Video: The Pros Break Down Penn vs. Edgar and Couture vs. Toney

The Fight Network does a decent job demonstrating the juxtaposition between the UFC 118 main and co-main events. On one had we have BJ Penn trying to regain his title from current UFC lightweight champion, Frankie Edgar who will be fighting tooth and nail to hold onto his belt and his ranking in the UFC’s 155-pound class. On the other hand, you have James Toney fighting for the pride of boxing against the sport of MMA, although his logic of what winning his fight against Randy Couture will actually prove is flawed.

In the videos above and below, a variety of professional boxers and mixed martial artists (as well as a smattering of actors sprinkled in for good measure) weigh in on this weekend’s two biggest fights.

I think MMA's weak point right now is the "analyst's" and show hosts and commentators. I couldnt even make it thru the entire second clip. I felt like I was watching Annakin Nerdwalker and KD Lang predict whats gonna happen at UFC 118.

That first video was a weird piece. "Over five rounds Penn could not keep up with Edgar's exhausting pace." Uh, according to Fightmetric Penn outstruck him. That's... weird.

Then the host dude is all "We never heard anything about an injury coming out of that". Uh, sinus infection? I've heard that a bunch of times and I'm not employed to speak about the sport.

Then Robin Black is there for some reason, what's up with that.

It's funny how they show highlights of James from like 10 to 15 years ago. James hasn't knocked anybody out since 2002............Who u foolin???? Not Randy. James's mma career is gonna last about 5 min on Sat. Night........Please Randy, Kill this fool...........
