz says he has his work cut out for him when it comes to preparing for the dominant champion, but he feels that he has what it takes to dethrone him again.

He takes a somewhat analytical approach in detailing how he plans on going about beating “Rush.”

“It’s all about how you come out and fight. It can always go different, you know? I could go on the bottom a lot, but are you gonna be able to advance position? Are you gonna be able to do damage from there? Are you gonna stall? Are you gonna fight? There’s a lot of different stuff that can happen. It’s up to me to kinda make some stuff happen. Five rounds is a lot of time for me to work with in this one,” he explained. “I enjoy fighting five rounds. I work hard to be in good condition to fight for five rounds. It’s important to plan for everything. That’s what I’m good at. He’s fighting somebody who’s gonna do everything.”

Sorry dudes, but I think you all have it wrong.

I'm pretty sure when you hear CP is banned by the UFC, what it really means is that the UFC doesn't provide reporters/employees from CP with press credentials for their events. Some people from blogs and websites receive press credentials giving them special access to the fighters and personalities at UFC events. I mean, look at Ariel H. he obviously has an all access press pass.

If the UFC doesn't agree with a blog for whatever reason and has a problem with what they write, or how they portray the UFC or Zuffa...Boom. They're cut off. No more access for the blog's employees. Of course, the employees/reporters of the "banned" blog could still buy tickets and go to an event, but they wouldn't be treated as members of the media and would have NO special access.

A UFC ban on CP is nothing more than that, as far as I know.

Why would Break Media pay Cage Potato employees? Think logically like the Pimp and Whore.

Break Media owns Cage Potato - Break Media invented-or bought out this website, but make no mistake they own everything you have ever posted since 2007.
This means two things for sure. First, anyone getting into MMA in 2007 is no doubt a poser - or a kid. Second, Goldstein, Russell, Jones, and yes even poor Karma suck the cock of Keith Richman.
It's Richman who writes the checks and who now signs the contracts. I wonder how many shares Goldstein was offered when he sold out?
If it wasn't more than Dana's 10% of the Break Media shares Ben, we will downgrade your name to just a Silverstein or a Bronzestein.
Being that Cage Potato is just the little bitch in this arrangement, usually when the big Pimp tells the little Bitch to take her ass out on the street corner and earn. That is what the whore must do.
It's more like "yoh bitch, take your ass out to the corner, give it up, and don't let me catch you pinching anything...or you get the beat down - just like Carmen Valentina."
Fact is neither Ben nor his minions have the business acumen in their bio's that describes any high level business development efforts. Instead, they have been merely entertainment and sports journalists.
Point is the entire "Banned from the UFC" campaign was likely created in the Los Angeles corporate offices on a "white board" by the executive staff inside Break Media as a ploy, and later sold to the UFC as some bright idea.

How can anyone hate on this guy?

Enjoy him while you can.................

I was under the impression that CagePotato makes its money through the advertising that's done on their website. Maybe they get paid by Break Media too. I'm pretty sure UFC doesn't pay them anything, simply because they don't have to. Anyway, this debate can be very easily settled...
XENOPHON- November 8, 2011 at 11:42 pm
You've asked a question, not ask it again. Why would big bucks Break Media (with the Cage Tator Tots) want to give Zuffa anything for free? CP is no usually fan page.
Unless they cook the books, they are considered a premier portal. That means, they get paid from somebody. With the exception of Karma, do you think any of the editors here works for free???
As you think these men work for free, and pay for the websites development, and the cost of running the servers...who is Cage Potato's client - if not the UFC?
SnackDaddy- November 8, 2011 at 9:15 pm
Zuffa is getting mileage for UFC through CP; why would they shut them down? It Doesn't mean they have to pay them jack shit either. Its just like the other billions of fan pages for pretty much anything on the internet.

@ J-Dog, You must be new here that conspiracy theory of XENO's is as old as the Kennedy one. WAR Diaz.
XENOPHON- November 8, 2011 at 5:05 pm
What proof do have that CP is banned? Tell us how you know this?
From what I see, they have nearly every bit of UFC news. Why are they not shut down. A legal order called a TRO, (temporary restraining order) is all the UFC would need.
Its cheap, they cost less than $10,000 dollars. So why doesn't the UFC or ZUFFA file an injunction, any injunction?
I share one secret with you...there is nothing in record in Los Angeles or Las Vegas. Not against CP there isn't.
So tell us, for a measly $10,000 dollars, why a monster like ZUFFA does not slam CP? Let all hear what you got to say, Jay?

Xeno, who knows what to beleive, I beleive honestly that Chael Sonnen is a border line phsychopath with some of the behaviours he displays, but everyone else seems to think he's "keeping it real" I think the same may go for Nick, obviously as this footage shows he can keep it together and come across as quite a reasonable young man, however some of the stuff we've seen where he just loses control, is not IMO an act
J-Dog- November 8, 2011 at 3:56 pm
Hahaha, Xeno is smoking some of Diaz' shit that killed Elvis. CP is paid by the UFC. Yeah right. That's why they are banned from UFC events. That's some of the dumbest conspiracy theory shit I've heard all day.
XENOPHON- November 8, 2011 at 3:14 pm
that sounds like a Dana White answer..take the obvious (that Diaz isn't that bright and that he is unsophisticated) and spin it when your backs against the wall with a guy that makes you look bad.
209Soldier- November 8, 2011 at 3:12 pm
War Diaz!!!!
fatbellyfrank- November 8, 2011 at 2:18 pm
So, shock horror, Nick might just have been punking us all, and his crazy persona is pretty much a contrived act
XENOPHON- November 8, 2011 at 1:41 pm
What's not spoken, is the FEAR that is at Zuffa and their contracts department about any fighter from the UFC going to other promotions or sports.
It's all but clear that due to Diaz's winning ways - he has forced Zuffa - after playing media games - to keep Nick signed. If Diaz had lost any of his past 2-3 fights, then Fluffa could have said that: "Diaz just wasn't the caliber" for their best fighters, but we know that would have just been another of many UFC lie's.
Why is it lie, because outside of the 2-3 fighters fighting for the UFC's respective weight class titles, there is little to difference in the professionalism from all other promotions. If you can state a case any different then do so.
Once Zuffa is displaced by the other promotions as sole arbiter of the MMA promotion hype game, it will be better for all.
Maybe even one day, Cage Potato will get publicly-OUTED as receiving payment from the UFC. Funny thing about a conspiracy, once all the players have admitted to a denial - once the proof is unleashed the shit rolls downhill fast.
BUSINESS 101 - never ask questions you don't already have an answer for - or can back up with proof in one's defense. GRIN

SnackDaddy- November 8, 2011 at 12:12 pm
@skeletor and others: i'm actually afraid this fight might end a little too quickly. the thing with diaz is that he's not the smartest fighter when it comes to defending himself (like his whole raising your hands to mock the other fighter routine); he likes to stand in the zone and bang. this will make him easy to take down for GSP. the good thing is that diaz will make the aggressor come out of GSP. i'm pretty sure this fight will go to an early finish. Round 3, max.

When is he gonna be told that the guy's name is CONDIT, not Conduit... or is this a ploy to make like he doesn't care to learn the actual name?
blah4life- November 8, 2011 at 11:39 am
@ snackdaddy I see what you're saying, but the fact is, he's the champ and he hasn't finished a fight since January of 2009 when BJ quit in his corner. I think with all the respect that's given to him as far as being the champ and being #2 on the p4p list, he's gotta finish. He wasn't throwing power shots in that Kos win. He put that lump on Kos by using the jab. When was the last time you saw someone finish a fight with a jab? And let's face it, Kos and Shields are great fighters, but they aren't as well rounded as GSP, and they never had a chance. I'm not knocking GSP's skills at all. Obviously, the dude is amazing, but he doesn't seem hungry anymore. He's just doing what it takes to win.
skeletor- November 8, 2011 at 11:38 am
@SnackDaddy - That's why I think this fight is gonna be awesome. Diaz is a different kind of striker than GSp has faced and his guard game and his scrambling ability is equally as dangerous.
Aside from this fight ending in a doctors stoppage (most likely with Diaz getting cut), it should be a pretty exciting fight contested all over the cage.
MyMomAteMyCum- November 8, 2011 at 11:29 am
He can do whatever the fuck he wants to do to me. Mmmmmmm.
SnackDaddy- November 8, 2011 at 11:26 am
I don't get this whole GSP fights safe argument. You guys complain that he only takes people down and then grinds out a win. Well, if you watched GSP's last two fights (against KOS and Shields), they were both against guys who were considered really deadly on the ground. And what did GSP do? He kept the fight on the feet. It was his opponents who were trying to take the fight to the ground. Were they able to do any damage to him on the feet? No they weren't. In fact GSP took Shields down a bunch of times a number of times but didn't engage with him there. He was smart about it. Too smart. And he left KOS with a tennis ball in place of a left eye. How is that not banging with someone. He was on the verge of finishing that fight and KOS was just defending that eye of his by the end. The truth is, GSP's a great fighter, and he's a smart fighter. He's got nothing to prove when it comes to me. He can take the fight to the ground, he can keep it standing, he can do what ever the fuck he wants against anyone, cause he's just that fucking good.
